I beg you - please realise this about endgame and vet

    I understand Stratti's point.

I did my first Vet dungeon last night and probably half of the skills on my bars were ones I didn't even have when I hit level 50 (and to a previous poster, yes your character display shows L50 before it converts to VR). Heck, I didn't even have a need to weapon swap during combat before I started VR content.

If I had gone to Craglorn and levelled up on anomolies by spamming an AoE skill, I wouldn't have been much good in that dungeon. As it is, I am much more versatile and prepared for those "oh crap" moments.

But of course it isn't true that Vets who got their ranks on anomaly grinding are always (or usually?) less experienced (and/or have less skills at their disposal) than those of us who are questing our way through the other factions' main story. They may have played a lot more group dungeon content on their way to L50 and honed their skills that way.

    This is to the gamers,

Endgame begins at V1 - many people misinterpret how vet works it is a small expansion in soft cap that is all. I am not much more powerful at V8 than I was at v1 stats wise (as a tank) although my experience and knowledge has grown.

Some come here to complain that vet is a grind . Which says to me that they think it's levelling . Levelling ends at 50 . Vet is a level 50 with extra buffed soft caps and better items .

So here is a list of things to do for vet points.
    Solo dungeon
    Public Dungeon
Cadwells quest ( I completed this at v6 in the v10 levels )
    Dolmens
    World Bosses
Vet Dungeons - quests are very good and vp rate is high

    Content is challenging and fun.

Also guilds we have five slots - at any time I will have some 200 or so players online . Little tip do 4 trade guilds and 1 social/ grouping / dungeon guild

This isn't wow or another MMO where you will be left behind if your not v12 enjoy the endgame stop skipping it and then complaining your bored . Stop feeling anxiety that your levelling slowly when your already levelled

I'm sorry but it is more to it than that. I also had 4 trade guilds and 1 social guild. I have never had 200 players on at one time between them all. Maybe 100 if I'm lucky.

That fact is that we have 1 option to level through VR ranks..... not only that but if you choose another option it takes you an absurd amount of time. The game right now only appeals to those that want to quest through other factions or grind. They can't AvA to get through VR at an effective rate so all the PVP'er or a huge majority have left. Sure they can do it but they don't want to spend months doing it because it just becomes a grind and lots of work without a good reward or incentive to continue.

The fact of the matter is, it needs some criticism. There will always be those that are for it because it is 'hardcore', 'challenging' and 'fun'.

Reality is most of the player base is not and if you want a game like keep it up..... you will be playing with very few people soon. I'm not saying make it easier but ease up a bit because the average player that quests through VR content 6-10 can't solo a group of 3.

A lot of players might also not want to quest through the alliances, maybe he wants to PVP?

By what definition of end-game do you declare this?

FACT: at 50 (1) I can't wear all the gear in the game, at level-cap I'd expect to be able to do so .. the game needs me to "LEVEL UP" in order to wear 50 (2) items for example.

Yes, my stats aren't increasing but I'm still leveling.

The key thing here is that all new content uses the current 'level cap'. Craglorn raised the level cap from VR10 to VR12. Expect future content to be based on VR12 not 50 (1), so anyone stuck on 50 (1) will have to LEVEL UP to play any new content ZOS adds to thew game.

End-game is where gear-progression becomes the only means to increase power: in ES that only starts at VR12 since it's only at that level you can wear the current BiS items.

    VR1-VR12 is LEVELING.

    Q.E.D.

Another aspect of many MMOs' end-game is the 'dailies', ESO has them too .. for level VR12.

    Need I say more?

I just want the Vet Zones to fill up with people again. I'm in the Vet 8 area and there is no one to help me if I'm stuck on a quest. I don't have anyone in my guilds that could help me out. The guilds I'm in have over 100 to 200 people in them but only 5 people on at a time and some of them aren't anywhere near my level. I'm either the highest leveled person in my guild or on at the time.

I feel your pain Trip... I had to wait around for 2hrs tonight until someone else asked for help so I could finish the Dolmens and WBs in VR7. That is AFTER spending an hour and a half requesting my own help in zone chat and not getting any responses.

The fact there are so few people in VR6, and even fewer as you continue to level in the zones is a bit worrisome. It's a good indication that something is broken if people are choosing to go elsewhere, in game. Most people are actually preferring to play Alts because it is easier.

I just hit VR8 tonight and that has me worried.. Not because I can't handle most mobs and bosses on my own, but because if there is help needed, all I am going to get in response is the eerie chirp of crickets as I wait, and wait and wait some more.
Far too many characters to list any more.

The only ones left in Veteran zones are us, bunch of masochists.
This has nothing to do with it being challenging or fun. It's about beating it.

I finished my VR2 zone Yesterday (Stormhaven as being Pact).
Was it fun? Certainly not, way to stressful
Worth my time and effort? Sure, but I'm a masochist.

Can every player do it? No Way
Because the amount of time, patience and skill you need to solo through all those trash mobs is just insane.

Already at VR2 trash mobs hit as hard, and some harder, than bosses. Now imagine those packs of 3 mobs hitting like freaking trucks. And this is VR2, not VR6-10.

Of course DK's and Sorcs, pre nerfs and pre Craglorn, certainly ran through it as it was nothing. But it's a very different story on my Templar and I still feel so sorry for those poor melee NB's. Although those melee NB's have all my attention and healing love when I spot them up.

Just got to say, this game is heavy rpg. Doing everything by the book and I mean questing, dolmens, world bosses, group dungeons, solo/public dungeons & crafting can equate to a few months of content

I am currently vr2 on my nightblade with 6 1/2 days of playtime, now this is 2-5 hours a day with weekends being more if I am not busy.

I do get that feeling of wanting to be max level but I've been down that road and it always ends up same where I sit around admiring my money and loot but now I'm just enjoying the game at a different pace because I know I'll get there

WoW will have WoD soon you all can go there and leave those behind who care about having a challenging experience rather than a faceroll game full of welfare epics

Pretty fun you talk about welfare epics, i mean... /em looks back at the 169 grain solvent, 64 mastics, 2x full stacks of elegant linings that paid for my full legandary armor with a big smile
Got them all in 3 days by destroying the epics I got for levling vet 3-12 in craglorn.
Btw, in this game there is no such thing as an "epic" item. I would debate if there even is items that can be considered rare in the whole game!

One of the problems is having alts (say of each class). This is where the game can become tedious because you are doing the same set of quests over & over again, plus the personal story. This being said, my other mmo is no different (gw2). If you want world completion for each alt you do the same events, zones etc for all characters.

It would be nice to see regions added to this game for level 1-50 & veteran levels. Provided there are any that can still be added to the game.

A matter of personal taste but I don't mind repeating the content because I'm using different abilities and that makes the content fresh. I have levelled a sorc and a NB and they were completely different to play. Next I will level a heavy armour DK sword/shield and I will be completely different form the other two .

I found some quests a breeze on the sorc but very hard on the NB and vice versa. I'm looking forward to seeing how the same quests pan out with a tanky build

I agree, it's hard to get this through your head - I think I've only recently realized it myself. I've become exponentially more skilled at dealing with hordes of mobs, and have definitely found that a good amount of my improvement, if not most of it, has been from learning and improving as a player, rather than through numeric upgrades. The difference in gear from rank to rank is pretty insignificant. I do find the rewards in pretty much all of vet to be pretty unsubstantial and inevitable vendor trash, which has shifted my focus away from caring too much about what I'm getting out of a quest and just being content with the fact that I'm making progress.

If you let yourself obsess about your VP bar, you'll probably be disappointed. And if you're expecting fancy rewards besides what you can make for yourself once you rank up, you'll be disappointed too. But if you focus on making yourself a better player, learning your skills, trying different combinations and paying a little attention to the quests you do, you might even find yourself enjoying it.

I use a completely different loadout now than I did when I hit V1 and enjoy it much more, while remaining consistent with the playstyle I like to roll with, and no dresses or sticks were required!
    Great post, fully agree.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

If levelling ends at 50 why can't you equip a V5 item? That's right, because it is LEVEL restricted and your LEVEL is not high enough. Also you can't use the group finder to join vet 5-10 dungeons because your LEVEL is not high enough. So if the game is restricting you because your level is not high enough then you haven't reached end game.

Unfortunately, many people have somewhat of a banal and rigid view in their head of what 'endgame' is. Often drawn on their previous experiences in other MMOs. But it's not game feature that's set in stone. ESO has a different type of endgame, and as a result these people can't (or are not willing to) take the time and understand that it is different from those other MMOs, yet still an endgame in its own right.

It's a situation of 'damned if you do, damned if you don't', trying to deal with the those unwilling evolve their views as the games around them do. Everyone says they want something new and different, but with difference comes the necessity to have to think in a new way about the change and adapt. to see things in a new light. Sadly as a result, these players more often than not take the easier route of dismissing the change, and putting it (and those that have adapted/support it) down. They recite and regurgitate stats and scenarios from past MMOs, saying in effect things like 'this is the way it was then, so this is the way it should always be'.

These players hold steadfast to their static notions and find justification agreeing amongst themselves. And they're welcome to do that all they want. But the simple fact is it is not really up for debate: Zenimax themselves said the endgame in ESO starts at VR1. Anyone that's actually played the game in the manner in which is intended knows this.

Players that choose not to believe this however are usually just setting themselves up for frustration and confusion in-game. Both emotions often bleed over the forums, and by the responses here in this thread and on the forums as a whole; it's clear reading that many have. It is sad, but it is what it is.
If you can be anything, be kind.
