I like how he avoided all the serious questions. It just tells me two things:
    1. It IS going f2p
    2. They are going to cancel console ports.

Ragnar we agree on alot of things but . i got none of that from that article. When we strt seeing them renig on content updates and focusing on asthetics then we will know its gonna go F2P

Looks at this content update full of just cosmetic fluff.....

Including a new dungeon and Paul talking about adding a justice system with a PvP element. I'm still surprised no-one else seems to be interested in hearing more about that because that seems to me to potentially be a very big game change for PvE content depending on what they do.

A vr12 dungeon I will never see because Im parked at vr2 unable to progress due to the impossible difficulty of VR?

I think most of us MMO vets know that things aren't going so well in Zenny land. But to be fair, they have a gigantic budget to help them through the learning curve. I believe it will be a while before it goes f2p. Even with bad numbers.

You don't want to go to that new dungeon. It's bugged beyond belief regardless.

I think it's hard to get excited about anything with this game right now. We can talk about future content and what not, but the real question is, will it actually work? Based on what I've seen the past few months, I would say no.

Could you please elaborate a little bit on what "Justice System with PVP mode activated upon crime" means? If it means what I think it does, this isn't a new feature, this is makes ESO an entirely different game where this thing called "Crime" causes you be killable by other players.

Exactly, I would like to know what this PvP interaction entails. Is the interaction just an 'arrest' interaction if you see someone stealing or killing or is it a true PvP fight in a PvE zone.

Loved the interview. Seemed straightforward that the host was attempting to push a 'free-to-play' agenda early. He did leave himself open for a business model change, which is only smart to do, as I'm sure the sub/free-to-play argument isn't really his call at all, but people above him.

Smedley screwed up one time by declaring something 'absolutely, positively wasn't going to happen', then ate crow when they made him do it. So this is just necessary now days.

So far, very interested in whats coming. Want more cosmetic fluff, a few new regions, new crime system and guilds, a veteran rework, and waiting for ESO to ban/remove forum access to some specific posters, and I think we'll be tip-top!

I am very curious about this new PVP system which will make ESO a whole different game.

I did like the interview, I believe Paul Sage was straightforward about several of my concerns:

    1. ESO will not be F2P.

    2. ESO will continue to develop new lands which might have new themes like "adventure zone" and this could be good if eventually we have a theme for each playstyle. That would be amazing.

    3. He, like any intelligent corporate person knows that anything can happen and never to say never.

It might not be in the books for ESO to be F2P, and there could be no agenda. Then 2 years from now, someone might put it on the agenda. He stated clearly that there is no F2P agenda. He knows someone above him could come out in 6 months and say: "We think we might look into that" so he isn't going to make a Nullification Statement, he was intelligent.

"As far as I know" is a good way to protect yourself later if someone above you declares "We are going to..." or if down the road "It Happens" for some reason. He isn't going to obligate himself forever. But he did strongly affirm that this will remain a Subscription Based Service.

    Which is a good thing.

Gamers pay for quality in multiplayer games. The original Everquest had a special server with constant new content and events on a daily and weekly basis that cost $50 a month. The average Marvel Heroes and Second Life player pays $50 a month. Many other games like Planetside 2 and Neverwinter yield just as much monthly revenue from players. While these are all examples of high quality products, it's obvious their impact has on the gameplay elements, which almost all negative compared to subscription based games. Subscription based games are the best solution.

Freeloaders can suck it. Go ask your elders what they thought about freeloaders in early 90's video game arcades.

Well they kept their word as they haven't. 'They' being Bethesda, who did not make TESO. Though i look at what imo appears to be a lot of mishandling of the property and i just get a gut feeling that some higher-ups at Bethesda are giving bad advice and the ZOS guys are listening.

Totally agree with the sentiment on F2P however.

We’re looking at adding in the Justice system which is where players can steal from NPCs and the NPCs will react to that, I can kill NPCs and NPCs will react to that. The coolest thing I think about that system is because it’s online we can allow players to not just steal and kill, but they can also become guards and act in justice. So you’ll have a little bit of PvP in the real world in the Justice system.

I wonder if those who arnt happy with the game...is the sum of users on this forum, cause zonechat in daggerfall, where I am currently exploring, was anything but negative.

Nice work on Dolmens in vet areas! Much harder then lvl 50, but well worth it.

I do not see any free-to-play happening at all. If it was, Zenimax would give in right away and make ESO easy mode, buff everything and make shield bash the best attack in the game....because that is just what everyone wants right? (Sarcasm)

Keep voicing whatever you think. Its a free world. But the fact is, the game is full of players who enjoy the game.
