You sir must be here to troll or you would realize you have no mmorpg experience. Now if you did you would see what a horror filled disaster this launch was and you could see how little the developers seem to care.
I honestly hope they do care and trying their best to fix these issues I just honestly dont think that is what they are doing. This long silence over VR and forced instances show ( me personally) that they just do not care and do not plan on fixing issues.
Next time you don't realize what the issue is maybe have experience outside of ESO then come back with a valid argument please

This is a Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) game, not a Massive Single-player Online (MSO) game, so it is perfectly reasonable to expect cooperative play (not force it - but expect it as an option) completely throughout this particular MMO, especially in the case of the main story. In the case of this game, the forced-solo instances effectively serve as a gate for most of the game's content - and that simply should not be the case.
It's good that you and others successfully found a work-around to that broken mechanic, but many others either cannot, lacking the "twitch keyboard-warrior" skills so many possess, or they simply will not, refusing to engage in solo-only play in an MMO. And those others will unsubscribe (or have already done so), spreading negative reviews of this MMO to others, which will equate to lost subscriptions and lost revenue - which could result in this MMO going F2P.
None (or very few) of us here want this game to go F2P, so wouldn't it be in the developers' best interests to make the game accessible to all kinds of players? That being the case, why would it not make sense to provide a simple toggle for players entering main quest areas, giving them the choice to either solo or co-op the content? And wouldn't that be preferable to simply pulling out the almighty nerf-hammer and making a joke out of currently-tough bosses?
It would be a win-win.

Mescalamba✭✭✭Well, if they didnt make mistakes, which they could avoid by simply playing some MMO and learning from it.. then I would agree, but this game got a lot of "fails", simply cause someone wanted reinvent wheel and in same time knew absolutely nothing about MMOs.

hk11✭✭✭✭What you say may have been true in the past, but most MMOs that come out now have limited content and no one is going to hang around for years waiting for it to get better.
It's like starting a car company and saying that you are starting with a Model T because Ford did. People expect a more complete game on launch than in the old days.
I am going to be assaulted, but wildstar launched as a complete game. Apparently this is possible.2 -

You mean like when you pay way up front for ALL games? Just like you pay way up front for WoW, plus multiple expansions so you can run all the way to Northrend on your level 1 character too? It's a pretty poor argument that you are upset because you can't get to every single nook and cranny of every single zone from day 1 and that somehow is ZoS's fault for poor game design. Plenty of MMO's place level restrictions on certain content/zones.
In ESO however you can in fact grab ANY quest from ANY zone you have access to at ANY level, though good luck killing enemies +45 levels over you. Most other MMO's have quest level restrictions on top on content level restrictions. Also your beloved WoW does in fact have phased zones that you cannot access until you have completed certain parts of quests and are of a certain level, again poor choice of comparison.

As to the topic,yes,I DID pay way up front as many others did.I paid for it in February,and waited a couple of months for it to release.I was fine with that.Not a problem at all. I still think if I want to go to Craglorn,I should be able to.If I die,..I die.So what.It isnt your business to tell me that I shouldnt have that option. (Oh,btw,..I got an invite in my email to go there,but still havent figured out how to get into that area.)

(I really want it to) I liked it so much i purchased 2 6 month subs for myself and the wife. Shes logged in maybe 4 days after the first free month, and i have not even felt the desire to log maybe a month into it. I tried to get my buddy to play but we couldn't group because of phasing so he was turned off. Id rather play a game were I can go into it and play how I want, so i started up some Darkfall and can play that game however I want. To me this is in beta, and i will see in a few months after things have smoothed out if its ready.But I, being poor, have only my dreams;

Mortosk✭✭✭✭Releasing horribly unfinished games is seriously becoming an epidemic. Even with single player games. Now that most games require an internet connection, it's apparently acceptable to release a broken game and fix it over the course of a couple of months through patches. (I'm looking at you, Watch Dogs)
Unless players speak up and say "Hey, we're not freaking Beta testers." nothing will change. Not trying to bash ESO in particular with this post. I'm just stating a general observation.
Why let people beta test for free when you can charge them. It's really quite ingenious. Hell some developers are even offering beta keys for pre-ordering games now. Charge 'em to test the game before and after launch!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. If they made everything grouped, then some quests would be super easy or have their difficulty significantly increased, and then you'd have a forum filled with people whining about how it's too hard and the devs are forcing everyone to either overlevel or find a group to do it with. Aureli✭✭✭@AngryNord I have no problem doing the main quest content at level. Not having reached Molag Bal yet I can't speak as to whether it's the same for him. I think a good part of the problem there is that people are undergeared. If you are running around in white and greens you aren't going to do well. I'm almost always in full blue with a couple purples, since level 10, and that requires very little extra effort on my end, a little luck, and no money at all. In fact, I am usually running around doing yellow and orange quests against mobs 3-4 levels higher than me, because I feel it's too easy otherwise.Edited by Aureli on July 1, 2014 5:28AM0

MMO = Massive Multi-player Online ... no where in that description does it say that people HAVE to group up, nor does it state that people are required to have the option to join a group! All it means (which, through your understanding of language) is that multiple people are playing this at the same time you are.
what are you really mad at? Could you not beat Molag Bal? Did your guild chat go away when you entered into those solo instances? Could you no longer whisper friends while you were running through the very small solo instance you were required to do?

✭While I am very ok with launch and most other things. Could be better, could be worse. Cyro is such a central part of ESO, even if I am not a pvp player, that it can not be unplayable for very long. Bugs, Questions that doesnt work. Only missions that sais kill Oghur, etc.
I didnt think this patch would magicly fix the lag. But it did make a step forward. They got more info now. And if you believe me or not, Zenimax KNOWS, they are on a very tight clock here to fix Cyro/craglorn to playable status.
Its still 3 months in, so the game should be playable, but someone should go disconnect, or a quest fek up. But not as serious as Cyro right now.
I dont think any MMO are ready for launch. You simply have to do up to a point, then push the button, put on a flamesafe suit, pocked your money and work on it, until people come back.

Every reviewer was impressed how stable the PVP campaigns were. Every gamer was impressed how the server could handle such huge loads. Most players were happy and acknowledge the smooth launch despite a few hiccups. Questing was fine with a few bugs. Beta was much smoother than most other games.
Then they began patching.
PVP campaigns are no longer stable, massive FPS drops with skills and intractable constantly being broken with every patch without a good fix.
Server could no longer hold as it rolls back constantly with resets.
Hiccups turn into bigger glitches and are now disappointments after 2 major patches.
Questing has more progress blocking bugs as compared to pre-patch. They would break quest x and fix quest y, then break quest z and fix quest x. It cycles.
Beta was smooth, but it's now technically still in beta after 2 major patches. In fact I enjoyed beta more.
You may not be experiencing the problems, but you cannot deny that it exists.
Player A progressed through main quest without issue. Main quest broken after patch x. Player B plays the game later and discovers the bug.
Player A is satisfied.
Player B is frustrated.
You have to acknowledge that just because you are lucky, doesn't mean others are too. Just because you do not have complaints, doesn't mean others' complaints could be written off as a child's perception. It's a MMORPG. It's not your game. It's everybody's game.
