Rubble Butte: Nerf Storm Atronachs.

This is way too hard even at V

Storm Atronachs are way overpowered, they are immune to virtually everything, kill summoned pets in one hit, their swipe has a range of 20m (I was at 20m away according to my ranged rectile). Their light attacks take away 80% of my health, their AOE is the size of most of the hallways and rooms they are found in, they walk faster than I can sprint with a speed potion.

There is no strategy or talent required to beat them. They are boring, unfun and agitating. They need reduced GREATLY in their power, especially by nerfing Crowd Control effects. Of course, Storm Atronachs are immune to it.

These terrorists also block your progress in the game with quests that force you to solo them. This isn't "Fun" or "Hard" or "Challenging" - it is ridiculous. It would be like boxing Mike Tyson in his prime. It wouldn't be hard at all. Your only chance is to 1-punch KO before he hits you. You either land that shot with loaded gloves or you die, pretty simple, no challenge or difficulty.

I've never been able to solo a Storm Atronach or Gargoyle. There immunities are what make it impossible for me. Trolls and Daedroths should be around the same difficulty, but because they are not immune they pose no threat to me. I'd support a nerf for them, even if it was just to remove the immunity.

Question are you talking about NPC storm Attronachs or summoned Storm Attronachs??

Because if it's the NPC Storm Attronachs, fair enough.
If it's the summoned Storm Attronachs, they're an ultimate and need to be left alone.

You are right. I haven't looked at the hp of SA since the last patch but a VR10 SA in Reaper's March had 5500 more hp than a VR11 SA in Craglorn. They are more or less broken and I say this even if I have killed the bulk of my 'kill 100 SA achievement' solo in Craglorn and Reapers March. if you have the 'right build' right gear, food buffs and some nice 3 buff potion if you start with your ultimate ready. Even with that it's easier to get a group of 2SA +1 Air Atronach add in Craglorn than it in to get a single one in Reapers March. It is even more fun since you have to kill about 5 in order to get the damn quest item to drop.

In my opinion it is not really good balance to require you to be ready for a raid to get a lousy quest done but what do I know? I am VR12 filthy casual.

The mobs. Nobody really cares about the summons. I never actually had to fight one of those in PVP and I doubt they are very effective in PVP. I only see them used when taking resources by my side.

um, I just killed a bunch, died once or twice but once I got the trick to them (from reading other forum posts) they started to fall pretty good. the trick for my templar healer was to get in close and circle melee kite. always stick behind them, i used biting jabs and healed myself thru their aoe attack. cc didnt work on them at all so my only option was to just get in close.

not being snarky, just giving the tip that helped me

edited: i reread and realized that you were talking about vet mobs, I was talking about lvl 48? in rubble butte

I was ready to summon my Storm Atronach to attack the OP, but realized they are referring to NPC Storm Atronachs.

    Agree. Carry on.

Fair enough, overpowered NPCs should always be rebalanced.

I have been able to defeat the Vet5 version as a Vet4 melee NB by reducing their damage as much as possible, then burning them down asap.

Put a pair of Shades on the SA (-15% damage output), and stand in veil of blades (-60% damage taken). Combined these cause me to ignore 2/3 of the damage the atronach is throwing at me. Then it's just a matter of doing enough damage to it to kill it before the ultimate expires (17 seconds).

Not having fought these guys yet, not sure if it holds true for them. The general rule in this game is that if you keep dying fighting something, be it a normal mob, a mini boss or actual boss, you are fighting it wrong and need to try a different way.

I don't know about veteran levels yet but does "sparks" maybe work on them? during leveling, that's how i get past gargoyles and such, completely shuts down their melee damage.

I laughed when you called them terrorists :-).

But you are right. I did solo it, but it was like hell! Had to kill it with resto staff.

There was some quest with flame, ice and storm ones. I could kill except the storm one. I jumped at it and got killed :-D. I was like WTF just happend??

Then I killed it with that resto staff.

    Gargoyl is also very strong.
