Enjoying the game

ynotndalton
As a new player coming in.. fan of mmo's and elder scrolls i'm actually enjoying this game quite a bit... Zos please don't go free to play ever.... Fix the phasing issues... look at the to addon downloads and incorperate those into your game... minimaps things like that .. loot filtering.. even if they are just menu options so ppl that want immersion can have it if they want... but ppl seem to overlook one great aspect of your game... i actually want to quest and listen to the questlines and want to explore... when in other mmo's its just filler.. don't give a crap about the questlines and don't ever leave the main path to next quest. the biggest 2 things atm tho are quality of life issues and phasing issues... and for the love of god give us an AH even if you have to make the rarest items not sellable on it... thats the whole point right.. not to dilute the market with rare items... but honestly the Hype of it being a bad game is stupid as its not... and i feel it will get better.
But please don't go free to play ... omg i hate those.

they have had many questions about free to play and have stated they will not be. Just because the vocal people out there like to run about to all the new mmo's and shout "f2p lol" like those crazy doomsday people who have those big boards on that shout really loudly so people will listen to them, does not mean its failing.
People like you, me and more are really enjoying this game and knowing that this hasn't been out for very long but we already have 2 big updates and can see the improvements coming along(not as fast as some people would like, but then again when they do come down to add the fixes, people are complaining about that too. So what does the community really want?).
We have seen communication by the staff quite a few times and showing that they are not ignoring anyone because this hasn't been out for long.
(no mmo is ever going to have a fully happy player base because the vocal community are people who feel compelled to list all the things they want)

enjoy your experience, I know I am.
Make the most of it! We are not restricted as much as other mmo's,
we can actually mix and match and find things that are surprising and enjoyable if we try. I have been.

Grab a couple trade guilds. If you find some popular larges ones, you will not find a lack of items you need. There is really no need for a one stop AH outside of some sort of convenience? you still have to go there, you still have to search for your item and pay someone. Its not hard to find a large trade guild and you have 5 guild slots.

Anyway, waaay to much negativity on all mmo forums for ages, doubt it will stop anytime soon due to how lots of people seem to enjoy that.

Great that you added a cheerful and hopeful topic!

See you out there fellow adventurer!

Actually we complain about the 3 new bugs for every fix that comes. The game is still very enjoyable, and if you are still in your levelling process, most of these new game breaking bugs don't affect you in most cases

Anyone know of a popular large trade guild ... one that seems to simulate AH..
Ya its killing me how much negativity this game has atm when its actually just what i was looking for... single player feel but mmo

Only real issue i find with the game is the UI.. very lacking in feedback and quality of life.. but i'm sure they will keep revamping it .. hopefully they will look at the popular addons like the minimap lol

I'm still completely enjoying ESO, my wife quit weeks ago. It's not for everyone.

That said, my wife doesn't run to the forums and complain about it not being for her... Instead, she's playing Archeage, because that IS for her.

I'm V12, have been since a week after Craglorn... and I still have tons to do. I farm skill points, PvP, create new gear (I actually have both a melee and caster setup for easy switching- 220 skill point setup)... Yeah, I'll eventually run out... but that's what Cyrodiil is for- and hopefully they'll add some fluff content soon (Housing?? Mounts? Grindeable reputations, for gods sakes, give me a grind!)

I would like to see an AH but I think having regional markets would be a better idea. For example; Things you find or craft in Auridon can only be listed/purchased on the Auridon market and make it that way in each zone.

and I'm loving the game also :)

I think it will get better with time... delaying release on consoles was a good idea til they get it smoothed out. Does anyone know if pc players will play with console players

I think the game has tremendous potential. So far, I am loving the experience and having fun exploring and questing. I take my time to explore everything and do not rush myself. I have a lot left to look forward to, even as a VR 7 player. Do I come across bugs from time to time? Of course! But I know they are working to fix these issues, you just have to have patience.

Ya i havn't been this excited to log into a mmo since early wow days... even better than ff honestly.. its way more polished but still feels like a generic themepark.. eso has more of that single player world feeling to it...

Well, dont get me going on NEEDING an AH cuz you wont like the FACTS!!!(ooops, to late) I have 5 guilds and they are almost empty. One of the guild leaders is very fervent at getting new recruits and still that guild only has a hand full of active players. AND you CANT ALWAYS find what you need in a damn worthless guild store and it take hours of searching to only find out that all 5 guild stores dont have what you want!!! AND you see all the spam in zone chat to sell things? YEAH...thats cuz the damn guild store dont work and people know that. Thats why we have all the spam in chat....ignore the facts if you wish cuz I'm sure Zenimax has to much pride to actually give people a very much so needed AH. Pfft...all this fricken wondering what items sell for, with an AH you would have a sales history and actually know the going price for items not this damn guessing. And its a one stop shop for what you want and actually find it up on the AH. Lets say they add an AH but also left the guild stores in place. I bet you a million bucks that guild stores would become almost instantly extinct in a heart beat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:) Sorry, you got me going on the whole AH thing cuz its a huge subject for me! Its worked GREAT in all other MMO's so why not in this game? I think it was cool to try something new and I'm sure thats what they was doing but its a clear fail in every way....the facts speak for them selfs slapping you guild store lovers in the face very hard trying to get you to face the facts, the evidence staring you plainly in the face that you and people like you clearly ignore!

I appreciate this, but then again how many bugs were already in there? how many would you expect to arise unexpectedly when new things are added to a complicated code that you'd expect for an MMO?
then how many MMO's have a patch that doesn't add new bugs IF they are adding new things.

it is something an MMO player needs to expect, as there is no precedence for an MMO without these things. Especially within their first few months.

the good thing is though, you do have the option. Just go to an eso mod site and download one that has it. It's allowed, supported. Its part of the game.

No need to wait and that's a good thing.

Even with its bugs, and negative community, I still like this MMO enough to call it my home.

nice to hear a positive post, hope you have many more gaming days of fun.

tip to make life bearable as far as inventory, if you have the imperial edition and get the free mount for each char, go ahead and make some alts and then feed up each of those horses oats to increase by one bag slot per feed. then start using the alts to hold your craft mats, traits etc or other not immediately needed bank items. when you do craft, then play the alt switcheroo to pull out those items as you need them, then back to storage. save your free bank space for drop off from adventuring or to hold stuff you are working on right now.

    cheers mate

Come on though, there are many of us playing since beta and still haven't hit cap.

there are lots that have rushed it. Not saying you have.
But seeing as its... what? 3 months in? I think you are expecting a bit much to have all new stuff every couple weeks when they are showing that that have it planned currently for something every month. even if they did, you'd have people rushing through that in a couple days being vocal on the forums saying its not enough. Sure you'd get bored if you did everything in a game. But New things are coming right? Tis the cycle of MMO life.

If they cant keep players then they will be forced to go F2P. Do I want that to happen? Hell no! I know what F2P dose to a game. Gold sellers have a hay day & the game becomes pay to win. I hate that as well. Aion did that and I have never been back to that game since and never will.
Was a VERY stupid move on their part to give us a beta game as a finished product. That rightfully pi$$ed off many players and they left. Now we are paying them to beta test this game for all the console players. And thats another reason why we had a mass exodus of players all very mad. And so we have negative reviews that crowd the internet. I'm not sure if the game will actually go F2P but I know this, I dont trust what they say about it cuz they will lie to make it seem all good to go but under all the inflated hype the facts speak for them selfs. So, they can say all they want that it will never go F2P but it WILL happen if they go into the red and stay there. Its just business.

    Just my 2 cents

I am happily questing away, trying different character builds, crafting, exploring, taking my time. I don't mind $15/month for quality gaming. I also 100% agree there needs to be an AH. Also joining 5 guilds completely destroys guild life. What point is there in being in a guild when you can't wear the guild name, tags, unique heraldry, etc. People don't care about their guilds as much when they can be in 5 of them at once. I could understand having an alliance of guilds with an alliance guild chat channel that all members of the alliance could communicate through. I have so many members in my guild that just ignore guild chat because they belong to 4 other guilds. That needs to be changed. We also need player housing. The best player housing system I've seen is what everquest 2 has. We should have guild halls and stuff like that too.
    The road leads ever onward...
