Sorc Light Armor Crafting

What is the best "set" armor to craft for a sorc? Right now I have 2 gold and 3 purple willow path LA set vr 7....is there a better combo (I also have lamae set of 5 in my bag)? I can craft anything in LA

also curious what traits people go for - I have been using a combo of mundus stone (on the gold for 7.5% boost per piece) and enchantment boosts (for 17% on each piece) stacking magicka glyphs..

AAANNND the last question :) - jewelry - currenty I am using reduced spell cost and adding in glyphs of reduced spell cost to stack - am I better off with warlock or magicka furnace sets? what is better reducing the cost of spells or boosting magicka?

Personally as any caster, the Warlock set is invaluable.

Just my opinion though. Currently, I run 3 Piece Warlock (helm, ring, neck), 3 Piece magicka Furnace (chest, shoulders, ring), and 4 Piece Convenant Set (pvp set).

Magicka management is not soo much a problem for me on a sorc because critical charge nets me HP on crits and Spell Symmetry nets me Magicka off that..or on my second bar for solo boss fights ball of lightning and dark exchange keep me topped off..but then it never hurts to have too much magicka!! :) I was more curious about spell cost redux vs magicka increases..I will try and test it both ways...with the spell cost redux and magicka furnace sets

Yes he was, but he also specifically mentioned the Warlock and Magicka Furnace Sets...

Start with Willow's Path three piece. The crit bonus is great for all specs.

For the other five, you have several good choices, depending on what you wish to optimize:

    - Seducer will give you 3% savings on spells, and also 15 magicka recovery. Excellent for general use
    - Magnus is a 5% chance to negate the cost of a spell, and also bonus magicka. Also excellent for general use
    - Twilight's Embrace is 10% incoming healing, and another 5% crit. More boom for your buck
    - Spectre's Eye is bonus magicka and a procced dodge bonus. This is great for PvP (note, this is a eight-trait set, so very few people can make it yet)

There are other worthy sets, but those are probably best.

As for Warlock, I am not a fan. As a VR12 sorc in PvE or PvP, magicka management is not so difficult as to require using all your accessory slots for that set. I prefer +spell harm in PvP and Magicka Cost Reduction in PvE.

    Some other notes:

    - You have seven armor slots, and you can grab three bonuses with them. For example, three piece Willow, three piece Twilight and Five Piece Twilight. That takes eight items total
    - That means you're using crafted staves, too. Make them all from the same set so weapon swap doesn't mess you up
    - For the three big pieces of armor (Head, Chest, Legs), get the Infused trait. For the smaller pieces, Infused is less benefit. People tend to pick Divines for PvE or Impenetrable for PvP, but almost anything can work there, depending on your desire
    - For sorcs, staves should almost always be Precise, whether resto or destro

It's not usually worthwhile to make purples, much less yellows, prior to V12. You can go from V1 to V12 in crafted greens if you update them every two or three levels.

But can't you just re-enchant the warlock set with spell damage, or magicka cost reduction? :) The set still operates...

    So you get:

    Selected Enchantment.
    "Arcane: + Max Magicka"
    The Set bonus.

I don't think the Warlock set can be re-enchanted.

    Sets cannot be reenchanted.

As for me - another bathrobe sorc, yes - I use 5 Seducer and currently 3 Willow. Crit, spell reduction, mag regen. Oh, and 3 Warlock for jewellery. That means I can no longer use my awesome gold glyphs on jewellery but the Warlock set bonus is too awesome to pass by. ^^

bathrobe temp :) 5 pieces of Twilight's Embrace, 3 pieces Willow Path (two armor two sticks reso/destro), and the three Warlock sets ring and necklace. Infused on Head, Legs and Chest with Magicka glyps and the rest divine for munuds boost to The Thief. With Inner Light I am at 51.9 % crits. So far I have been able to handle VR6 mobs while still at VR 5 as well as quest bosses. I learned this from a Sorc actually and it has helped me so much in leveling. Being a dark elf the fire dmg is nice and I use solar barrage and reflective light with elemental ring to burn through mobs. I am leveling up balance from mages guild - which will pretty much end any magicka issues I might have.

Which makes me more jealous of sorcs lol - with critical surge and dark conversion you guys must never have hp or magicka issues :open_mouth:
