Elite PvP Guilds /doom ESO

ESO is not an E-Sport: The concept of an "E-sport" is a mythical fantasy. What happens however, is that instead of "winning" the map and taking/holding Emperor, an "elite" guild would much rather farm AP in order to boost their ranks.

As a result... servers including ones with high populations of these "Elite" guilds never go anywhere because they upset the balance of player population. They don't never hold what they take, they don't even care about Emperor most of the time, and the "randoms" that log in are thus clueless to everything. Nobody wins because "Elite" guilds only want to fight other "Elite" guilds and could care less about the End Game to which is the purpose of PvP.

Even if they do try to win (and farm Emperor Title) they will grief the life out of "non-elite" players. It would be better if they simply did not exist in this game in the first place. I don't want a bunch of /epicfail players:

1. Running around and not telling anyone what they are doing

2. Commiting forces (servers have pop cap which makes this a problem) into suicide situations that causes the entire faction to wipe, such as taking random keeps that do not further a strategy

3. Treat everyone else on the server as "lesser humans" such as "randoms" (players not associated with elite guilds)

4. Pretend that they actually are skilled when only few of them actually are

5. Assume that VoiceChat/Teamspeak is the ONLY vaild form of in-game communication and thus anything else is trash

6. Create "farming situations"... whereas intentionally losing in order to pull aggro to a keep... thus farming the inc players for AP

7. Disrupting chats by insulting players in /zone or otherwise

8. Hostile to thier own faction... treating them like enemies instead of the rival factions

9. Refusing to help new players (or even acknowledge their existance) learn PvP

Why should you care? Do you want the game to go F2P and/or be shut down? IT will if you "ban" 95-99% of the player base; who pays the subscription fees that fund this game from PvPing, for not being "good enough". Elite guilds only serve to destroy their own enviroment... like overpopulation. Until they understand this concept they will nuke one game's PvP after another. This "griefing" will never end until the "rest of us" realize this same-faction domestic violence is occuring and thus stand up to it so.

UPDATE: I got a new reason to add to list...
10. Guilds bail a server because the player(s) in first doesn't wish to give it up to be Emperor farmed (thus plunging server into chaos)

....looks like my server (EU DAWNBREAKER) is about to be /doom as well...

Thus the "community" of DAWNBREAKER has been completely been destroyed simply due to actions of what appears to be at least 4 elite guilds leaving. This destroys the ability for anyone else on the server to enjoy the game as well.

I cannot rebuild Rome in a day... and thus this server, to which EP dominated, is lost to DC until ZeniMax finally shuts it down: ZeniMax's intention to shutdown all PvP servers is thus a self-fullfilling prophecy.

As a result I am lost to the game as well it is so...

Not sure what server you are on, but I haven't seen anything like this on the EP side of Wabba...of course, our non-voice comm PUGs usually roll right over most opposing groups.

except the part where most guilds think voicecomms are a necessity for pvp and everyone who doesn't want to listen to their nerd rage is bad. I like my in-game sounds to be the only thing I hear...helps with immersion and makes the game a lot more fun.

Hardcore pvp guilds do not farm AP. Hardcore pvp guilds want to stomp on your face after pwning you...AP is a bonus...

Anyone farming anything is not hardcore in any sense of the word...except when used with the word 'farmer'.

OP got rolled by an organized guild and is crying on the forums about it. See some of his past posts to get an idea of what kind of game he wants ESO pvp to be.

Well to be completely fair, OP, randoms/pugs/whatever you hear them called are nominally a disorganized clueless mess asking questions like "Can we take Drake now, I have this mission for it" or "where are you guys at, im at keep X (on the other side of the map)"

Typing goes so far, and some people cant even seem to READ much less follow instructions. Voice comms, as much as I personally get annoyed at how loud/barking it can get, are absolutely vital to a serious push on a competitive server for anything more than a random resource.

It slays me how even when the groups intent is forwarded to other field commanders/leaders, they still ignore suggestion and do what they damn well please, usually to the detriment of the overall plan. Extending too far, spreading thin, going entirely the wrong way, falling into an OPFORs oiltrap and screaming for help when everyone else knows better, etc.

....looks like my server (EU DAWNBREAKER) is about to be /doom as well...

    1. Half the time /zone chat of the major campaigns has spies. If we tell people what we're doing it's in private /tells direct to raid leads.
    2. Back capping, whether it be resources or keeps, is a valid strategy. Forcing the enemy to redirect a larger force than is on one of their home keeps/resources means you're winning the attrition fight somewhere else.
    3. Puggies are people, too!
    4. I have no skill whatsoever. I slam my head into the KB to fight. Then again, I'm a DK.
    5. Teamspeak/Ventrilo is VASTLY superior to chat in both ability to voice intent of action and speed of response. Any attempt to argue otherwise is foolish. Communications that don't require rapid response can use /chat all you want (overall orders like 'Go capture Castle Brindle'), but things like 'Flankers, east!' may not be seen until too late.
    6. See 2. Keeping a larger force busy with a smaller one is how you win at attrition in a game with unlimited respawns. Plus farming makes characters stronger as they gain alliance ranks and skill points.
    7. Use /ignore and report.
    8. Until I can gank an EP that just stole my ballista, that's hard to do.
    9. I help where I can, personally, but I am not spending my sessions running a PVP tutorial. That's where good guilds can help you. It behooves you to make friends/guildmates and to find helpful people. You have a responsibility in your social situations to be an active participant in making that situation fun for yourself.
    10. Its entirely reasonable for someone who wants to be emperor to swap if they feel they can't catch the #1 on the leaderboard -- whether he won't drop or their AP gain just doesn't match the leader's.

We are running with our guild raid too. It can be only two parties or 2 big raids - doesn't matter
But we all are in the same TS channel, we all are speaking russian.
It's pretty boring when tons of randoms around are spamming "inv me, inv me, inv me!!!111111oneone" - we will not inv you, damn!

    1. Sure we can say to anothers what we are planning to do, but we are not must.
    2. And? Who call you to this suicide situation? We are wiped too here, do not forget. Dislike it - didn't listen anyone and continue doing your own business
    3. Never seen in /zone, but yes, you are right: 99% of randoms didn't have any idea how to play their own class. I even didn't say here about ability to fight against some classes, knowledge of your enemy class, etc.
    4. Most of big PVP-guilds players are. Not all, sure, but most.
    5. Yes, this is true. Also, I never seen an enemies who will give me enough time to type something in chat. Do you?
    6. Yep. More AP, more assuilt/support skills, more powerful we are. Obvious.
    7. Never seen, but this is pretty bad. Ignore'n'report.
    8. Unfortunately, there is no free-PVP, but personally I want this. Yes, it's pretty annoying when randoms doing some actions what hostile to you. As it said before: stealing sieges and starting to fire in random directions. Just one example.
    9. Sorry what? I wasn't born with knowledge of TESO PVP, so this "new" players are able to learn all of this by theirself, also as we are did it before.
    10. Didn't understand it, sorry.

I agree in some ways with OP in regards to including more than your own tight group, but there is a problem in zone with spies and erroneous information given. Following a successful group and helping and later asking for an invite can work...if you have been participating and being noticed. Or start another group while following.

Guilty as charged, but in fairness... For instance on Bloodthorn last night, when us "elite" players said to pull back and let EP take some keeps (Since the entire map is blue) the DC zerg camped their spawn gate with 60 people.

I get the "For teh realm!" thing... but what fun is it when there's no one to fight? That's where "elite" players start to get pissy with the "randoms". We could be in an amazing 4 vs 4 fight, and here comes 12 people to add in on the fight and steamroll the enemy. Hell, let us die and then kill them!

There's nothing wrong with zerg surfing. Sometimes you can seriously contribute, too.

Ran into a pickup scroll raid once (yes, I was out solo ganking). I pulled out my resto staff and slotted Barrier. Kept them up and running and popped Barrier every time it was available. Puggies got the scroll and survived last minute enemy reinforcements. Scroll ended up back in the scroll temple.

You can always help, even if you're 'leet'.

    1. Running around and not telling anyone what they are doing

Did you ever try working with them and using their type of force for what they are good at? The problem I see on every campaign I have played is a lot of big headed leaders that want to lead everyone rather than coordinate amount the different leaders of the various types of groups on the map.
    2. Commiting forces (servers have pop cap which makes this a problem) into suicide situations that causes the entire faction to wipe, such as taking random keeps that do not further a strategy

Why is the entire faction in one spot to wipe? The map is large for a reason. Further an elite group isnt going to be dragging the entire server to a spot to fight with them, that just makes them a zerg.
    3. Treat everyone else on the server as "lesser humans" such as "randoms" (players not associated with elite guilds)

Because this thread is any better then that?
    4. Pretend that they actually are skilled when only few of them actually are

Not all of them are skilled, but if they are willing to play in a more coordinated fashion they will get there.
    5. Assume that VoiceChat/Teamspeak is the ONLY vaild form of in-game communication and thus anything else is trash

If you do not want to listen on voice chat than join a group that does not use it. What difference does it matter to you if a group leader prefers to use voice chat? It is his/her group, their choice.
    6. Create "farming situations"... whereas intentionally losing in order to pull aggro to a keep... thus farming the inc players for AP

    See #1.
    7. Disrupting chats by insulting players in /zone or otherwise

See #3. Takes two dumb people to have a dumb conversation.
    8. Hostile to thier own faction... treating them like enemies instead of the rival factions

See #1 and then read this thread.
    9. Refusing to help new players (or even acknowledge their existance) learn PvP

No idea where this comes from, I help folks all the time. I wont do it in zone chat, but anyone that whispers me and as long as I am not busy I will answer any questions they have.

Fixed that for you. Since about half of most zergs are made up on undergeared sub 50s with access to only half of their skills, it is not necessarily skill that is winning these fights for you. Not saying it can't be, but squashing a hundred ants isn't proof that you are good.

I wouldn't point the finger at pvp centered guilds, to me it just sounds like there are some people on your server that are just ass-hats. A lot of top pvp guilds welcome new players all the time. I understand your frustration with people being rude, but I do disagree with your position about voice communication.

Voice chat IS the best way to communicate in any PvP game, that requires teamwork.

I like how this one is titled 6 vs 100+ when theres literally not more than 30 unique enemies in this video. On top of that, a majority of the enemies seen are not even VR1+. Its the same people running back in from a camp.

Don`t let the guy fool you, he has a personal vendetta against any pvper who might enjoy himself getting better. He did the same in GW2, started drama threads where he announced doom of gaming because of competitive play.

He`s a forum drama queen that got deeply hurt somewhen in the past, must be ages ago, because even 2 years ago when gw2 launched, he couldn`t answer the question who initially offended him. But he made a lot of threads like this nonetheless.

And he will be the first claiming that all the accomplishments of his server/alliance/team are due to his endless efforts and genius strategies...

The thing with being under geared and under leveled is that you need to adjust your game play for that reality. I can play AvA fine as a lower level, I just need to recognize I am more support of those around me at this point.

This has been true for every game I leveled late or leveled an Alt. This game is a bit worse than most as far as the up-level system, but it is manageable.

I tried that for a couple weeks, but I got bored and frustrated healing people who weren't killing anyone half the time, while stifling my own leveling. Even at V3 it can be tough doing significant damage to a V12, but I can make them work for the kill because I have access to all my skills now. I don't mind a disadvantage in a fight, but the different between a geared v12 and a sub-lvl50 is so big they should not be in the same instance. Even with bolstering your strongest attacks will be shrugged off and healed by in-combat health recovery, while you get 2-3 shot in return.

If you knew how many times small-group guilds with elite geared and max level players helped your faction by holding up twice their numbers you'd probably stop raging and go get better at PvP.

Fixed that for you. Since about half of most zergs are made up on undergeared sub 50s with access to only half of their skills, it is not necessarily skill that is winning these fights for you. Not saying it can't be, but squashing a hundred ants isn't proof that you are good.

I'm still amazed that people sign up to be fodder...I stopped pvping until I hit V1 for the most part for these reasons.

Fixed? There are plenty terrible V12's out there dying to low VR's every day. Get better at PvP.

WHy is E-Sports a mythical fantasy? Because you say it is? Clearly it is not a mythical fantasy since it exists.
