pvp reward....

So Im sure most of us were excited when we logged on today to find out what the pvp campaign reward was after waiting 3 months. BUT then immediately went to cancel their subscription when all we got was like 30k gold.... I think that was probably the final straw for most of us...

Cool, 30k. Now ik can finally buy me some sweetrolls.

To be honest... i am V8 almost 9 and have only spent money on levelling my horse which is already done and repair. Don't know what to do with my money, so ill just throw the 30k on the pile and keep on PvP'ing.

Also, all PvP rewards are worthless. The stuff you buy from PvP vendors are way worse then my CE treaurechest loot and the items send by mail for PvP are always staffs and heavy armor which i both don't use on my NB.

I am vet level 5 so I was thinking to try pvp. Are you saying it is not worth it? I hear people are not only frustrated with lags/fps etc in Cyrodil, but now with rewards being rubbish...Grinding through veteran levels has been a nightmare so I thought pvp would be a reward for me once I get to max level...

If your goal in Cyrodil is amassing gold, you're doing a lot of things wrong.

Look -- PvP here is pretty darned fun. It awards skill points, random gear, titles and the joy of 'outskilling' some dude when you catch him on his horse, reading a map while eating a sandwich. If you have a regular group of 2 or 3 friends, an active campaign can be awesome.

That's the reward. The gold is just a little bonus.

I had to chuckle at this as you referred to catching a dude on his horse as outskilling him.. I loled as I am pretty sure you must be joking in using that terminology. I really hope you dont think catching a dude on his horse stun locking him and killing him is skill.

Yes the reward was lame but as previously mentioned zenimax excels at letting their customers down so that was to be expected.I can only hope that the leader board guys got something cool. After all their time commitments to get up there must have been decent.

Laughable reaction. I was actually positively surprised. Was not even on the winning side. What the heck did you expect? A monument? Parade in your player capital city (which would have been funny, but pretty sure you'd even would have complained more) ?

I would have settled for several slices of Applewood Smoked Bacon (the thick cut version, not that wimpy thin stuff) but now that you mention it, a parade or even a Mundus Stone in my honor would be fantastic.

I could think of a ton of things that would have been good rewards.

Top 10 of each Faction: Daedric Steed (Horse in full daedric armor) + Daedric Knight Costume (maybe some daedric armor that actually looks good?)
Top 50 of each Faction: Knight Costume + Battle Steed (Horse in full armor)
Top 100 of each Faction: Armored Steed (less armor then Battle Steed)

Listing these makes sense to me now. To give good rewards they would have had to add things to the game, when they don't even know how to fix what already exists. EL OH EL

A deadric steed? Ive been to coldharbor and fought lots of deadra during my travels in tamriel. Think I missed to see that one tho? on the other hand; If its some preference of bedroom fantasy you try to share with us, then its to much info mate! lol

The same think the top 500 got. If you won your campaign and got the tier 3 reward, you get 42k gold. Gold is fine, but I admit, it would have been nice to get something 'cool'. A new title, achievement, something along those lines. Ehhh maybe next time yeah?

You casual players, you make my left eye start to twitch at the mention of these "rewards"...ungrateful swine. Opening a can of frustration on your enemy and jumping up and down on his corpse is reward enough. That's enough of that nonsense.

I guess people like OP are those who I have to thank for creating [snip] unlock [snip] in FPS games... Because they need their "reward" for playing. Me? I want to buy shooter game adjust gear to my playstyle and go to have fun.

PVP campaign reward was nice I must say.
I don't want to see superior gear and stuff like that. Why do people in MMOs feel the need to be stronger in stats over others?

I bothers me when people use something to "look cool" or emphasize a point when they have no idea what it means. This whole /*word* in particular has be terrible, more so than the hashtag crap, but at least the hashtag made sense. I can even get ones like the /rant that deviates from the /thread but still works. What the eph is /unsub supposed to mean. End unsub? Close unsub? Finish unsub? Done /unsub? Quit /unsub? It essentially undermines and discredits the whole post (for me anyways).

Sure it's probably nitpicking, but oh well.

Getting on topic though, currency is a common prize for pvp tournaments. I'm not really sure why anyone is surprised by this. Maybe the top player could have got something special like title or something, but I wouldn't have expected it, especially since it was not announced before hand. There really was no proposed reward ever listed for winning that I ever saw, so I'm not sure why it was expected.

He man i didn't say it was a bad thing. All the rewards are crap yes, but for me the fun is PvP itself (and thus the reward itself)

I am not spoiled, but why not just email me some gold instead of some green useless piece of armor/weapon). Saves me to empty my inventory all the time. And i PvP a lot so i get to many emails woth items

Anyway, a costume would be a cool reward for me, I like the idea. Horses with new skins would be nice too.. But personally I play pvp for having fun, not for rewards $:\$

i got 42k

after respeccing twice in recent weeks because the game was essentially unplayable as a templar stamina build in veteran areas, i was quite happy to fill my wallet back up again.

i was down to like 15k, i'm now back up to nearly 60k - i can at least afford to respec again now if they break me again next patch.

i could even buy a new horse!

i guess it depends on what people were expecting as rewards i guess - tbh, i wasn't expecting much, kept my expectations low and i'm fairly happy with 42k gold.

edit: i was reward tier 3 btw. dont think there was a reward tier 4, but i was like 500th in line for emporer or something stupid as i hadn't pvp'd competitively since the craglorn patch. was up to 300-ish at one point though, auriels bow EU

god...the issue here is the NINTEY DAY end of campaign "reward". If theyre going to reward people they should have at least made it memorable.

You can make any argument you want, but a 90 day campaign on Wabba where I was on 4 different pvp guilds teamspeak and ventrillo trying to win and getting into some major battles only to check a mailbox and have something as plain and generic as gold given to me is the worst thing eso has done so far.

For those of you who know Ultima online, their is a free server right now that does campaigns and events similar to cyrodiil. At the end of these events the winners received a statue and plaque with their names on it and statistics. These items were unique and no one else had them. This should have been done in eso.

The entire cyrodiil reward system is lackluster and so is the gear, which by the way continues to get ninja nerfed. Of all the cool things that could have been given to the first years war campaign in Cyrodiil, you gave gold. FFS why? I could think of so many better rewards.

i feel it is fair to point out though, that throughout this 90 campaign, there were many MANY game breaking and balance breaking bugs that were exploited to high hell - giving players that exploited their way to the top the best of the best rewards would not have gone down well with the majority of the community.

i expect the rewards for the second set of 90 day campaigns to be a little more memorable than just gold.

whilst some of you may be upset at a gold reward, in the grand scheme of things, it's probably wise considering all the mitigating circumstances surrounding those receiving the top rewards.

Based on what? I mean what have they done to show you that makes you think they are going to deviate from the gold as a reward scheme? There are numerous threads complaining about things that cost GOLD not "wow I really want something more shiney" or "help me be a special snowflake".

besides, i said a little more memorable, not a lot. i was fine with gold, it's the others whining about it being only gold.

i was merely pointing out the reason why it might have only been gold, because it was horrifically unbalanced and exploited severely.
