Question about unsubbing

So...question: if you have an active sub and go to your account to unsub, can you still play the game until your time runs out?

The reason I ask is b/c in their first month, you had to have an active sub or you couldn't play. I am a forgetful person and don't want to just leave my sub as it is, but I also might want to play for my remaining time - and longer, if the game becomes compelling later.

Yes. You can unsub your payment plan and you will still be able to continue using any time that you have already purchased.

On that topic... is an "unsub" terminal for your toons or is there a possibility to come back at a later date, once beta testing is over, and pick up where you left off?

It should not be terminal for your toons.

You can pick up exactly where you left off at the time of the last day you were subscribed.

They did tell me that, if I was unhappy, I could contact them via these forums - on the "contact us" part.

But I think there's enough explanation on these forums. I'm not going to take the time to re-write all my gripes there.

It's beautiful, it's got all the stuff that I want exactly: dungeon crawls, sword and sorcery (or...just sorcery), huge worlds, great guild system (except for the unsearchable stuff), a not-annoying crafting system, quests.

At least they're working on player housing - the bare minimum for sandbox, player affect the world stuff.

I agree with the boring comment. I had to do a quest to locate people hiding from the enemy. Not very hard to do when there is an arrow pointing you to them and then another arrow over their head. I like exploring but the quests just do not hold my interest. I spend more time running around to treasure chests than I do questing.

There is an option to turn those "boring," as you say, arrows off.

You know, I will.

Here's the thing...the game map is huge. Open. How are you supposed to find the next objective if it's not well described for you?

But yeah, I'll turn them off as per your suggestion and see what happens.

Yes. You can turn off the arrows over quest givers and you can turn off the list of quests on the right side of the screen but the objectives stay on your compass and the arrows remain over objective characters.

Ah. Thank you for the information. That kind of sucks, but ok. My point stands - go here, click click, go here, click click.

I guess it's good. I'd like the option in case I'm totally lost - and the world is enormous - but...wow, imagine that you'd just taken a new job and some crazy 'I must show you everything' micromanager takes you by the hand and leads you around...everything. You can't absorb it, you're baffled and slightly annoyed...and then, after s/he's gone, you're left with figuring out what to do.

Yeah, fun.

Nope, they don't send that email to everybody. They only sent me one email that states:

"This message confirms that you have successfully cancelled your subscription to The Elder Scrolls Online. You will no longer be charged for a subscription on a recurring basis, and your access to the game will expire at the end of your current subscription cycle.

Despite that people already answered the question, i just thought I would post this directly from the source. All unsubbing does is prevents the automatic renewal charge at the end of the currently paid subscription. FYI - You can't cancel, say a 6 month sub, 1/2 through and get 3 months of money back. They don't micro manage that way, which I didn't expect them to, but just in case anyone was wondering.

But yeah, I'm still waiting on my email asking me why I un-subbed.

Edit: Then again, maybe the reason they didn't send me an email is due to the fact I flooded them with /feedbacks... "Oh that's a good idea Fryman, call the police... Why didn't I think of that?? Ohhh, they stopped taking my calls long ago." - Carl Brutananadilewski

Yep you can play until the time previously paid for ends. Also you have no exit survey which is a shame. I was expecting one that had catagories like, I played a Templar and / or melee class etc..

I'm pretty sure they'll keep them. They'll probably offer people incentives to resub after a while, like free time too.
