Potential for Researching 'drop sets'

freddy_hgnrb18_ESO
Would it ever be considered in future content for master crafters to be able to research Set Pieces from the world drop sets (eg Kyne's Flight)

By having a piece of the set, and researching it to learn the set bonuses (over an acceptable period of time, considering the benefit that would result)?

I ask because some of the set pieces are fantastic, but would suit some playstyles better if they had different traits / looks.

I accept that not just everyone should be able to do so, but maybe those that have mastered a crafting style, and researched all traits over a specific armour type (eg Medium armour - all 8 traits on all 7 armour slots would be eligible to upgrade their skill by learning how to craft new sets - at a designated set crafting station (not fixed for a specific set, but in 1 specific (quest rewarded) location

Think it would be something crafters would dedicate time to work toward, especially to craft sets for their alt characters, as well as friends / guild members

(not a fully fleshed out idea, what do you guys think would be a balaced way of approaching this)?

Kinda hoped some of you may have had something to add, or thoughts as to whether it seems viable idea or not :\

There is no need to learn them, really. They can be crafted at the locales. I would rather they remain as is, to maintain some sense of uniqueness.
Words contained in posts, at which point I stop reading and will not respond...
Toon / Mana / WoW or any acronym following "In ___" /
Pets (when referring to summoned Daedra) / Any verbiage to express slang (ie, ending in uz,az,..) / Soul Stone
    ... to be continued.

    Now, get off my lawn.

Not every set can be crafted. The really useful ones can only be dropped, and that's the problem presented by the OP.
I believe that's to keep a certain balance between dropped gear and crafted gear, so they both offer different kinds of advantage.
I hate it and I would rather be able to craft everything.

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

If perhaps not being to craft it, then perhaps the ability to reforge the armour to be of a different level, or look and style. There are some great set bonus's out there, but I find by the time I've found all three pieces of the set, I'm way overlevelled for it.
Not just that, but I like my character to look a certain way. I like my armour to match.

This would be nice, though I do understand why zos decided to have dropped gear have different bonuses. However some of them are quite nice compared to the craftable ones ive seen. Given i am still below level 30 so im not sure what else is available. But i believe it is the Warlock set that drops and it automatically gifts you more magicka when running low, which is great. However those pieces dont usually have the other benefits i prefer :/
Im sure they will add more craftable sets down the road, but being able to research or craft something similar would be nice.

Maybe if it takes 30 days or so to research after you got all 8 traits for an equipment piece.

This was kind of the idea I was going for.

I am now V2 and am wearing 6/7 pieces of Kyne's Flight set (which is great for Bow using NB's as 3 pieces gives +6 weapon damage, and 5 pieces gives 30% chance to slow target for 3 seconds)

The V1 set all has great stats (i've upgraded them all to blue) including the bow (which has Frost damage built into it)

It took me from the start of Stonefalls to hitting V2 before I managed to acquire 5 pieces, and I wanted the 6th so I could keep bonuses while using different weapon if need be.

The drawback (if you can call it that even) is they have have the same Trait on them (% reduced stamina from sneaking) and they all (i believe) have Stamina as their armour bonus - I would love to be able to re-trait some of them, and tweak the Stam to Health/Magika bonuses

Being a Clothier of Medium Armour speciality (I have 5 traits on all pieces, and 6 on 3 (with another 4 being researched over the next 2 weeks) - If after I've managed to research all 8 traits on all 7 armour slots - there doesnt appear to be much else to do with the crafting side - so a future endeavour would be to learn new sets - that not everyone else would necessarily have access to at the same time (others might specialise on Spellbased armour bonuses, or some such)

It would definitely need to have a great amount of time involved in researching each piece (30 days may be justified considering the benefit of the final result)

Having the set bonus, in a preferred racial style (eg: Primal/Ancient Elf - with a Barbaric bow), with specified traits (Crit, armour % etc) to my (or another players) character would be highly sought after by most players (I would imagine)

It would also (hopefully) reduce the amount of spam messages in general chat channel of players LF pieces from other players who may (or may not) have been lucky enough to find one - but knowing a player could (potentially) craft any of the specific pieces would be a great benefit, and money maker for those interested in commercial gain.

They said the 'best' sets would be drops only for the raiders and dungeon runs etc, change this and too many of them would complain.

But the best sets would need crafting to upgrade them to yellow.

My issue is a L1 blacksmith can upgrade a V10 drop to yellow, no 'skills' required at all to upgrade the item. So the point of crafting skills are????

Then again, I leveled my trade skills from breaking down items alone to sell the parts.

I would love to learn the other sets so I can mix a set over different armor types (light, medium, heavy all part of one set) But from the dev comments on other posts like this, its never going to happen.

But if they allowed me to UPGRADE a dropped set (increase its level, change a V1 set into a V10 set) and at the same time change its look (apply a different motif) Then that would fix both worlds. (Raiders and Crafters)

Since dropped sets can be very good, I've actually not looked throu them all but seen some I'd like to be able to make, I think this would be good.

Some say dropped sets are better than crafted sets even. If that's true, there is no point in crafting.
