Well, you know, they specifically thought 'Hey, why not release this on Monday?' 'Ah, well, if we release it on Tuesday, which our psychics tell us KingslayerNanook will have to himself, we can make even more customers angry!'

Nah, probably because it's patch day.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

I recall seeing the yellow writing across my screen from the System Admin, telling everyone they have to have an emergency shutdown before you could turn your computer on.

Not the sharpest tool in the shed are we King? You should have known by now (and it's pretty brain dead info too) to know that Tuesdays and Fridays (http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/75114/regular-maintenance-days-times#latest) European Megaserver, of course. And the American Server had to be pushed today, reading is knowledge and knowledge is power.

If you ever looked in the Official News & Patch Notes, which everyone does and sometimes every 5-10 mins to see if any thing is updated, you would have seen the maintenance days/times.

Nah, probably because it's patch day.

Yesterday was patch day. But they did give the 1 day notice as promised. Just not for yesterday not having the usual downtime.

Hi, folks. We announced that we wanted to push version 1.2.3 this week to bring you all our next major content update. The build wasn't quite ready to go yesterday, so we ended up cancelling our regular maintenance in favor of preforming one today.

Then why not do it on Thursday when you have a scheduled maintenance? If it wasn't ready yesterday then it could use a couple extra days of testing.

Apparently you have to read every single thread, track every dev post or be on reddit to have any idea what is going on in this game. Them actually making a post to explain skipped maint days or added ones .. only for reddit or a random response to a thread you may or may not have seen. It is far to much work to keep your customers informed on your own site.

It's simple, really. On the North American megaserver, perform updates and maintenance at off-peak hours (1-5 am). Problem solved.

Which is exaclty why I said if they didn't know if it was going to be rady 24 hours before time to deploy a major content patch it should wait a few days and actually be tested.

Thats why you should never try to do server maintenance with a hammer.

Had a guy once that used to routinely poke connectors and cards with a screwdriver 'Just to make sure they were seated tightly....'.

One time (well, one time that mattered...) he slipped.
The boss got a lesson that day regarding the speed at which a new unit could be cobbled together, and why a backup plan was a good thing.

Man, I'm glad I left that industry :)

Yup, sounds like a great way to get their staff to look for new jobs.

This happens once a month (at the most). I think people should be able to deal with no ESO for 8 hours.

Why would they have to look for new jobs? REAL IT professionals are on call 24/7.

It would have been nice to actually see a post as a heads up not a reply to a thread that someone found on reddit that people may or may not have seen.
