In defense of VR Content, and Improvement Thoughts

If you look at my comment history, you will find my general thoughts on VR Content (VR content still sucks) LOUDLY expressed.

However, as I approach VR10, I must admit that proceeding through VR content like one does with 1-50 WILL make you a better player. You will have to adapt. You will have to stick and move (no standing still). You will have to interrupt. Probably cost you some respecs. Probably have to pick up a friend or two to help you out. May need to change weapons/armor. But you will become a better player.

There's the honey part, here's the vinegar:

1. Overland trash mods are OP'ed. Hard to even farm with a underpowered crafting alt. This really affects the fun of the game. This is probably the #1 reason the VR content has a rep for being tedious.
2. A lot players, especially like me, first MMO, came for the TES, and casual players with real life limits on their playing, don't have the time to invest in what I did above. However, I still would like some way to keep them in the game.
3. Phasing/grouping issue, along with the first one, is a top complaint. All ready completed the quest? Can't help your friend do it. Some things you can't group for which I think should be change.
4. Empty zones, it gets lonely the top: VR6-10. Finding an active guild, I would highly recommend, but "fixing" some of problems with VR content would help.
5. Immersion fail - the whole logic behind being sent to do the VR content is so thin, you can see through it. I find it a ham-fisted, lazy, sloppy implementation.

VR content (in its current state) is one of those things that (for most) you will absolutely hate doing, but in the future, will begrudging appreciate.

However, I just wish that we could find some middle ground for all types of players, and instead of turning into a plain vanilla MMO.

P.S. VR content still sucks.

P.S.S. Full confession, I'm only posting when I can't be playing, so you know where my true loyalties lie ;). I'm so cranky when I can't be playing.

Except many like me have parked their characters and letting the sub run out because of the insane difficulty to do anything post 50. It simply is very painful and not fun. People quit games they dont find fun. This is the reason you have an entire zone to yourself in vr areas.

Very good points. While kind of grindy, ESO is still my new addiction. Still waiting on the VR improvements that they've been talking about.

I agree with completely, and have almost done the same myself at times.

It's like going from High Scholl ROTC training into Navy Seal training.

I actually really enjoy the VR content so far, on both my Tank DK and Tanky/DW sorc, I just want variety. The lack of main story and fighters/mages guild interaction is really apparent in VR, and I'd love some randomly generated quests/dungeons to interact with then with. Crafting based quests or daily undaunted challenges.

VR is fun for me, I'd just appreciate variety.

I agree with most of this.
Although I have adapted to the difficulty of VR and, yes, become better at the game, it just isn't very fun.
    It feels like a chore.

That said, I do still enjoy playing the game.

    My thoughts...

Trash mobs with quest dungeons etc should be lowered so they are easier and appealing to the solo casual quest going customers with increasing difficulty of course.

Public dungeons and Group dungeons upped so that they really need that group of 4 and might take you 30mins to 2 hours to finish make those challenging for the people who seek for the challenge and stuff to group on. Also rewards should be in par with the difficulty.

Then we have those upper veteran dungeons and adventure areas to those who are v10 or above.

What I generally see in these threads that those more casual players coming from skyrim etc find vet too hard even the trash mobs, then bit more mmo experience under their belt find difficulty ok but questing grind and of course those who have reached the level cap are not having much content yet.
