Based on lore? I thought the alliances were something made-up for ESO.
I chose Daggerfall Covenant because I like Bretons. I know you can make any race for any alliance, but it just didn't sit well to have my Breton in either of the others.
Daggerfall based on lore. Faction choice is pretty meaningless right now, as you will be spending the majority (2/3+) of your time fighting your own faction instead of helping them thanks to the awesomeness of veteran content.
Daggerfall: Capitalist-trader-king
Ebonheart: A coalition of slavers, barbarians and resentfull ex-slaves
Dominion: While having internal struggle with extreme racists the Queen is revealed to (spoiler!) be genuinely honest in her dream about a dominion of peace, as her true intentions were revealed through the Orrery.
So sorry, while the veiled heritance is a bunch of ***tards, the Dominion is the only faction trying to bring all races under the same banner, not just claim Cyrodiil.

Yeah that incessant Altmer superiority and condescension screams Kumbayah. Just like having "dominion" in the faction name...

Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.
He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.
