Suggestion: "Known Trait" on armor and weapon tooltips.

Provisioning recipes have "known recipe" on them if you've already learned it, I think the same should apply for armor and weapons because I keep running back and forth from the bank just to check what pieces of armor and weapons and what traits on those pieces of armor and weapons that i need to research next.

It would be a QOL improvement if I can just scroll over items in the bank or my inventory and see items that don't have "known trait" message on them so it will be easier for me to know which ones i can start researching next

Surely the knowledge is in my head, not at the blacksmithing window.

I use Research Assistant and AI Research Grid addons for all my research needs - the former just puts a little coloured square in the inventory for any item with a trait you haven't researched, and the latter is something you can hotkey that will display a screen showing all the research you have already done, stuff you are currently researching, and how long to go for that research to finish, you can check the research on any character at any time without needing to find a crafting bench or log into a crafting character.

I'd very much recommend both addons to any crafters out there.

They (Zenimax) did not give us those add-ons. Those add-ons were created independently by upaid players.

I agree with those who say this should be a standard feature of the game. If those who created the add-ons suddenly stop development, those who use them will be stuck.

I thought I saw something mentioned by a dev or in an AMA or something somewhere about this or more in general about things like this. Little quality of life improvements that just make sense in the interface and tooltips.

Not a bad idea, but I already use tables, which not only tell me if I know it, but allows me to me if all my alts know it too.

But as I said, not a bad idea.

PS. the reason you get recipe known is that you read the recipe to learn it, it's consumable, I wish they had that on the racial motifs too.

Racial motifs no longer get destroyed if you try to read one you already know.

When I find a motif book I already know it tells me in the tooltip I know it already.

I have made my own spreadsheets for crafting. I know it isn't for everyone, but a game gets plus points from me if I have to do some figuring out for myself rather than having the game provide all the information I need.

It helps I have two monitors so I can keep an eye on researched traits while I am looting items, mind.

Really, I hadn't noticed, I know it tells me if I try to read it, which is why I transferred one across four chatracters before I read it. Any way I'll look for that next time.

It would be nice to see what to research somewhere other than at the crafting station. I write down what I want then go to the bank to guild shop.
