The irony here is that those who argue that the game need not be a 'WoW' clone are the ones primarily supporting this feature which is very WoW - like.

There are several anti WoW clone posters in this thread supporting this cosmetic feature.

All pets are useless and a waste of programming, now if they actually did something useful like hold extra carrying slots them I might think about using one but right now they are totally useless and annoying , I wish they would make it so you could toggle pets off so I don't have to look at them .

The only "pets" I would be interested in would be some kind of wolf (various Nords I have run into mention a sort of freindship with wolves) or maybe a chicken or pig.

I'm all for cosmetic features like pets. So long as it is just the costume/design team and not the other development teams working on it.

Establish a better argument than the "there are mutlitple teams working on a,b,c". Everyone who has ever played a game is fully aware of this. The issue is perception. There are so many negative perceptions about Zenimax that throwing fluff out says many things to those who want issues resolved, to those who WANT to give them their money. It says, 'We don't care.'.

The gas station analogy is bad also. We do not take our vehicles to get repaired at the gas station here in the states. You know why? Because you get what you paid for.

Coming from the side of Hunter from DAOC (see creds sig), I really hope to some day see a Hunter form added to the Templar line (Why Templar? Cuz there was always this insane notion about spears in DAOC, so at least the spear stays but I gets to carry and use my 2h Sword like I always did in DAOC!)

As far as Vanity ... well my pre bought crap is still in the email so it wont waste space.

Bah, I could care less in my opinion because the pets do absolutely nothing to help you out. Extra stats, find extra treasure, help alert you of an enemy PC coming your way, and many more. I would love to have a pet that actually dose something positive for the player other then follow you around being in the way and annoying. Bah humbug I say!!! But for those that like these worthless pets then I'm happy for ya. Cheers!

Obviously, based on some posts in this thread and in many other threads, there are a lot of people out there who have no idea that there are multiple teams working on multiple things. No, it says "we're working on improving various aspects of this game." But I guess if each thing they add to the game isn't something that you specifically are interested in, then that means that they're saying "we don't care" because they should be catering exclusively to you, and not cater to people who dare to enjoy different things than what you enjoy. In fact, the sign that a company is committed to improving a game is that they simultaneously work on bug fixes, balance issues, new gameplay content, and new cosmetic content.

To all those folk that are yelling about more pets being put in a game with issues...something like this will, I suspect, have been worked on for quite some time. Cosmetic or not.

So no one has said, "Oh gosh I am tired of fixing issues...Imma gonna go make some guar pets!!" They would have been working on these things for a long, long time.

Now give me a huge silt stider so I can send it stomping some people...yeah that would be awesome *goes to dreamland.*

I think this is a great idea, and hopefully they aren't just given to you or bought in the cash shop, but have some kind of in-game requirement. This, along with the achievement based dyes and upgraded (and hopefully repeatable) delves are going to add some stuff to do solo end-game.

The whole new content vs bug fixing issue has to be a balance. The bugs aren't preventing people from finishing all the available content and if new stuff isn't released those are potentially lost subs as well. I'm VR12 and haven't played for several days because i'm basically out of stuff to do (no, I haven't finished all group stuff, but as I'm an older guy with a family it's hard to dedicate hours to uninterrupted group play, so I need solo stuff).

That's Son of Godzilla. Godzooki is supposed to be Gozilla's nephew, and is exclusively from that gawdsawful old Saturday morning cartoon show. Both are equally goofy, though.

As for pets, mine are in the bank, and I'm ditching the Clannfear on my sorc as soon as I get certain spells unlocked.

They wouldn't be so bad if I could have them hanging around some house somewhere that I designed and built myself, though ....

I honestly would still rather see some sweet new motifs than some pets that take up space although it would be nice to give world bosses like a 1% chance to drop a pet of themselves a nice pet Deadroth.

Absolutely. It's not like they launched on 4/4 then started work on Craglorn, or pets, on 4/5. All this kind of content, and others, have been in development for quite some time.
