Puncturing Sweep Heals?

How much does it heal? The reason I ask is I am not wanting to drop the 25k to respec.

I was wondering about this myself. I've already morphed to Biting Jabs. This change to Puncturing Sweep though may convince me to respec?

Can someone post what the tooltip says?

here's an "old" link to videos in different gear from the PTR. I have no clue if they represent the true value on live now but it might give you a hint, i doubt they changed it much.

Yes I was considering respec as well but feared the life gain would be low plus the huge cost to respec for one morph decided me not to. I really thought with these skill changes they would reset the skills grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Don't you have any other skills you might wanna change or try out while your at it? I'm still downloading patch and I'm gonna respec as soon as i come in to try this ability out, probably switch around some others also. Costs me 26 000 to respec.

After some testing i must say this ability is insane.

I can pretty much drop the healing ability of my solo bar if I want to.

Before I had problems with a pack of 3 mobs in v10 area, because I had to use so much mana on healing I didn't have anything else left for dps. It was a constant balance between dps and healing, draining my mana extremely fast (v12 in full legendary).

Now i just killed 2 packs! (6 mobs) at the same time (same packs I had problems with yesterday) and had mana over to use other abilities like blazing spear speeding up the time of the fight a lot

But i guess on the other hand it's pretty sad that 1 single ability change can make things change that much. But however it's in the right direction for Templars.

I'm looking forward to future changes of Templar abilities.

I would recommend every solo Templar to respec to this ability and never take it of the bar, even if it costs you 30k+ gold to respec.

    @DeadBynow here's your answer ;)

After more testing i'm actually expecting a nerf on the healing, maybe something in the line of a maximum amount of target i can gain heals from. I can almost kill any size of pack with this ability.

I gotta say this is stupid seems how a lot of templars were always complaining about sorcs with critsurge doing damage and healing but they only get 65% of the damage done as a heal and it is only for crits as for this templar skill is a damaging skill itself not needing a buff before hand to drain it's resource and it will always heal you for 60% reguardless of a crit or not I see many complaints coming for this skill and don't get me wrong I don't hate it myself I am just commenting on this from what I have seen through forums since the beginning. So it is just my thoughts on what will happen.

I would still take the sorcerer one. It works on every skill, and the more you crit the more you heal. Crazy good.

The Templar one is good. But keep in mind it is melee, channelled and only on Puncturing Sweep.

Which do you think is better?

Hopefully they wont nerf it. Honestly in a 1 vs 1 scenario it isnt that powerful, its only when you use it on large amounts of targets that is becomes an effective heal. As far as AvA if the enemy is stupid enough to group up for a circle jerk then we deserve the healing.

And the biggest difference between this and Crit Surge its that Temp is a healing class. We can actually heal for more than this ability with a single button press, now they've simply made it possible to do so while DPSing large amounts of enemies.

    In before nerf.

First rule of MMO's: if it feels powerful, it WILL be nerfed.

Second rule of MMO's: it doesn't have to feel powerful to be nerfed.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

I have been using biting jabs, but this new puncturing sweep sounds really nice.

For those who were using jabs before, do you feel it is a worthy switch?

Do you miss the dps from the increased crit provided by jabs and were you using other aoe skills? Like volcanic rune, solar barrage, etc?

I'm only level 47 so have had no issues with packs of enemies, although public delves are more tricky since you get 6 or 7 at a time...

I hope they don't nerf it. The Puncturing Sweep heal makes me enjoy tanking with my Templar again. I feel like I have the survivability of a tank instead of getting wrecked when I have 3 trash mobs beating on me.

I switched from biting jabs. There's no chance you ever miss biting jabs. Puncturing sweep is awesome, even more when you hit vet content.

I dropped both my heal on the bar and vulcanic rune for my solo build. Have no need for either of them with this change.

I really want to do this.... But as of right now, that is the only skill I want to change, at VR1 it's 11k gold to do so. All that gold to respec everything when there is only 1 ability I wish to change.... Due to a change in a patch that failed to provide refunded skill point for said ability change.... And as very accurately pointed out, it will only be a matter of a very short time before they nerf this thing. I'd hate to blow 11k for nothing.

I'd love to start another thread about this re-speccing issue, but too many a-holes just start lecturing about what you "should" deal with or what not.

Just another thing to add to my list of things I am learning to hate about ZOS.
"There is no moisture in your angry stares." - Laughs-at-All
"I don't know why I bother guarding you horrible people." - Orama Sadas
"Scales here is about to have a really bad day..." - Valeric
"Just tell me what you're doing here before I turn your heart into a tomato..." - Sereyne
"Break those rocks! Dig those ditches! Why??? Because I want you to!!!" - Ifriz the Unraveller
"There are worse masters than I. Far worse." - Molag Bal
"I humiliated the Daedra in Mehrunes Spite." - You, when turning in a specific Undaunted Daily.
"I'm not finding YOU very pleasant!" - Adla the Brewer
"Old Ri'hirr likes his birds slow and stupid!" - Old Ri'hirr
"When things get dirty... Oh, I get so flustered." - Meredil the Archivist
"Too many Argonians about these days..." - Davon's Watch Guard back at launch (though I think this one has been removed from game)

I spent 8.5k to respec it.

It does take one more cast than biting jabs to kill the mob.

My recommendation is not to use up all the skill points next time you respec, only spent as minimum as possible.

This is easily doable, since you probably already know what skills you use, and what skills you never use. This can save you thousands next time you respec, which you will, since they change skills all the time.

This is sort of what makes it funny to me. Almost all melee templars were using this ability already in one morph or the other, why buff the crap out of it? Oh well i guess when you only have 5 skills you cant do a whole lot. It just seemed silly, buff the one ability everyone is already using.

Happy with the change. It, together with the lighting stuff, are two very encouraging things. Makes me have to take back a little bit of the "risk adverse" feeling I'd been applying to ZOS.

I don't see how it could be terrible in PVP, you'd have to group up people in melee and so forth. Leave it be a while. It gives Temps a bump in PVE, which they sorely needed. Go on to other things.....respecs/banks/AH/UI stuff.
