The range for the FoV slider is far too small. I set it to max (130) and I barely notice a difference (my monitor is 1920x1080). Everything still feels claustrophobic. Does anyone else feel this way?

I just had the same reaction.
I stood by a wall and moved the slider far left then far right. There was just a small difference.Edited by Blackwidow on June 24, 2014 11:18PM1 -
Yup, its still WAY too narrow for anything bigger than a 24" monitor, almost pointless. Nice try guys, but not good enough, sorry.
And so where is the 3rd person FOV slider as well? Why isn't there one? You know, since we're pointlessly forced into third person on our horses (which we're on a LOT) and when swimming, the new 'not really wide enough' first person slider is just going to keep making me sick since the FOV will constantly be switching back and forth between bad and worse now.
Who on the dev team thought this was a good idea?
Zenimax, can we please just have a proper freaking FOV control, one for both views, and make the maximum really really really WIDE, so we can put this issue to bed once and for all? Make it command line, or in the ini file, don't care.
PLEASE?

And you dont need it in third person. You can already see 200°+ in third person.1 -
Innocente✭✭✭✭ES is traditionally played in 1st person, and the ES folks like to play it that way. MMO players are traditionally 3rd person. The problem is that in the case of ESO, NEITHER is particularly well implemented.1

ESO launcher no longer works with this latest patch, again, though that wasn't unexpected really.
The game's engine is capable of rendering up to around 105 deg real FOV, that much is proven, and that was equal to an internal setting of around 1.5 in the game's terms. The new slider is now limited to an internal value of 1.1, up from its virtually telescopic default of 0.85.
The slider says "130". That does not mean 130 degrees. That number is meaningless. If it were capable of 130 degrees it would be a nearly fisheye perspective, and it certainly isn't.
Its actually worse now, not better.
