Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

You see? See how many "defenders" are now starting to get annoyed.

I'm a TES and TESO fanboy but is impossible to defend this game.
It's time to take a break and see if ZOS will wake up or destroy this awesome game. For now it's unplayable because performance issue and class unbalance

You could said that for that first 2 months but now classes are actually pretty balanced after all the changes. the only issue right now is the FPS drop in large PVP battles, but that was caused by the last patch and will be fixed soon.

I was an avid defender of this game through 6 betas, early access, and 1-50. Once I got to VR, I saw the train wreck coming. I still try to defend it when I can because this game has such brilliant potential. But it's getting harder every day.

You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs.

I think the main problem is that the players don't know what kind of omelette the devs are going for. And so all problems, past, present and future, will be compounded into one uproar, even if they get 'fixed' en-route.

And frankly, the ultimate and most important question is - do the devs themselves know what sort of omelette they are making?

No. they know nothing about TES universe imho. Why do you think Beteshda never wanted to release an mmorpg TES game? It is impossible.
i relly think Beth does not agree with TESO and all the problems can cause to the TES franchise. http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/113287/do-you-really-think-beteshda-agree-with-teso#latest

The forums are a biased sub-set of the player base, and there is such a thing as confirmation bias. E.g. the OP sees what they want to see, ignores what doesn't fit with their thesis, and concludes that there is a large and growing army of people who agree with them.

People like me are enjoying the game just fine, agree with few if any of the criticisms, and don't see much of a need to post "things are fine by me" items. Relative to the start of the game there have been huge improvements. A mark of honest opinion for me is the ability to acknowledge both progress and remaining issues.

SPOT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my mind was just blown, not going to lie to you I'm feeling a little emotional right now and a little vulnerable from the logic

Ahem, a brief sampling of your previous topics. Feel free to stop me when we get to the "defender" portion:

    - Is ZOS gonna fix veteran ranks for the next update?
    - Did you left [sic] VR because it is boring, beause it is difficult,or both??
    - Did you imagine TESO going this bad 3 months later?
    - Do you feel like a betatester [sic] in ESO?

I can go on if you like.

I do feel like a betatester, consider they keeps making significant changes to skills, graphic, and breaking things in the process.
Is this your first mmo? Sure I understand / agree with part of the criticism but other than that? Seems to me what I read and what the people lament about on this forum is just like any other game forum. Again don't get me wrong, zeni surely could / should handle certain aspects / set priorities (hello fps issue) (much) differently. But still - don't make things look bleaker than they actually are.
By the way dwelling around in forums often lessens the joy of actual gameplay ;)

I really cant understand how can one feel that its ok to pay for this

Because I'm having fun, and not encountering most of the problems about which people are complaining. No one, well, no one interested in actual discussion, is saying that the game doesn't have problems, or that those problems shouldn't be called out, but the level of vitriol and hyperbole regularly used on these forums does blur the line between an expression of dissatisfaction with a consumer product and trolling.

I'm afraid this could hurt TES reputation. I can't understand how the devs can live with this. It's mad just to apply a patch that destroy the few things that were ok and just add more and more bugs. How can this be real? Yes it is.

The FEW things that were ok?!? The game is, like 98% OK!

I mean, go and take a tour through all the zones. Go ahead. Travel from the island of Stros'Mkai, through Bethnik, Glenumbra, Stormhaven, Rivenspire, Alik'r desert, and and and... Auridon... Reaper's March... Stonefalls... Rift...

It's a beautiful ride. Do that, and then tell me with a straight face that more than 2% of the things you saw were broken.

Templars and NBs were broken since day 1 and are just now getting fixed. That's 50% of the classes broken.

Funny you should use that for a rebuttal to someone who has played a NB from day one and is having a fabulous time doing so, and that includes veteran content up to vr7(i haven't gotten any farther yet).

Never got into the lore of the Elder Scrolls, only played Skyrim a little bit so I can't speak to that, but I love the game. I have a blast every night with my guild. A few quest bugs here and there so I put that quest on hold until it's fixed and go back. Maybe ignorance is bliss.

Just about to finish VR5 Reapers March so not at the end game yet but have quested in Craglorn...its fun, quested in Cyrodill...its fun, do dungeons and normal questing and crafting and exploring....fun fun fun. Though I don't need a lot in life to be happy, so I just enjoy my time no matter what I'm doing.

Go on, but you could not just post sic where an error appears, because you know...Engish is not my native language.

Anyway, I really can't see what's incorrect with that topics?

Well, aside from the topics all being biased rhetorical questions, you claim in this thread that the game has "turned" defenders, obviously referring to yourself, into critics. I pointed out that you have never been a defender of the game. You said that wasn't true. I rebutted with your post history.

Now that I've gone through the recap/exposition, do you see why I find yet another one of your thread titles to be wholly disingenuous? If you don't like the game, fine. But don't pretend that you have done anything but attack the design from the moment it was released.

    That is completely false, completely.
Sorry, but I bought two accounts, this one where I'm posting and another. ZOS have my 20-30 feedback mails back in beta times. I was in many mmo communities saying to the people "come to ESO". I convinced many people to buy this game. Don't tell me I was not a defender by those posts. Those posts came from some user that changed his mind due to the horrible path the game is going and because of the amount of bugs. That's all. If you don't know where I come from talking about this game, its your problem.

EDIT: You could talk with PTS testers too? Because there have been some here saying the same things as me.

I have, I'll admit, defended Zeni since day one, and TBH, I still will.

Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty ***king pissed at what they did and what they failed to fix, not to mention I'm one controversial post away from being banned, I believe it is complete bull**** they managed to break their game so much, it is completely unprofessional and irresponsible. Obviously someone ****ed up, whether it'll be upper management or lead developer, someone ****ed up and someone needs to be replaced.

Patches are being pushed out without proper testing, honestly what the hell are the test servers for? Zeni needs to slow down and take their time at releasing these updates before they start to lose their more loyal players.

I'd rather wait 6 months to play a properly working game then to play 6 months on a game that doesn't work properly.

But to be completely fair, for the community to lash out at customer support and those that are really trying to patch the game up is completely uncalled for, NO ONE likes to be called incompetent, especially when they are trying to push for a better game and overall trying to help everyone. So how about we stop attacking the work horse and actually try to help them out instead screaming like idiots.

In my experience it usually isn't the workers that are the issue but more of management that calls the shots, sets the policies, and drives decision making and strategy. Unfortunately they usually are the last to get terminated or reprimanded.

I've noticed this as well. People seem to be coming to their senses and finding their voice.

I found my voice when they nerfed the GCD on puncturing strikes. It was a completely moronic nerf out of the blue that added 2 seconds to every attack with it. It was so obvious that no one even bothered to test it before implementing it on live servers that it really concerned me about the state of the game.

And there were people even defending this on the forums. I was livid over that. Hadn't even really posted that much on the forums before that.
