Do You Spend Too Much Time on the Forums?

I rarely go to game forums. It's been my experience that they are an extremely negative place. If I'm enjoying the game, why read threads and threads about why it sucks? (rhetorical) However, I feel like I made the unfortunate mistake of logging in to the forums recently and seem to have fallen prey to its grasp. I have spent more time here than playing for the last few days.

Do you spend more time here than playing? What is your main reason for utilizing the forums? Any other thoughts about this place?

I definitely spend more time playing. But I probably spend too much time here anyway. Some of the posts crack me up and I enjoy some of the back and forth.

Theres good stuff in here and you can learn a lot. You've already made your own opinion on the game so just ignore the bad. You'd be silly to miss out on the good posts such as the character screenshot post or the Willing to break lore, post where people talk and debate deeply about the actual lore.

From everything I've read, I do not doubt you. My hope is that with my play style being that of very slow leveling, by the time I hit VR it might be better. Then again, maybe not.

No... I only come to the forums when I don't feel like playing anything at the moment. I am usually browsing several forums at once and only read and reply to half a dozen threads that catch my eye each time.

I seem to spend too much time here. Actually I wanted to do some addon development.
But I have also been waiting for the API patchnotes lately, so now that they are out I might be less around.

Dunno. The "ESO bad" messages seem more repetitive and dull then VR could be.
But I guess that is just something we won't be able to agree upon.

This is pathetic. Because people come here and express their dissatisfaction with the state of the game, patch, etc. you assume it is because of a flaw that they were born with?

It is posts like this that have soured this community because those who have provided constructive feedback have to continually defend themselves against ignorance such as this.

Im on the forums all day while Im at work and then I come home and play the game and ignore the forums. A happy balance.

I always check out the forums for any game I play. Usually they aren't filled with quite so much hate. I still check them out on a daily basis, but I'm not really finding the in depth discussions about game mechanics and gameplay that I like to delve into normally on a games forums. I can only hope as this game ages and the forumers(people who forum and don't actually play anymore) will dwindle down and the overall community feeling will improve. Right now it's like a battlefield, you can't post your opinion without people jumping all over it for being "wrong", or nit picking it to death and derailing the original conversation.

My place of work (has to) block these forums. As well as steam and anything else in that direction.
Even some non-youtube video places are blocked.

But they do not get secondary place like ESOUI.com

I generally never visit forums nor am I active on them. This game has completely changed me in that regard.

I used to do exactly the same but now I usually open forums quickly browse through latest discussion to see whether there are any discussions without too much whining... I usually don't find too many of those, though

Corporate IT blocks anything that isnt a search engine. That's why I forum on my phone.
