Interesting fact: Those ugly thigh plates they stick on every single piece of light armor out there are called:
Faulds or Tassets. At least the ones we have are not anywhre near as ugly as the examples used on this wikipage, aka REAL WORLD examples.

Semi related question, does anyone know if those side plates are part of the CHEST or part of the LEGS when it comes to crafting and the look on your body? Is it possible that maybe they are really part of the leg set and crafting a different leg set may get rid of em?
Even if you have no legs equipped?

The ones on my Dunmer light robe are like twice as long as those ones in the pic! His are tiny compared to mine!
only the last one, previous ones are primal, daedric, ancient elf
Why you made english not so good sound?

They are not optional, they are part of the chest piece and if you wear the chest piece you get them.

I don't think that is the case. Many of the lower level robes have none of these things and I can't see any weird distortion when crouching.nikolaj.lemcheb16_ESO wrote: »The hip plates are there to hide the distortion in your characters hip when you crouch.
They mostly look like they were added to the game late since they do not alter their position on the hip size of your character.
If you play a slim character with small hips then they float far out in the air next to your char.....
Overall they are incredibly ugly but they are there to hide an even worse graphic flaw.
