Hi.

In the quest " Shadow of sancre tor", i cannot seem to get past the bossfight Mannimarco. I am a level 43 archer, i got a level 43 epic bow and the rest of my gear is level 40'ish green random.

Each time he summons his ghosts, i just drop dead in seconds. I dont know how to deal with this.
I am a nightblade vampire, but the only healing spell i got that works are Swallow Soul.

In this calculator, ive filled inn what my skills are. Its mainly Bow, Dual Wield, Medium armor and Vampire.
I got 10 spare skillpoints to set from gathering shards today.

http://esohead.com/calculator/skills#mcRz9s85bp7XMdBvT6MdBvj6MdBEI6MdBEp6cdBET8t7tAsgW6zwUlN6zwYle6MwYlv8g7XrsXy6LsXx6dsXt6qsXg6MipLW6MipL46MippV6Mippo6Mippq8C7gdzqa6Azqq6MGFWc6MGFWi6zGFWA8D7Jrzdm6rzdR6MIsaM6MIrEf6zIrEh8F7BLzrJ6cbuy6zIPAv8Y7oMfJu6bfJI6MfJN6zjFYd6zjKBj857azx3TH6cx3TJ6cx3TO6Mx3T38zf7zzNbo8zu7zzHfYE6zHfZd8zG7zzHQ3F8zI7zzJIoX6zJIkL8zN7zzJZcY8zA7zzKpUN8zL7zzK4EX

Can someone please explain and help me get past this quest. What skills i need to use as an archer etc to get trough this.

I went it through with NB Bow/DW though might have used the DW more in that fight. Thing is that immediately when you see him channeling that beam up and opening portal for adds you need to concentrate on the adds. They go down pretty fast. Then continue to damage Manni.

My Bow bar basically has all the bow skills in it:
venom arrow, draining shot, scorched earth, acid spray, cant remember the fifth now.

I'd try to acid spray them for area damage and snare so you can move further and shoot again, if someone get's too close then draining shot. Given that it might help to take couple of the skills that I use on DW to here like leeching strikes and crippling grasp for this fight. For the Manni just light attack and venom arrow.

DW bar is then something like:
blood craze, killer's blade, swallow soul, crippling grasp, leeching strikes

Throw in crippling grasp and enjoy the fast movement around the enemies, hit blood craze time to time for dot and constantly do light attacks and also time to time throw in swallow soul and when see enemy on low health killer's blade.

when the ghosts attack I used Drain Power from the siphoning line, 2 casts and all ghosts dead, then you can get back onto mannomarco.

I havnt tried any other AOE but if you don't have Drain Power you might try Scorched Earch / Whirlwind maybe.

I was bloodmage spec, restro staff so slightly different build.

Ghosts have 250-300 HP each. He gives you a gift by summoning them. A huge gift.

    3-4 Killer's Blade's will get your HP to 100%.

The fight is the easiest thing possible with a NB.

I just wanted to update this post that i have completed the quest now.
I got arrow spray to slow down and kill the ghost when they came like syntse did have. I did invest into Siphoning Strikes so i could spam it and heal up on Mannimarco whenever the ghosts was down.
I also took points into the fighters guild passive to deal extra damage to daedra and undead after having talked to the customer support.

I also made sure i was at vampire stage 1 this time. Last time i was at stage 4 and i suspect that the -75% healing regeneration was affecting my healing abilitys during the boss fight, because this time around the fight was much easier.

I am very happy i finaly managed to get past this with leather armor. Customer support said that i was pretty much screwed in this fight because i was using leather armor. Glad i diddent have to be forced to reset my stuff :)

This, the skill is the best skill in game, you have no idea how many times this little skill has saved my but.

To me, this is what makes the game fun...
    Reften
    Bosmer (Wood Elf)
Moonlight Crew (RIP), Misfitz (RIP), Victorem Guild

VR16 NB, Stam build, Max all crafts.

Azuras & Trueflame. Mostly PvP, No alts.

Semi-retired till the lag is fixed.

Love the Packers, Bourbon, and ESO...one of those will eventually kill me.

Relalize you have completed this, but still posting for others' benefits. (And you might still take away a helpful hint for future encounters)

(Good job @Kitsy‌ , first and foremost!)

    Drain Essence...?

You are a Nightblade Vampire...Forget not that you are also a Vampire Nightblade...

While you cannot drain him, as @yelloweyedemon‌ indicates, he provides you a buffet... Have a couple snacks to replentish health, kill them when they're spent, and get the occasonal hit in on Mannimarco. Let the other three keep him off your tail, as they won't die.

    Now to the recommendations:
    • Your health regen does not affect spells unless the spells themselves affect regen.

To clarify, if you have a spell that gives +8 health regen for 10 seconds, at stage 4, you will only get a +2 regen bonus from this.

However, a spell that outright heals you for X hitpoints is not affected by this. A spell that heals you for 100 hp at Stage 1 still heals you for 100 hp at stage 4.
    • In my experience, anytime a fight is that close, the second or two that seems like it would make the difference in regard to regen of any kind usually won't. If you need to live that couple more seconds to regain health via regen (especially when the enemy is throwing ranged at you) it probably isn't gonna happen, or you wouldn't be in the circumstance you are in.

[EDIT] (This is not an indication of your player ability, merely pointing out that you are almost always going to take damage faster than your regen will give it back - vamp or no vamp.)
    • Provision for buffs, re-enchant to switch things around if you need to, and potion often and early... don't wait until you're out. You'll continue to take hits while the potion regens you and the cooldown ticks away.
    • The last point I'll make with this goes along with the health regen and the seemingly pointless nature of it.

Stage 1, you regen better...but Stage 4, your Vamp skills cost less...this leaves you more magicka between feeds for whatever else you need it for.

I find the Stage 4 benefit of reduced cost outweigh the Stage 4 hit on health regen.

There are two Stages worth of grey area in between...give (any fight) a try both ways and one will definitely work better for your playstyle than the other.

Personally, given the crouched figures surrounding the room, I was anticipating something much uglier than the summons he came up with.

(Not unhappy I was mistaken, though!)

(For the record, I just finished this one off last night as L42 Vamp Sorcerer, for the 'you don't know' crowd out there.)

And you can tell CS that leather armor shouldn't affect it one way or the other. I was in light.

    Last piece of advice:
    • Get your armor in sets, if you can...they help and there are great combinations that can stack (you can wear three different sets of 3, for instance) with lots of different added effects. If you can make it, great. If you can't, someone else will happily do so for you. They can make the sets (adds traits), add enhancement traits directly, and then send it off to be enchanted before you put it on (Once you do, it's bound and upgrades only happen via you) The overall effect seems to hold up better and cost less to repair.
I run with a DK regularly and can handle anything he can with full heavy...

Again, well done, and happy adventuring!

@Merlin13KAGL Thank you very much for good and helpful information presented in a positive way. :)

I have always used the Assassins Blade skill as a execute abilitys for when monsters reached 20% life. Since my auto attacks feelt like they did nothing at the time, the thought of using Assassins Blade was never an option. The more you know... lol...
