Has there ever been a Patch...

That does not break more than if fixes.

I mean it seems to me we get more bugs than ever after a new patch.

Yes most games devs are competent enough to do so. This ones, no.

Don't think so, ZOS is just the most recent in a long list to experience this.

Your comment I take it is suggesting all MMOs are like this .. I have news for you, they aren't, it's not uncommon for a patch to introduce a problem that wasn't there before but that's entirely not what the OP said.

Actually, this is common. Wow patch day was dreaded due to extended downtimes, stealth nerfs and broken bits. So while I'm not surprised by this, it's still pretty bad to happen.

It's amazing how they have PTS running and still give us this kind of crap.

Doubt anyone would complain about lock picks now.
People keep telling me they're gonna buy me an ale. They never do.

There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's culture. And the Elves.

Didnt want to start an extra thread about it: would someone mind telling me how many hours it took until you could start download the patch? Im planning my day and would have the possibilty at lunch to stop at my home and start the download so hopefully it will be finished when I finally stop working. Unfortunately the official posts about the NA patch misses the timestamps and the official messages about finishing the patches seem to come a little late.

get he feeling they are pressured to meet their commitment of a major content patch every 6 weeks. I'd rather they forgot about this and just put things right for existing content and took the time to test new patches. No doubt there will be a hot fix in a day or two as there was with craglorn.

Its amazing how many on these forums who have no clue what so ever how MMO patching works.

If someone have not played MMO, I understand their confusion.

The bigger the patch, the bigger the risk of having one of two fixes for the patch.
HOWEVER: The fixes does not take months and are with todays technology, sometimes able to do while the game is running.

You get a bunch of upgrades and things. And all you need to do, is feedback, give info as much as possible and the engineers WILL correct the problems.

The short time for fixes, compared to your playtime is really nothing.

From us "oldies" who gone through a few MMOs from start, we know, the first months will be buggy to say the least. And the first YEARS will have fixes after patches. However, it gets less and less fixes the longer the game runs.

When there is a big patch, plan for a movie, snacks whatever. EXPECT something to needed to get fixed. The question is rather how little will needed t get fixed.

The more patches on ANY MMO, with fixes afterwards, the more stable the MMO becomes. This is FACT on ALL MMO.
(Not Eve online, because of their technology AND staff)

Chill, accept it, and understand that you get a BETTER game.

I love the "first years" part. If a game is bugged as hell you won't even last till the end of the first year.

EDIT: I'm 48 and play MMOs since UO

    Really?

How the HELL did WoW, EQ, EQ2, EvE, SWTOR, AO and pretty much every MMO that runs, still exist today?

I'll save this post, and mail it to you at christmas when ESO is kicking butt.

And? SWTOR was PLANNED to be FTP, for some horrible reason.

EQ is 15 years old. Had to go free-to-play. Told old. WoW still have their sub.
The others are also 10 years old....

    I answered this statement.
If a game is bugged as hell you won't even last till the end of the first year.

That was simply not true, and gave some examples to back up my answer.

And you go....hmm....they went free to play? Alright....so?

I'm struggling to understand what the point of the PTS is when they release versions that weren't ever on there.
