So you're blaming ZO for independently-developed addons not being updated yet?

I guess this patch really did fix everything if we're down to complaining about this.

Every major patch messes up your addons. This is true of every MMO I've played with addons. Modders will update the ones that need to be updated. The ones that don't need to be updated, you should be able to load as outdated.

They are hided account name from API again!
WTF Zenimax? Does it national security or what? Make API more informative, what is wrong in this?

On the good side only 4 out of the 25 or so i use are broken.

Go into the game, and turn on the addons 1 or 2 at a time until you determine which ones are actually broken.

    So far my list is
    Banker
    LootDrop
    Souschef
And 1 other i cant recall the name of.

It would be nice if a MMO would actually make a useful interface so you don't need to download addons. Sometimes I think they want you to download them so when something is wrong with the game they can just blame it on the addons.

If you are afraid of "leaks" or want more RP - do not install addons! It's simple.

When you log in, they have you sign a new agreement distancing themselves from add ons and all the game play/security issues they cause… good idea on their part.

The Add-on Menu option on the left hand sign of the character log-in screen flashes at you if your add-ons are borked… good way to let people now.

When you open that menu, it tells you which ones are out of date and lets you manipulate them there, along with a big ole button that says "ALLOW" out of date add-ons… wow, another good idea.

How did they not tell you?

This will happen every time they do a content patch/update and not normal maintenance. Get used to it.

I'm still plugging along with just the FTC "early access" model. Still works. Only one I use. Just got used to playing with how the game is handed to me.

It seems because of that API change all add-on settings were lost.
There is a thread in the add-on forums about retaining settings although for me that didn't work.

    Dunno

Borrower&Lender, SoftcapInfo (the two to rule them all, others are just more or less cosmetic) and FTC seem to be all right, haven't tested others yet (skyshards, lorebooks, etc), but if this patch tried to mess up bots again by shaking the map, then all those pointers are a bit off again, just like in 1.1.2

but BatmanStoreFilter is out completely (causes UI error and so ESO shuts it down when you login, showing you just a big error screen) and Advanced Filters stopped filtering some categories (e.g. enchanting category among materials won't show anything and is greyed out, even if there are runes in that inventory/bank)

I'm sure those people will fix their addons as soon as they are able.

Give the thanks to your add-on developers for not updating their add-ons. You use the add-ons at your own risk. They are not supported by, nor maintained by, ZOS.

"Addons can break with major patches."
Sorry to everyone I blinded with the obvious by saying that.
Nothing to be afraid of or worry about. If they end with exceptions they don't ruin anything. Exceptions are just the way of computers to tell us "You have to look at that, Programmer/Admin".

That they reset the data/changed the way saved variables are stored is kinda annoying. But it's not like they are responsible for releasing ***-Zombies on the world or causing the RL Planemeld.
Also it can be solved if you are forewarned:
    http://www.esoui.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1843
Now please do not use that for UTC. It's better to let then one be reset.

Because that reset actually did point me towards a bug in my UTC addon that could have seriously screwed up your Chat if you use my UTC addon (I disabeled the code for 1.3 and the automatic reset should prevent any issues; and it only applies if they reordered the ChatCategories - so a small chance at best).
So now I am working on intentionally and automatically resetting the Addon settings everything the API version changed, just to be on the save side. I really should have thought of that beforehand.
So I have to actually thank them for resetting the data and thus letting my addon dodge a (potential) bullet this time (so I can work on staying out of the line of fire in future changes).

I'm using more than 30 addons, I just don't want to check every of them! ><
Especially, if there was no reasons to change API so hardly again.

Most of addon authors unsubbed far ago, they will not update it - nobody will buy 1 month just for addon update.
If game have low number of addon authors - the game will die soon. This is obviously.

As for me: I'll better unsub than play at default UI.

    That's your problem.

The game is perfectly fine with the default UI. You don't need addons to play, and you certainly don't need 30 of them. More importantly, ZO is not responsible for your addons. They can change their game however they like. It is the responsibility of addon creators to change their addons when needed.

C'mon, you and I both know that there is a very large percentage of the playerbase that would completely disagree that "the game is perfectly fine with the default UI".

Even ZOS knows that the UI is severely lacking and only works for the strictly TES players.

Because TES players are used to atrocious UIs? -_- Minimalistic style is one thing, but the shotcomings of inventory interface and especially the guild store don't work for anyone.

I also have around 30. Mostly because the standard UI doesnt give the simplest informations. So you actually need em. If you had em once, you never want without em. Its the small Addons about Guild Stores, Inventory etc that makes the amount of installed addons that big.

Some of em are not that important. But most of em should be like integrated into the regular Vanilla UI.

The Vanilla UI also isnt enough for the more hardcore players. Also theres still no Target Dummy ingame to test DPS etc. But thats a different story.

Just because some of you have the opinion that Addons are useless and the standard ui is sufficient, doesnt mean it is for everyone. There are people around that like to play ESO as what it is. A freaking MMO! And thats why so many Addons are needed for these People.

    Anyways, just my 2 cents.

The fixes they made to the Guild Store seem to make some store based add-ons moot.

Maybe ZOS just looks to see what the most sought-after or desired add-ons are, looks at what people are complaining about in game and adds that type of stuff in once and awhile.

I wouldn't expect to see to much, but betting they keep adding some of the basics in over time.

btw: 30 add-ons is just asking for major conflicts somewhere not to mention computer performance issues. Like I said, personally only use 1. Would probably enjoy a couple of the crafting based ones though…
