PVE is unplayable

tom.danhelb16_ESO
I know there are many topics about how there is a lag in PVP etc, but the lag and fps issues are also in PVE (EU) for many of us. FPS drops to 10 within couple of minutes, skills and combat is not responsive and world loads very slow.

I have tried everything from new gfx drivers, repairing game, deleting shadercache, testing different usersetings and nothing is helping. It's been now 8 days and i have a bad feeling it will take another week or so till this gets fixed :(

This is the reason why i am trying to be vocal since majority of players seem to have no issues with PVE.

Sinds patch 1.2.3 i have huge lagspikes and latency issues and sometimes huge fps drops for no reason. Before the patch everthing was fine. some latency issues but i was mangeble. but after patch 1.2.3 and 1.2.4 its getting close to unplayable for me

But i kinda getting more [snip] of on the fact that the EU server is stil in the USA
Any plans to move it or can get atleast some more info on it becaue how long is this game out now and Eu the server is stil not in EU i mean come on we are paying 15 a month to play it can we aleast get a server that in the EU i think this wil fix lot of latency issues for a lot of people

I think you will be disappointed if you think moving the servers to the EU will make a big difference. Most of the lag is server-lag, not network lag.

I know you will hate me for this but I have no lag or fps drop and I play in ultra high setting. I'm on EU server and swap around pvp servers. I've played with massive zergs as part of my guild (exterminatus) and still don't suffer bad drops. The only pain I get is very slow weapon swapping in massive zergs and occasional heal lag in them zergs.

I know this really doesn't help people suffering but it emphasises the difficulty with this issue in that some people are totally unaffected, while others are unplayable.

my rig isn't a monster. I built it for about £950 8 months ago. I am on bt infinity and have a fast connection but that shouldn't impact fps drops.

I'm no developer but my guess is that the new lighting is playing havoc with certain cpu/cards and its probably linked to some combination of spells. As its happening a lot in pvp, its probably a heal spam skill.

hope you all get sorted soon.

With and old i7 920 @ 3.2 and SLI 570s I can run on ultra without any noticable fps drops. There might be some specific hardware/driver combination causing this.

I was fine last night in VR10 The Rift, except when I grouped with two others and whenever will took on a group of mobs/bosses of more than a couple, ALL of our fps drop to below 10 fps.

Don't if it was something with grouping or whenever more that 5-6 players/npcs were on the screen at the same.

The worst was a wispmother world boss that spawned a bunch of wisps, it would nearly go to 0 fps.

I didn't have laggy graphics until the last patch. Sure, I sometimes had the "freeze in place" moment where everything just locks mid-step but it isn't often and never in combat.

However today I have seen some poor lagging. Not huge amounts but not having seen it before I wonder just "what" was fixed?

Well, Im sitting at 64-65fps average in VR10 open areas (medium-high settings with some effects lowered), yet every half an hour or something like that my fps drop to 1-5fps and stays at 16-24fps for a long period after it.

I got it happening once just as I walked out of a VR10 public dungeon in Reapers March yesterday. Got attacked by a group of bugs and my fps dropped to 1-3fps instantly. After it I was sitting at low 20 fps until I relaunched the client.

Relogging to the same zone and this time there is no fps drop in the same place, killing the same mobs. Makes no sense to attach this fps drop (65 to 2 lol) to a high-load zone when it does not happen after a relog in the same area.

Happened in Craglorn even, in a desert open area while doing a quest (talking to the thief aspect in a north area POI, not even killing stuff) and after moving to the city still 18fps. Relaunch again, 65fps in the quest POI.

My lag and FPS issues cleared up 100% when I stopped playing the game and deleted it from my hard drive. Now my computer runs smooth and fast.

I'm finding it getting worse by the patch, and have given up trying at the current level. Before 1.2.3 issues were very rare, occasionally I'd have textures in towns take a second or two to appear if I was sprinting on a fast horse, playing max settings on everything. At the moment, monsters take 10seconds to 2 minutes to appear if spawning nearby, effects (especially the first time) seconds to appear. As damage appears, and blocking is evaluated, when the effect appears, not when the monster animates, blocking is harder. CC happens straight away, however, so now rather than my bow knockback doing damage, knockback, disorientate, it's doing knockback, disorientate, damage, waking the monsters up straight away. Turn Undead likewise breaks it's own fears on undead and Daedra. At veteran levels having your CC taken away makes the combat even less fun than it was, as CC is king as the game balance takes all other effective strategies away (for a stamina based nightblade, anyway).

FPS is fine, it's the failure to actually render stuff that is putting me off. When the issue kicks in, CPU load is maxed, GPU load drops.

Some of the issues sounds like a memory leak, where certain conditions trigger a leak and then that just slows the computer to the point it is caching from the hard drive and sending the cpu wild. Just really strange though that this doesn't happen for everyone, unless its hardware/driver specific to trigger the condition. Only speculation and I am sure ZOS have their absolute best investigating this/

For me, PvE does not seem to have FPS issues. But now it does take a long time, 3+ seconds, for things in the world to appear (NPCs, creatures, other players, boxes and chests; not buildings, trees, rocks, ground, hills, etc). Last night I entered the room with the bankers in the bank of Auridon and it must have taken 10 seconds for those things to appear. I just stood there and thought to myself "so this is what this room looks like empty".

PvP is a disaster though. Completely unplayable for me due to very low FPS.

I too am having FPS drop issues in PVE. I do not PvP so I do not know if the issue is happening in there as well.

I am on Comcast XFinity Cable line.

I can run 2 computers, a tablet, a phone, and live stream on Roku, all hitting my internet line without an issue.

But turn off all but the 2 computers (1 laptop and the desktop for gaming) and as soon as I log into TESO, I start having problems.

Every 3-5 minutes my FPS goes from 50-60 FPS to <12 and I get the computer network disconnected tones and everything freezes for 10-30 seconds, then all is fine again for another 3-5 minutes although sometimes the FPS drop happens 2 or 3 times in a row in rapid succession.

Not sure what is going on, but this didn't start happening until the 1.23 release.

This is interesting. So maybe there is something in common with our hardware that does not play nice now with ESO. Is there a place we can upload diag files? From both people with and without the issue?
