anyone wish they just made a better single player elderscrolls than eso?

I sometimes wish that either Bethesda took full control and made this or takes it over and fixes it. zenimax employees are sitting somewhere behind a desk asking whats wrong with our game? I am gonna be mad though when in a year Bethesda shows their new elderscroll game off.

Of course I would love a new sp TES game but I knew this was going to be an MMO so I knew what to expect.

I play wishing it was not an mmo, but an online rpg...

Too many sacrafices for the sub... paying for less...

Yes I am wandering why I am paying a sub for this when other games offer better gaming experiences and do not require a sub.

To guy above, I have not really played mmo's before or subbed for any so had no idea what to expect as I am sure many many TES fans are in the same boat.

Bethesda is working on their next single-player Elder Scrolls game already (takes forever to get one done).

Considering how buggy every version of Elder Scrolls has been, I think ZOS has done an outstanding job. I love ESO games, but ZOS released with far less bugs than Skyrim or Oblivion.

They are a one-and-done crowd. Just remember Horse Armor DLC. What they do is great, don't get me wrong, and nobody else has come close. But it's nice to have both side by side, in my opinion.

This way, I can jump over, play the new ES game for a few weeks/months till I max it, and then come back and continue in a world that will still be growing and expanding and improving till the next one comes out.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

There's usually at least 5 years between the singleplayer games, but since they haven't annouced their new project (pretty please Fallout 4) it may be a bit longer this time out.

You could always think of it as an interesting diversion.

im just saying before you make a new game of the same thing help this studio out more. fully commit to your franchise or else your just following the greats that fall. if both were hardcore working on this and pooling their resources numbers for this game would skyrocket instead you have this game slowly falling apart at the seams destroying your franchise and then you release your game and it doesn't live up to the hype and tes is over and your studio is out of business

    Game is slowly falling apart?

    Destroying the franchise?

Didn't live up to the hype? Um, no game does. Hype is bad, m'kay. Gets you REAL disappointed when things are released. Peter Molyneux, anyone?

But to reiterate an different post but a similar point: ESO has probably paid off it's development costs, and still has a console release and new advertising cycle to look forward to at anniversary. Those players will have a very different experience than what early adopters ran into. Already, new characters have an amazing experience with the game, compared to just two months ago.

Pretty much this as well. Even though I'm a bigger TES fan than MMO I want ESO to be the best MMO it can be. Not single player oriented. I want to be able to experience every last thing in the game with a friend or group of friends.

Well, these are two different teams(studios). Bethesda softworks is owned by Zenimax.

So you are actually getting both. So that's only a good thing in my book. ESO didn't delay the implementation of the next ES single player game.

As a modder, I'm of the mind that the single player games should remain strictly single player. Adding any kind of multi-player, even just co-op would ruin it for modding.

    This!

I'm also curious, has a TES 6 been confirmed? Because, unless I'm missing a press release about TES 6, I'm more inclined to believe the next game being released by Bethesda will be in the fallout universe.

Do you actually mean to use the word "then" in the title or do you mean "than"? I ask because the first means that you still want an ESO, but you wish they had waited until after the next single player ES game to make it, while the second means that you want a single player ES game instead of ESO. I'm assuming you probably meant the latter, but the former would certainly make sense too.

Neither has been announced, but there have been hints that it will be Fallout. Skyrim was a HUGE hit for Bethesda though, they would be insane not to follow that up with another TES game.

No, not confirmed as in "we're working on TES VI right now", but at least hinted at. Besides, there's no reason to stop developing single player TES after Skyrim's astounding success.
However, the next game from BGS will most likely be Fallout 4. We shouldn't expect TES VI until 2017-18.

I would save my wishes for more productive things than video games but yes, I would have greatly preferred an ES solo title that ended with Molag and had the option to do the other 2 campaigns.

Will beg to differ. I'd pay a lot more for a release that allowed cooperative play between two players.

Heck, that's the only reason we bought two copies and two subscriptions of ESO. It was a terrible disappointment for us to see the main quest locked behind solo-only play.

Did you expect housing, underwater swimming, dueling, a law system, thieves guild, assassin's guild, a completely open world to explore, arenas, or any other the other things that ESO and MMOs should have?

Because I sure was expecting it.

I don't know my friend and I were discussing this last night on TS3. I love a lot of things about ESO, but part of me definitely longs for a more solitary Elder Scrolls with as much scope as this one. I would almost rather have one that I could play co-op with friends. As I said I love a lot of things in this game, but I am worried I will be ready to move on long before things I was hoping to see are implemented. Like say the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood. I resigned to just enjoy the game for as long as I can. But I probably won't make it through the last faction zone. I hope the Templar changes tomorrow are enough to help me finish the rift and at least get to see the DC zone.

Oh Hell yeah. Nobody makes single player rpgs like Bethesda. This just doesn't have that open world feel. When Obsidian made Fallout New Vegas, they couldn't help themselves, they forced you to follow a set route through the game by the geography having a linear route through it.

    OF COURSE.

Betehsda is AWESOME and with TESO, it's CLEAR that the only ones capable to release a game about TES universe is BETESHDA.

I can't wait to TES VI. My thousands of hours in Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim are not enough. I need more TES. REAL TES. I feel TESO is damaging TES franchise, sadly.

I suppose TES VI will be out in 2016/2017. They are now with Fallout 4 that it seems it will be out later 2015.

I'm OK with the online & I'm OK with the sub. What I'm not OK with is all the bugs my sub is paying for. Sometimes I enjoy group play so I like being able to do it even though I solo mostly.

It has been funny to read those kinds of comments before each succeeding single player TES game gets even more popular than the one before it.

Eso is an extention of TES. Like a fork. To OP, Bethesday/Zenimax said that eso doesn't affect the development of the TES series. The number of copies of Skyrim sold today, more than 2.5 years after Skyrim's release, is more than eso is selling. The Steam summer sale (and the Amazon.com sale price match) is helping to move Skyrim sales along no doubt.

And dont fotget that 3 years later, still being in top 5-10 of the steam most played games. A lot of mods continue being released everyday...Skyrim is the most successful Beth game ever BY FAR.
