This Computer is not authorized to login to this account

Seriously, now I'm getting a message saying "This computer is not authorized to login to this account" when it is the same computer that I have been playing on since BETA.
It's sending an access code to enter, the problem is that email address is one of the Google Account emails that got hosed and it's been down since June 5th. I don't have access to it at the moment, because Google screwed up.

Why am I getting this after this HUGE patch?

If you had read the notice on the log-in screen, you would have known this was intended. It is just a verification of the account. No big deal. Unless you cannot get the e-mail, of course.

But, Z thinks that is your problem to solve, not theirs. Oh, and you only have 10 minutes to enter the code. Good Luck.

I read the notice, I understand what it is.
The question is WHY? The computer has been authorized for MONTHS.
Plus, since I can't access the email account at the moment, I'm pretty much hosed.

Hell, I don't know what goes on in their heads.

But, I agree. They already have IP change verification in place. I don't know why they felt that a blanket verification was needed.

Having to reauthorize every computer I log in with and endure the stupid long ass load is unnecessary.

I got this either the first or second patch.

Same computer, same ISP, etc, etc through beta into retail. I asked support what they changed since everything on my end was same. Never got an answer

Hey there, everyone. Just to provide some additional clarification, we implemented this as part of ongoing security improvements we've made to the account system. For more information, be sure to check out this sticky thread we posted on the subject. We hope this helps!

It made me question their ability to maintain account info in a secure fashion. Which of course isn't just your email but your CC#.

How long does this blasted email take to come? I've been waiting for almost 20 minutes.

I too had this issue even when I never changed computers or IP. It's Z's end for sure. I can see them trying to implement stronger security, but when IPs can be spoofed seems like wasted effort.

It took me 45 seconds to open the email on my phone and put in the code. 15 seconds more maybe if I had to alt-tab and open it on my pc, a minor inconvenience at the most for a security measure.

Also a long loading screen after an 8gig+ patch...big deal. I swear some of the complaints I see on these forums, you sound like a person who complains about having to press a button for "English" on an ATM.
On second thought, let's not go to the forums. 'Tis a silly place.

Seems pretty unnecessary to me. If it is for extra security than I guess most other game companies are just careless.

Where is my email?? All I get asked for when I log in is an access code. I get mailed an access code and guess what, it doesnt work. I have done this several times now. No temp password has been emailed to me.

Every one is receiving this after this patch. I got it the first time I logged in at my aunt's house when I was house & dog sitting. The second time was when I was back home after leaving my aunt's house. The third time was here at my boyfriend's apartment on his computer. Fourth time was on the computer I'm currently playing on that he built me a day after being here (Moved a bunch of states couldn't bring original on the plane). The fifth & as of right now final time was after today's patch.

For me I was actually changing IP addresses from 3 different locations. If it happens again when nothing has changed at that time I'll question the Dev's on why it keeps happening. Until then I don't see an issue since it's to keep your account safe (Unless of course you're locked out of your email account. At which point I would've just made a new email & updated my account to that email to be able to log in).

This sort of thing is going to make me cancel my sub. I appreciate security, but every major update that happens I have to re-validate my computer, even though it's in the same location since beta. The problem is I have a yahoo acct linked and the email with the code almost always either takes around 10-15 min to show or doesn't show at all and so I am stuck wasting an hour just to try and log into the game.

How dare they question your computer! You should report this to the concierge!

Seriously though - it's just additional security.

    Only 10 minutes...

Here's my problem with the so-called additional security. Why the Heck do I need to re-validate my computer to log onto the game, when I can log directly to my account here on the ESO webpage, on this very same computer and cause all kinds of havoc if it wasn't my account....

It is a complete waste of my time to wait for an email that has now not shown up for 35 freaking minutes since my first post, not counting the half hour before that.

*shrug* I have a second (old) computer I use for my e-mail. Don't really boot it up all that often. So the confirmation e-mail was a bit of a hassle. I appreciate the security measure the first time, but once a computer is validated, it should *stay* validated.

Personally, I'm more inclined to believe this is an anti-bot/farmer measure on their end. If they didn't keep track of which bot/farmer went with which e-mail address past the first verification, they've probably lost that account.

    'Course, that'll only work once.

    Achievements Suck

Because as far as ESO knows, your account could have been hijacked which was apparently happening. That's why the random checks. I for one think it's a great idea.

I'm getting this thing EVERY time I log in after the patch. Oh well, not game breaking - email still comes - tho certainly VERY annoying.
Why the heck do I need to validate the very same computer with very same IP addres EVERY time I want to play the game I paid for?
