Should ESO Beta go Free to Play?

This game is not complete. I want my friends to come back to this game while it's still in Beta. When it is complete and working properly, ZoS can re-implement it's Sub base model. I feel that if they don't do this, the game will slowly die - especially if they plan to add more game-breaking features that takes weeks to fix.

Create some cool costumes / mounts that players can buy and stop pretending that this game will survive as a subscription game.

Despite your opinion, ESO is no longer beta.

Keep thinking it is... but that isn't going to change the facts, jack. :)

This game is not a Beta. It is post-vanilla. If you don't like the game, find something else to do. This game would definitely not survive as an F2P game, and if you can't afford the subscription you probably shouldn't be playing MMO's anyway.

Besides, I don't want the game polluted with gold farmers, bots, teenagers and kids who have no respect or consequences for the rules or social environment. These players when they get banned just make new throw away accounts and the trolling behaviors and bullying behaviors go up.

If you want to do something with your friends, find a mutual activity and have a discussion with them about that. In a world with hundreds of MMO's, you can't really expect all your friends to play the same one you do. This isn't the world of 2003 where you have 5-6 premium MMO's and you can easily convince all your friends to pick the same one.

They chose this subscription model themselves and they're sticking to it. Whether it succeeds or fails, if we save them, they won't learn anything.

This, and according to an interview Sage already said is not going to be F2P for now, and they don't have plans for it.

No and stop with these pointless threads/polls. F2P makes games worse...not better.

Oh, look . This thread/poll again.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

The thing I love about MMO's, is that they are never finished until the day they close the servers down. Doesn't matter if that's 11 months or 17 years (here's looking your direction Ultima Online), they will constantly be testing and adding and fixing.

Unlike single player games which *might* include a year or two of DLC, and then it's done.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. F2P is never the solution.

The game IS relatively complete.. But that being said individuals who burned through content, hit rank 12 via exploiting experience grinds and simply spent 12 hours a day playing have hit the cap.

I still have 1 faction of veteran rank content to explore, Craglorn questing and hopefully try trials. If I manage to do all that relatively soon I can get working on an alt or 2 while waiting for content.

So bug fixes aside here's hoping they're working on new content!

no such thing as a free lunch. "Free to Play" games get more out of consumers for shorter periods of time. I learned my lesson with neverwinter, pay to win. Ill take the monthly sub fee over paying for bank space and mounts 20 bucks a pop any time.

Yes. At least I know that bugs, and maybe PvE VR balance, will eventually be fixed/tweaked. Any bugs I find in Skyrim ... uh, I dunno how to fix those myself, so I guess I'm SOL there. And even with it all up to date and such, I still get the occasional bug.

I've tried "free to play". They tend to be very expensive in the end and just seem to be cash grabs for some basement kid somewhere who wrote a text game or cobbled together some city-builder with forced pvp.

The subscription is fine, and I've seen this kind of doom and gloom and "me and my friends are jobless high school hippies, we wanna play for free" crap for years on the WoW forum. My only thing would be having them move my pay date up a couple of weeks (ie, so that my time overlaps for the first month) for to be a little more convenient for my payment style.
