Dark Elf Dragon Knight

So I'm rerolling a new character on the NA server,hoping for a better ingame community and experience.

I was thinking of creating a Dark Elf Dragon Knight.
Using Light armor + Fire Destruction staf.

Mainly speccing on aoe and single target fire dmg.

Any usefull tips on this choise or are the similair builds?

    Currently leveling a toon (L30) DE DK with Light Armor, Destro/Resto as its apparently flavour of the month and I wanted to get an idea what exactly makes this so powerful. I have to admit that going through hordes of mobs isnt really a thing with standard. Can handle up to 8 so far based on mob type. ST Damage is amazeing if you cut animations. Dunno in how far this is based on class choice. I play DE in any TES game so I did never spent a second on thinking about classes :)

    Edit: I am running with Engulfing Flames, Molten Whip, Unstable Flame, Burning Talons, Coagulating Blood, Standard of Might and Stonefist, Unstable Flame, Molten Armaments, Illustrous Healing, Mutagen, Corrosive Armor. I am shortly before reaching L6 with the Mages Guild, this is when I will give Volcanic Rune a shot and maybe level up Mage Light.

    Edit one more: There is a set that makes your attacks having a 10% chance to breathe fire, dunno the name right now. I got that one (5 pcs). Any attribute points into health and magicka runes on equip.

    I have a Dunmer DK, and the Dunmer affinity for fire magic goes very well with that class.

    However I do think that if you are re-rolling on the NA server in hope of a better community, you will be disappointed - I play on both servers and they are pretty much the same.
    What makes the difference is finding and being a part of a good guild, and you can do that on either server.

    The dmg output seems lower than I exeprienced with my nightblade+destruction staf. Also my defense towards level 6 mobs is quite disappointing they cut through me like I'm a slice of butter.

    You cant expect level 7 to be a hint of what you can do later in the content.
    Level 7 offers you not much from staff apart from heavy attack. The morphed kickback with stun is anyway a good start. I leveled to 15 with 2 weapons and used Whirlwind for AE. Later I started with the staffs. This is getting much better >20, believe me :)

    The DK (fire mage) build that I use struggled through the first dozen levels or so, simply because you don't have the spells and synergies yet. By level 20, there is literally nothing like it as far as feeling powerful

    My build through most of the game -
    - Elemental Blockade (wall of fire/destroy)
    - Fiery breath (DK - don't remember the morphs name)
    - Talons (DK - with fire DoT morph)
    - Impulse (elemental ring/Destro)
    - Rune of fire (volcanic rune)

    I used to keep dragon blood up until I got the rune of fire.

    Pop the rune.. blasts them up into the air... lay down the wall of fire, fiery breath and talons.. Everything around you is dead at that point... Impuse if you need just a bit more.

    Can even easily solo the Public Dungeons in ColdHarbor this way. Don't ask me about Vet levels though. I played this character to V2 before wanting to restart a new character.

    add vampire and you will be the perfect epitome of irony.
    I play every class in every situation. I love them all.

    I killed off a mid-20s character to roll a DE DK Resto/Destro, 5 Light and 2 Heavy. Once you hit 15 it's like playing in Easy mode. Played Resto up to 15 with the first Destro skill slotted for the free ride.

    This is exactly what my first toon and my main character is.

    Talk about choosing the right build out of blind luck! I didn't know beforehand this would be OP.
