I love this game, but it needs some type of housing system to survive in the long run, in my opinion. It's not an ES game if I can't create a stupidly large stash of junk in my own personal space.

Even though I never got Hearthfire, I do like the idea of having more endgame content (that's fun) and housing can be interesting if done correctly.

I would be ok for it to be instanced , ESO is not a sand-box , so i dont expect it to change the world and , to me atleast , it is better and faster this way.

But we do need some kind of housing in this game. I did spend quite a while picking a nice mod one for me on skyrim last time.

It's an mmoRPG which stands for massive multiplayer online Role Playing Game, which is basically saying that it includes more than just combat. This isn't an FPS or Chivalry, so combat should not and is not going to be the only focus.

Im all for housing, but Id rather have something pre-made that I can customize. Not sure how adoption would work, given the lack of children in this game (or any "children" that do come up in quests are actually adult models). Not sure how player x npc marriage would work either, since presumably you wouldnt be able to marry essential quest npcs, and those are typically the most interesting characters. Plus, there'd be a whole loy of polygamy going on with many people married to the same npcs. Player x player marriage would be fun (discounting the Pledge of Mara thing), but Im not sure how they'd make shared housing work (not that it would be necessary).

Pets and housekeepers (especially if I can get a Stibbons clone) would be nice flavor, but it would also be fun if they were prone to random bandit attacks like in Skyrim.

Overall, while Id like to eventually see housing in ESO, I think something simple but customizable with amenities would be better.

I would have voted Yes, but at this stage where every patch breaks the game a little more I doubt they have anyone there capable of designing a housing system....

Player housing has now become a standard feature in games. The glaring omission of player housing in ESO is a black eye for the game.

I don't care if it is bare bones, but ZOS needs to find a small plot of land in all 15 of the major faction zones and put a small, instanced cabin or house for players to buy. Once purchased, allow the player to buy features like crafting tables, cooking fires and furniture. Also give the player the opportunity to buy containers or some other mechanism for storing objects in a vault or safe to supplement the limited storage space. Maybe even allow them to hire a steward who is paid to retrieve mats once a day and who can be paid to repair like gear just like a merchant.

These changes would be easy to implement and the gold sinks would keep players in the game, especially if they had 15 houses to purchase and upgrade.

At a later date, ZOS could implement their ideal housing update with a conversion fee or an NPC who will buy your existing house(s) at fair market prices. Everybody wins in this scenario.

It'd have to be instanced, you wouldn't want to see giant housing estates that'd fallen into dereliction as most of the residents had abandoned their homes.

I did not vote because even though I LOVE love love (can't say it enough times) the idea of housing, the idea of marrying npcs and adopting npc kids in an mmo game where you can already marry actual players seems kinda autistic to me!

Not to mention how the annoying kids in Skyrim brought out the homicidal maniac in me...

They have said in one of the look ahead articles or letters that they were planning on adding player housing at some point. They want to do it right and are taking their time to try to make it fit well with the game world.

Bag space and bank space, even horse space.

Short of the trophy places and the garden what do you want houses for?

Honestly, having a house located somewhere in the world and having the option to farm mats to build advancements and having a pet dog that lives at the house would secure my subscription for years to come. This game is already beyond amazing for me, so adding Hearthfire content (which I absolutely loved in Skyrim) would knock this title out of the park for me.

I vote Yes, because I made this poll and I miss it. I miss the gardening, the big kitchen and some place to put the stupid trophies in. They take only place in the bank now. And I miss the house-building. This is not like the Sims. Not at all.

I don't like the War-Content. It is to meaningless and boring. Now you have not even a chance to get the rings of Mara, if you did not buy the right Version of the game. That is lame.

It should be individualized. I would like questing for houses, adoption and marriage and make it choose able, if you want your own Island, a hut in the woods or a cave in a Vulcan (for vampires maybe?). I wish it be possible to be the mayor of your own little village, city or dungeon, recruit people for it and make Quest, that helps to protect the village and let some business grow. You helped many NPC in the game. It would be nice, if you could recruit them later.

Every player should have one place and make something out of it, what nobody else has. Including after making a marriage-Quest-Line, create your spouse by character-creation. Now you have people who send you mats per post. Nobody knows why they do this. That is lame.

And with housing every player should be able to create his/her own Armor and weapon-Set.

But I don't really believe, that they will make this kind of things soon.

I'd still want a boat, not a house. One I can sail off to different ports in the game, just because that would be awesome. One of the best mods for Oblivion was the boat mod.

I also want Glass weapons and armor, a staple of TES games.

And they can do ALL of this right AFTER they fix the Nightblade.

Although I voted yes mainly for the player housing, I don't think we need the option of adoption or NPC marriage. It would be nice to be able to craft my own house as we did with Hearthfire, maybe with a few more options. One thing I don't want is gated communities throughout Tamriel. What I envision is a portal that you can take to your own instance of your property. That instance could be shared with friends with a invite if desired, but anyone else would be excluded, except for the occasional NPC troll, bandit, or quest giver that might come along :) And you can set it up as you wish. A vampires castle, a nice farm, a country cottage next to a stream, whatever they can come up with. You would start out with just the basic house with very few amenities, but that would change either by purchasing improvements with gold, achievements, or another crafting line like carpentry. There can be a lot that could be done with player housing if they do it right. I'm looking forward to it, but I don't think it will happen anytime soon.

I would like this but for a premium amount of gold & maybe a certain level requirement so you have to earn the chance to have more storage space. Storage especially if you craft seems to be a big problem atm so would be a nice reward for working to get to end game. Also could add lore books you've discovered to a bookshelf in your home for players who like to read the lore of ES.
