Its actually RMT-free economy
very easy, cheap and stable economy
its more likely all-winner economy rather than competitive for few-no life
at least I like it

I usually sell all my stuff to vendors, don't really see the use for gold as of yet.... at my level anyways.

I've never put a single thing up for sale in any of my guilds stores lol.

Hmmm..... not very lucrative is it? :(

I mostly sell motifs and glyphs on the store. The glyphs help make a bit of money and I look for cheap high level glyphs myself to decon and help my Enchanting.

    Yes.
Outside of repairs for equipment, there's really no actual need for money in the game.

I'm in a strange place with this game. I don't dislike the content or questing by any means but at the same time it's not been all that compelling to keep me going.

On the other hand, the pursuit of marketing and gaining gold has been incredibly enjoyable for me (almost strangely so). In fact it was my primary reason for renewing the sub. My only reservation is that with 3 toons ranging from 25 to 35 I've already crossed the 450k mark and there does not seem to be much left to spend it on.

I hope they have some plans beyond just bog standard gold sinks though, I'd like to experience at least some kind of enjoyment from my efforts in trading but as it stands, any gold gained from here on out may only be of superficial value.

You know what would be really cool, if they added like maybe a cart or guildstore stall where other non-member of certain guilds can view and purchase wares from said guild.
I take pride in being an incredibly smart dumb ass, or an incredibly dumb smart ass, either way I'm awesome.

The Product Market is rough in ESO ... but the Labor Market is AMAZING!

I hired a band of 4 players (for an hour) to remain hidden in and then come out and play music/dance over the people I ganked in Cyrodiil.

It's rare to find so much willing labor in an MMO.

Assuming you are not trolling the OP...this is already in the works. No ETA though.

This. Or where people not in guilds have access to the store. There are several traits my small guild hasn't been able to find, and I don't feel like spamming chat to get them.

Only an auction house will fix anything.

First, the tedium of zoning around trying to find buyers for all the crap you want to sell.

Then having to deal with negotiating with grimy capitalists who only want to pay 1/10 normal price and charge 3x normal price.

Even if you are in a trade guild, you only have up to 499 players (small market) that you can attempt to sell product to.

The commerce system is garbage. I want a point-and-click, easy to use auction house. I want to be able to buy individual items out of a stack of items, I want to be allowed to post Buy and Sell offers and just walk away and come back and collect my payoff. Better yet, just mail it to me.

    Within; Without.

I was expecting something like "Said noone ever", not this.

Guild Stores are terrible, and it's downright impossible to find what you need, even if you're in four trade guilds. And addons adding more categories is a MUST.

I've liked the guild store system as well. The use of multiple healthy markets (regularly managed trading guilds) has net me over 100k so far in trading small/cheap goods over about a 2 weeks time buying overstocked items in one and selling for a fair profit in another where the item had less competition. A search function would only make it easier, so a revamp of the interface is very much wanted from me - though I'd like to keep the guild store system intact.

If you need it, it isn't in the guild store unless its marked up 10x normal price.

If you are selling, every guild store has 1000 for sale and nobody has or will buy any copy of it.

It's taken me a while to get to grips with the trading system in this game. It's vital to have active and well-maintained trade guilds, but when you do, it works really well. Addons are a must as well and even so the search system is horrifically clunky and sometimes it's just easier to vendor items.

I'm still a bit undecided about it all. An action house would make things a lot easier, but I can see the guild store system working if it becomes more thought out and robust. (Trade alliances. Guild bonuses towards trading and crafting. Localised taxes/benefits for each city and alliance. A black market subset when the Thieves Guild comes in.)

Another thought is that trade guilds and non-trade guilds need to be separated. They are different entities and have very different requirements from the player base. Going back to Guild bonuses, there should be some that are targetted towards different areas of the game: PvP/PvE/Dungeon & Raid/VP/Social so that guilds can start to have an identity and perhaps a progression of their own.

The other issue is that /zone chat is basically a trade channel now. I'm not lamenting the loss of general troll chat, but it can make it difficult to organise a World Boss/Dolmen formation, which is pretty vital for VR.

I understand what the OP is saying. They are saying anyone can make gold without having to remove themselves from having a social life --- and that gold still retains it's value.

This is very true... also having no way to convert cash to gold is good. Sure while motifs and prices of some things may bounce up and down, overall anyone can make enough gold to buy what they want within reasonable time constraints. And your choices of earning gold are plentiful compared to most MMOs. You can go grind killing monsters, looting, barter, craft, sell traits, etc..

The UI, at this stage, is very disappointing. Sure, it can be worked around - but from the search throttles to the lack of search utility - just all the way around it is very rough indeed.

Not sure why this hasn't been front burnered.
