Access Code Insanity!

Devs: At this point I would rather have my account hacked and lose control of it than to have to wait for one more Access Code email. Plus, we all know this isn't any kind of safeguard.

Thanks in advance.

Ikilled007...one suggestion...fire your internet service provider...or at least change it.

I only have to deal with this because I use no less than three machines to play my ESO account: my main desktop and two laptops. I suspect @IKilled007‌ is dealing with the same setup; and as such this isn't really one of the design use-cases as most people are not using so many machines.

Also, this is a valid security control methodology; which incorporated with other mechanisms can and is of value.

Every time it sees a new IP address or new computer then yeah your going to have to do this. GW2 did the same thing to me.

Well, if it's popping up this frequently, I'd say it's definitely a kind of safeguard.

Also, I haven't heard nearly as many reports of compromised accounts in this game as I have in other MMOs, so ZO must be doing something right with their security.

Its not just if you change ip, its very often.

I got static ip adress which never change, using the same computer every day.

Got this all the time now ( last 4-5 days )

Then something is changing, because that access code only activates when it detects a change in the login source or after a major update.

I have only had to do this twice in 3 months... Once soon after creating the account and once just after this last update.

Since 1.2.3 I have to enter in an access code EVERY time I login. I only play the game from a single desktop computer. Even if I'm in the game, quit, and instantly re-launch and try to login I get the "An email has been sent..." My inbox has like 12 access code emails from this past weekend alone... Something be broken...

Some of us don't have that much choice.

Then something is changing that is setting off the safeguard. I have only enter in a code when I moved between machines (desk/lap), logged in from a separate location to see online account, or when a major update was downloaded. Just noting that my experience is apparently nothing like yours and it is likely s good thing that you see the required message...again, because something is changing.

Yes, but not necessarily at the game end, although I assume you've raised a ticket and dealt with any suggestions offered by customer support (assuming you've had a full response).

I also assume you don't share your account i.e. let anyone else play it from a different machine - family, friend, guildmate etc.

Have you spoken to your ISP? Do you have a single internet connection or share it with housemates, or are you using a school or other corporate connection?

This problem has only ever been raised by a tiny handful of players, most seem to receive a single email when they switch computers, the game gets upgraded, or as in my case today the server gets relocated.

My problem is that i dont get any acsess code sent to me. After last patch mail arrived after 9 !!! hours and 10 login attempts.

Today i have tried to login 4-5 times and still no mail. It's insane.

Stupid thing is ... NOTHING CHANGED ON MY END ... they just moved the European Server to an European Data Center (where it should have been in the first place) and as a bonus for ESO changing something I have to wait for the darn email again.

Same here. Nothing changed my end, but still got access code request.
I was lucky to have the email arrive within seconds, but yeah. Can confirm that access code will be required in some cases.
