We need a new bar for sprinting and crowd control

It has proven to be wrong time after time and its a suprise that you have this combat layout as it is... :(

Caster vs Melee:

Caster: Always mana and can always attack.. Stamina for sprinting and dodge etc etc
Melee/bow: Stamina for sprinting, dodge... and attack? yeah you see the problem...


Suggestion: Make a third bar for sprinting for all classes and its equal... Now a caster can run and dodge and always be able to attack but melee/Bow use everything with one bar...

The tird bar will have its own power to be used for sprinting,sneak, dodge...
It cant be the way it is now... so plz think about it... Kind regards Mathias

    How they have made it is really flawed and needs a separate bar for sprinting and dodging. They could call it something else like Endurance and make the bar purple.

    Endurance requires stamina. I guess you don't do much physical exercise.

    But if you are stamina your click attacks should crit and hit harder then a mages click attacks.

    But what is extra damage and crit worth if you cant attack...? For ex you are chasing a teleporting sorce and if u finaly get in range you cant attack but he can turn around, attack and kill you... Naa this is not a disscusion this is what is needed for the combat to function...

    No need to be rude and make asumptions. I know that, I was thinking of what would be another word for stamina and that is endurance and that is what it could be called. So that it would be like stamina but can be used for sprinting and blocking instead.

    other games do infact have a different resource for dodging and sprint. Hope they do that here.

    I agree, I have gone a more stam based tanky build, but when you have to sprint or dodge to chase/avoid enemies, you are out of stamina and can't use any of your skills or block. I think this is actually one of the aspects that makes stam builds that much weaker then magicka builds. If all your abilites are magicka then fine you can spend all your stam on dodging, sprinting and getting out of CC because you don't need to save your stam to be able to do any damage.

    @EliteZ I thought it was only weapon skills that used Stamina? Why can't you use class skills when you have run out of weapon skill resource.

    Can I just add, that all classes use interrupts/dodges/stealth etc. I'm getting a bit sick of this pity party.

    As a magicka based class, I would love to put all my points into Magicka, but I need to keep stamina up for the same reasons as everyone else. I also use feat reduction/stam recovery glyphs, otherwise my fighters guild skills would be a waste of a skill slot.

    Maybe the build we are using doesn't have much magicka abilities, if any? You've just said you need to put points in stam as a magicka based class, so what about the people that are going 4/5 stam abilities or so? What are we suppose to do once we have just blew all of our stamina chasing down the BE sorc or had to use all of our stam breaking out of spammed CC or had to dodge roll out of an ability. I'll answer that for you, unless we have any magicka abilies slotted, nothing.

    Yes all classes do use interrupts/dodges/stealth, but not all players use 5/5 magicka abilities because it's the FOTM.

    Most games that have a sprint/dodge will have that as a separate resource, not have it on the same resource as all of your abilities could possibly use.

    Id rather they just sort out stamina instead of doing the dodge sprint stuff like wildstar does. id want this game to be more like skyrim than wildstar.

    Believe it or not, WildStar was not the first MMO to have an additional resource for dodge or sprinting. You might be very simple minded, but by having a basic feature that should have been there from the start, would not make this more like wildstar.

    "If any?" Seriously? I think you are taking the 'play as you want' line too far if you think you can play a class-less character.

    You are certainly taking it too far if you expect ZOS to balance the game around players that choose to play against the game design.

    You miss my point. Wearing heavy armour WOULD have an effect on stamina / endurance. As would using a sword and shield, dodge rolling, running, crouching, etc. The game portrays this accurately and there is no need for a second, "I win" bar.

    To "fix the stamina issues", the soft cap on stamina requires raising and the damage for stamina weapons increasing somewhat.

    I play a Templar, he runs out of magicka all the time. I do not post here whining about it. I use a stamina skill / light attacks until his magicka regenerates. There is nothing to prevent stamina builds using a magicka skill / light attacks as a fall-back.

I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

    Because being tired wouldn't make you less capable of spell casting. Or spell casting wouldn't make you tired?

    At least in lore, once a mage expends themselves, they're bent over breathing hard just like they'd just run 10 miles (or half a mile, according to the mage).

    What exactly does this have to do with people requesting another bar because they believe some physical effort does not require stamina? The fact of the matter is dodging and sprinting burn stamina, just the same as wearing armour, using a sword, using a shield, etc.

    Casting spells, summoning critters, etc. I agree.

    So why should melee weapon users be the only ones who suffer for such strenuous activities?

    I would like to see medium armor reduce the cost of dodge and CC-break from 4% per piece of med armor worn to 10%, with a similar bonus to block and CC-break via heavy armor.

    Would also love to see damage soaked up via block reduce stamina the same way that taking damage while mounted reduces your horse's stamina pool (at least in Cyrodiil), but that's a little offtopic.
