Anyonee one Else Noticing

Anyone Else noticing that it seems no matter what class you pick you can't simply "Play that Class"? You "Have" to mix and match stuff to actually be effective?

Like I never see any NightBlades in leather with Daggers useing nothing but their associated skill lines, Or I never see a Source in light armor casting ranged nuke spells Like youd think a source would (The most common build I see for a source is heavy armor close range battlemage type builds....

I mean...

It seems a abit off that you can't even play a traditional "Mage" effectively, or a Traditional NB, (just 2 examples).

I hope they fix that because I'd actually like to play a ranged caster, but so far it doesn;t seem possible (But if anyone has any youtube videos showing a Sorce playing "full" caster and not useing Daedra/heavy armor / etc let me know.

Same with Nightblade, and the other classes.

Not sure what would be traditional NB but I play NB with dual wield and use DW skill + NB skills and wearing full medium. Of course 2nd bar is Bow but I would see that also as traditional NB.

Same here. Just have to play smarter and know what you are up against. Packs of 3 have to managed properly.

+ Ok cool so there are people that do it, awesome.

What about Sources? Anyone an All caster Light armor Source? Or DK Firemage? Or something like a Ranged Nuke?

Hmmm, i have to disagree with parts. Light armor is very favorable and so are staffs. Even DK's use that. I am a sorc and the light armor passives work perfectly, and the only way to maximize crit for spells is using staffs, or even damage. So i commonly see sorcs with light armor, and more classes. So sorcs alot of times do go with 'traditional' methods.

On the other hand you are right imo about the mixing and matching stuff. The class skills favor templars imo which is why im just starting one. I saw a NB tank and he killed me twice, sweet build it was. And also a NB with resto staff was really good. spammed soul siphon or whatever and blocked lol. So i guess there is alot of mixing. In this i completely agree with you. To balance your class with what it lacks more is what like everyone does and to be effective in PVP, using 'traditional' setups are usually worse it seems. Good point i guess, I like the ability to be diverse though, so i dont know what my opinon really is on the way this game seems to make you play your toons. The reason i said templars are favored in class skill lines is because they dont really have to balance many thinkgs it seems to me. They have heals, tank abilites, single target DPS and AOE. They can pretty much play whatever weapon they want and be able to balance it out really well. Just my opionion if the class. My templar toon is still low level so i dont know that much. I'm speaking on behalf of expiernce of fighting templars, and witness them tank like a superbreed.

So, my NB is a tank, my sorcerer will become something like a hunter and my DK will become a ranged fire mage ^^ Only my templar might become a healer

But this is just because I like to play them that way, not because anyone or anything forces me to do so.

Yes, Templars have it all, and none of it is as good as the other classes compared individually. I personally think that this is fair, but it does make the class less desired for grouping/raiding(if it actually existed).

Classes are about roles, and if your not the king of any "role" your more or less undesirable. The majority of the complaints come from the fact that Temps "role" is supposed to be King of Heals, but they're supposedly 2nd in that area too.

Leather, never wear anything else. It smells quite bad in Shadowfen. But I only have one knife with my sword. You got me there. And sometimes I get all Nordy and start swinging a pair of axes. And use a mix of NB skills. My bum even looks big in these pants. Then, when I have to run away and live to level another day (yesterday was some vampire boss) I can give the big spamming nasty man something to remember me by. Can't have this, vampire lord!

I do have a sorc all in light armour, and using a resto staff at the moment. I thought the things were supposed to heal me, so I'll be going back to a destro staff pretty quick, I guess. Been piling on the magicka; I think he's overcharged if he eats magicka food.

    Things die surprisingly fast (1-50).

If I make another one, though, it's going to be a heavy-armour caster, to compliment my med-armour nightbow on NA. Haven't decided on a weapon, though.

I also have a DW heavy-armour dragonknight (EU) who is an Argonian that breathes fire and is hot to the touch, precisely because the concept is very cheesy.

I have to assume you are joking. I.have.to. I see plenty of people playing Traditional Format Characters. That being said, I'm still tempted to the Light/Medium Armour Combo because they give Magicka/Stamina regen and I tend to cap Armour early on.

I like to mix and match them.

Started the concept for my third 'main' last night, going to be a nightblade mage. I've already got a nightblade archer with full medium and bows, and a nightblade barbarian with full medium and a two-handed sword. My next two characters will be a nightblade tank in heavy armor and probably sword and shield, and two staves on a light armor ball of mage destruction.

I like making the classes do things outside the norm. It's been a blast. I'll probably give the tank more time before I make him, just so they can hit heavy armor and sword and shield with a couple of buffs first. Just like I've avoided really focusing on a light armor class, since I felt they were imbalanced and were likely to see nerfs.

These aren't my only characters, but they are the ones I'm taking into the VR grind.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

One of my char it's a traditional Mage Caster as well (and I like him very much), but I can say it's really hard to play solo PvE (without pets) and PvP using this build.

We do have some "traditional" builds here, but we can't play as we want, since some hard VR Zones (VR5+) and skills broken don't help.

I.E: VR5+ Have some mobs like two NPC's and a Bear, gets almost impossible to kill it alone, or without using everything, and we'r not talking about Gargoyles, we're talking about common mobs.

People like to complain how SORC is OP, but it's not, we just make a SORC OP, when you use more "other class/Armor" skills than yours (mix/match).
