Something has to be done to improve training at VR levels.

Let's say you were light armor or medium armor and wanted to train heavy? Well it's easier to do this from 1-50. You're actually penalized when you get VR1 and you are able to train things less faster. Isn't that kinda nonsensical? Sure I don't mind the slower xp, but training is training. If you're a veteran you're likely to learn skills faster.

These players that have just bought the game and leveled through the 1-50 content on a weak build probably have to go through hell just to change to a viable build once they finally talk to people or read enough to know what they should be doing.

Imagine how long it'd take to learn a new weapon type, armor type, skill line from 1 or 5. You'd be grinding for a week in Cold Harbour's public dungeon and even then you'd probably wouldn't max it. Hell, you're better off just using a spec that will get you through quests and just changing to whatever you wanna train when you turn stuff in. But even that takes a while. I think Bow from 48 to 50 took like 30 quest completions a piece if not more.

And besides, it's not like you'd be a master of all trades or as if knowing all these skills would make you super powerful. You're still either a Dragonknight, Sorceror, Nightblade, or Templar. So if you're like most and try the other classes out you gotta start all over and learn all those too.

Could you imagine trying to learn all the skills on all 4 classes on one account? That would take a casual at least a year. Yet leveling is and can be super fast if you know what you're doing. /shrug... maybe if it were more fun to grind but it isn't. I'd rather grind skills like 1999 EQ where you'd get skill ups very slow. At least you could just go out and train on easier enemies. It always took a while, but you could know a skill or two out in a day. Easy. Hell, I macro'd begging in a SoF zone's tower so it'd beg from this human npc and got 400 nearly overnight. And begging took FOREVER.

I disagree. Learning actually happens faster earlier on. That's more realistic. We learn things quicker as children than we do as adults. And -every- skill has limits, a ceiling, there's only so much knowledge that you can acquire before he simply 'know' it all. So the farther along you go, the -slower- it is to learn something new, or increase skill.

Of course, I agree with you on the idea of slower skill progression over time anyway. Society is an 'instant gratification' world now. People want to hit VR12 NOW. People were maxxing level within a few weeks of launch. That's just the way the world is now.

Dunno about you , but i can say that on my templar: I got all armor trees to 50 and I almost all weapon trees to 50 (only need dual wield now and im already training it :P) On my way to vet10 ( which means i got tons of exp left to master this last weapon ) , where my char stands now , was not really hard to me.

Ofc , i only use one char , dont see the point of creating a second one just to replay the same exact content a second time , still , assuming they also go 1-vr10 like my templar , dont see how their result would be much different than mine if they are doing quests.

PS: I dont get you guys saying the exp is the same or slower than at low lvls , i can comfirm this any time , it is a LOT faster to train a weapon at high lvl with the quests exp.

You get the same xp from the same mob types even in VR content. Xp is different from vp but you can't see the amount of xp gained without the use of addons that display it.

It is not actually slower to level skills in VR content. And turning in quests grant plenty of xp. About 3.8k for the common quest and around 10k xp for the quests that complete a landmark point (turns the icon from black to white).

Opening chests trains on all levels. While adventuring I keep my second bar full of untrained skills. When I encounter a chest I switch before opening it and get those skills trained instead of my normal attack skills that are already maxed.

Please stop using realism as an argument for bad gameplay mechanics.

I really hate it when people try to counter with "it's unrealistic!" especially when concerning a fantasy mmo.

I didn't notice a slow down at all? Is it suppose to slow down? Maybe I should report myself.

You probably use performance enhancing drugs. Like coffee.

Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

I don't like coffee. But I did drink a 12 pack of Mt Dew today... Sweet sweet caffeine, nectar of the goods. Now if only I could stop my teeth from falling out, or see my feet....
