While patches like today's are very welcome- I expect no MAJOR fixes or changes or updates for at least 5 months.
Why? The console release, which will generate publicity and need to be received well, will be slated right before Christmas (ie, about 6 months from originally planned release as they said). Anything they do now will be old news then.
After the less than stellar initial release, to generate a "Look at us now" PR campaign that prompts new reviews of the game--I predict the console release will come right after (or even with) a biiiiiiiig update that fixes a lot of things and add major features that will be kept somewhat under wraps until close to their release to add to that PR push. I expect it to have surprises--maybe even housing, or a huge new zone.
I wouldn't be surprised if they hold back some big things and needed fixes to maximize the public relations potential to push the console version, garner new reviews, and propel the Christmas buying season as well. Because that will be the make or break moment for this game--November/December 2014.
