Why no patch push yet?

It's one thing if the servers aren't ready yet, but no patch push yet? What are they waiting for? I would assume the patch would be ready for patch day and it's just a matter of applying it to the servers.

Presumably the patch deployment is what's causing the issue.

You would assume it would be that simple, but if you've done any type of programming you know what works on it's own doesn't always work when you apply it to the rest. They are probably having to deal with issues they didn't expect to happen. Sometimes fixes certain things breaks others. Just give it time :)

first they make sure the servers are up and running with the new patch and they wont have to rollback. If they put the client patch up first they'd have to rollback all thier clients and that would be abd. Just be patient.

One thing I've appreciated in some other games I've played is that, in advance of a new content release, they've released the finalized new art and audio assets over the week or so prior to the actual content launch; then on patch day it's just a matter of patching the executable and any pre-existing assets that have been changed for the release. That might not work with this game's file architecture, perhaps, but that sort of thing has seemed to work well. It eases the load on the patch servers when the content launches, and it speeds up the whole process of getting people back into game. And really, if things go wrong on patch day, it's probably not a matter of the art and audio.

But yeah, a bit eager to have the patch drop here, as well, if only so that I might hear reports of how big a patch we're talking. At this point I won't be in game until tomorrow at least.

I don't get why all there patches are so large and their delivery is so slow. Eso downloads slower than anything else I ever download and I have a fiber connection.

I believe this patch will fix all the issues, that's why it's so large

    That remains to be seen.

It's nice to see mB/s now with my new cable inet. 55/10. Too bad I'm paying almost a hundred a month for speeds you can get in Europe for half that price, and synchronous to boot.

    Looked like about 4.3 gigs...then 28500 MB

Just saw the message about server being up, and I'm still downloading....:( at stupid slow speeds too. Everyone else stop patching until I'm finished....

    Size matters?

Judging by the percent complete this looks like a multi part part patch, which means 4 GB is just the first part.
