I am confused about DK's

First I will admit I dont play one, my Templar 'offtank' on the other hand is seriously disappointing. After reading this PTS notes I am confused;

Dragonknight
Ardent Flame
Extended Chains (Fiery Grip morph): This ability’s cost has been decreased. (Buff?)

Fiery Grip: This ability will no longer taunt monsters that already have an active taunt on them. (Fix)

Flame Lash (Lava Whip morph): Increased the damage and healing for this ability’s activated follow-up attack. (Buff?)

Molten Whip (Lava Whip morph): This ability’s slotted passive only applies to Ardent Flame skill line abilities instead of all fire damage. (Fix)

Draconic Power
Dragon Leap: This ability’s minimum range requirement has been removed. (Buff?)

Burning Talons (Dark Talons morph): Decreased this ability’s damage-over-time duration. (Nerf - but believe me was irrelevant in PvP if you were on your toes with interrupt)

Earthen Heart
Igneous Shield (Obsidian Shield morph): This ability now increases the healing you deal to allies for 5 seconds instead of increasing your shield value. (Buff? Maybe Not if Shield Value was OP)

Petrify: This ability now damages enemies when the effect ends. (Buff?)

So as you see, for a class stated as OP I can see little in terms of bringing them in line. One Nerf that was minor? Please, 'reduce' my sorry Templar tank this much, it cant even keep up with my NB's power!

    A previosu itteration of the DK (1.5) was sometimes able to solo Trials. The core abilities that allowed this have been nerfed/fixed to not allow that anymore. The core issues of them being "able to tank 10 people in PvP" have been fixed too.

    Without those the class can overall be brougth closer to the intended powerlevel. They are nerfing as many abilities as they buffed. And on the PTS they actually got player review. So we can asume those changes are improoving the balance longterm. It might not be the end of the journey, but a step into the right direction.

    If a class is already too strong, fixing bugs that make it weaker is not a good idea.
    If a class is already too weak, fixing bugs that helped it be competitive is not a good idea.
    Once the core issues of the imbalance have been fixed, secondary concerns can be looked at.

    They are buffs to under used skills so most likely trying to bring them in line with their other abilities

    The only big fix I want for DKs is to fix talon's "no hit, no charge" bug.

    Thanks for the comments, I admit I am a rare hit on the boards - I play alot instead lol cuz the game is good.

    This is the one thing I have wondered really about balance. Honestly, and please listen well devs - the chain pull is NOT strategically sound for PvP. It is an 'I win' button, period. I do not see how any adjustment, certainly not giving more out to other classes would ever make balance. An I win button for all is like Mutually Assured Destruction. So anyone understands, its I win because you can be out 80 meters (probably more) on top of you keep and pulled to the seige zerg of 200+ and insta killed 1 by 1. No counter period.

    Answer is shut this off or make it pull the DK into the mob/player like every other classes 'rush'. This is the only ability that I have felt is ridiculous.

    Btw, Steve, please show respect and dont rush to be a Troll. Look at my creds, I am good. I didnt say I cant play my Templar well since I have skill, I said compared to my NB, Sorc, and from reports the DK, its output is not where it needs to be (but it may be my Bow/2h build).

    Use the first fighter's guild skill morph to allow you to do the same thing. Why is it you what everything another class has but don't want to be that class? I wonder why I can't just cast a spell and get back magicka, oh wait there is a spell for that that allows me to do it but I have to sacrifice some health for it and points outside of the class abilities. See there are more ways to skin that cat then suggesting your class needs this or that from another class. If you're jealous of a Dragon Knight then play one otherwise USE the skills of your class. Sorc's are quite powerful in their own right.

    Honestly why would a Sorc want to chain someone to them? I haven't played a Sorc but I have died to quite a few of them in PvP. They seem better ranged anyways. The only time I chain people to me is when I have a group there to make sure they pound them into the ground. Chains don't work reliability in PvP anways.

    OMG really? Sorry if I am sounding a bit harsh as I am so sick of how everyone HATES on DK's. Yes the class has some OP issues but the answer is NOT to nerf them. I played my class through VR12 using these abilities and now you want me to re-learn and re-adjust because you GOT TO CLOSE TO THE KEEP WALL and got chained to the wall? Learn to expect things and then how to counter them! How about seeking an adjustment to your own class. Chains as I said are not reliable in PvP and I have to spend time targeting you to use them. If you get to close to the wall then YES you will be chained, expect it! Some people would love to be chained up to the wall so they can mass slaughter people!

    A bit biased, arent you? To put it simple, you dont even know what the previous state of skills were, as you yourself stated you dont play a DK. Some skills were nerfed and you call them fixed. Seems legit to drive the thread where you want.

    Molten Whip was supposed to affect all fire damage as for the tooltip (it never said anything about Ardent skilltree only), so its not a fix, sorry. Lava Lash almost no DK uses it because the heal is far from great and the other morph worked better (and still, very few top builds using Molten Whip just for the spell damage).

    Dragon Leap being one of the worst ultimates in the game and the only not claimed op dk ultimate got a decreased min range. Doom is coming.

    Burning Talons. The most complained skill by other classes gets a nerf, but it does not affect you? Wth are you talking about interrupt? Are you kidding? Or are you just completely ignorant about the talons issue? Its a softcc, cant be blocked. Its instant cast, cant be interrupted. You can only roll out of talons... Are you interrupting talons? Id love to see that. So much skillzzz

    Igneous Shield. Another crap skill nobody used. The extra shield granted by the morph was negligible (as the one provided by the skill itself, reason nobody used it). Now they add a group healing buff for a class that is not suited to heal in groups, gg ZOS.

    Petrify. So now it makes some damage after 14 seconds. Great. Btw, you cant damage the person while petrified, but they still regen resources. Not an usual pickup in AvAvA.


    So, they nerf the lava lash spell damage synergy with other fire skills (like cinderstorm) but its a fix even when the tooltip said otherwise. They sliiiiightly buff some other useless skills while nerfing others like:

    Burning Talons. Most complained skill. Nerfed.
    Banner. Most complained Ultimate in pvp. Nerfed.
    Magma Armor. Most complained Ultimate in solo pve. Nerfed.
    Inferno. Ninja Nerfed to stop your magicka regen completely without announcement. Yet the tooltip says nothing about it, they implemented this a few minor patches ago. But you dont play a DK, so why would you know..

    and in the end, you are trying to tell me they are buffing DKs? :trollface:

    The Dragon Leap not having anymore range is most likely an attempt to fix it. Usually about 5% of the time you'd use it and get stuck in the crouching animation with your wings bunched up... and not able to do anything but... well die. Maybe that bug had to do with people all of a sudden being out of range and the animation not having a target to leap onto..

    Just my opinion though idk.

    We all have friends who play one class or another. I don't want anymore nerfs.

    If you are upset about balance, ask for a buff to your class, but please please please ... no more nerfs.

    Disclaimer: I am not a DK.

    PS The only nerf (is actually a fix) I want at the moment is to remove the "no hit, no cost" bug from talons. But I feel that is a fairly reasonable fix, and even DKs can agree with me there.
