Pick up Armor and Weapons

Weapons and armor found in the world can now be picked up and equipped.
These items are low quality, but can be used if needed.
These items sell for 0 gold.
These items can be upgraded through crafting.
These items can be deconstructed, but yield very low inspiration and rarely yield usable resources.

Why was this even added? I'm assuming it refers to things like swords laying on the ground and such.

This seems like a waste of development time, to me. Who's going to pick up a crap-quality weapon when they've got their own already? Why upgrade a weapon when you can craft something better? They dont sell for gold, they dont yield much in the way of inspiration or resources.

This addition seems completely useless to me.

This refers to weapons/armor looted from crates, etc, too, looks like. Everything I've looted so far since patch has been 0 gold.

Its added to make looting valuable stuff from containers more time consuming.

Even if you avoid weapon racks and items laying on the ground you still end up with a number of these useless weapons and armor filling up your bags if you routinely search crates, baskets, cabinets, etc. We already have a bag size issue, why add more reasons to slow people down? I get these in the Veteran zones too, VR8 Weapons and Armor that deconstruct into nothing, more waste of space.

Except that in every Elder Scrolls game you could collect this stuff and sell it if you want to; even coal was worth 1g or something. Everything is worth zero gold to deter botters and autolooters, which is not very 'Elder Scrollsy' if you ask me. Just my opinion of course.

I had to get an addon to destroy all that stuff B)

Maybe from feedback. I know I've been playing and see an nice sword sitting there in a dungeon or a house and wish I could pick it up and use it as it looks like a good sword. So they gave us the option to do this, but made them garbage so I don't even bother. I think it's one of the times they should have just left things alone. I guess you can improve them, but haven't tried that yet. I suppose if they can be improved enough to be useful, maybe it's fine, but it would have to be something unique you can't already craft to make it worthwhile.
