Combat , character skills, and crafting. I think most of us would agree these are the gems that make ESO worth playing.

I'd like to go over these three in detail.

Combat: It is hands down one of the best combat systems in any MMO to date.

Good-
  1. It is action based.
  2. You can use your right and left mouse to attack and block.
  3. It is a mix and match limited skill bar.
  4. Great variety of skills/spells to choose from.
  5. NPC enemies are solid.
  6. Visuals are very pretty for the most part.

Bad-
  1. It's laggy, has delays, slow switching weapons, etc.
  2. Skills keep getting nerfed for balance.
  3. Most monsters just stand in one place. Not enough wandering around. It's very static.
  4. Descriptions of powers are bad and even completely wrong at times.
  5. No real combat log.
  6. A.I. is not that great.

Character skills: Great system to make a character the way you want.

Good-
  1. Class is just a starting point.
  2. Great variety of skills/spells to choose from.
  3. Plenty of skill points to give your character a chance to play with their powers.
  4. 5 Skills on the bar makes to think about what to use.
  5. Learning new skill lines as your character explores the world.

Bad-
  1. Lack of balance in mana/stamina/health
  2. Respec system needs adjusting
  3. Descriptions of powers are bad and even completely wrong at times.
  4. Some powers seem useless
  5. PvE skills are being changed because of PvP problems

Crafting: The best crafting system I've seen in a MMO.

Good-
  1. Medium learning curve
  2. Easy to use.
  3. Takes actual real time to master a craft, even after getting to 50
  4. "Hidden" special crafting areas
  5. It's designed to be easier if you work with other players
  6. Crafted items are the best in the game.

Bad-
  1. Can't see timer on trait learning on character sheet. (there is an addon)
  2. Can't see level information on materials (there is an addon)
  3. Can't see what traits you know unless you go to a crafting table (there is an addon)
  4. Crafting materials take up too much space in our tiny banks
  5. I don't think any material should sell for 0. Should be 1 gold minimum.
  6. There is way too much /WTS in chat. (fix guild store or add AH)

Anyway, just want to say that you did some things very well, ZOS. Just needs some fine tuning.

Thanks.

    Agreed!

Except for the remark on PvE skills getting nerfed for PvP. Seen more changes due to Trials and veteran content than PvP related, but most hard-nosed PvE players refuse to admit that it's not being 'forced' on them, and that overpowered and broken abilities mess up ALL areas of gameplay, not just PvP.

Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

Damn you make me read. Damn if I can reply in time. Rereading.
"You've probably figured that out by now. Let's hope so. Or we're in real trouble... and out come the intestines. And I skip rope with them!"

    My list is as follows:
    1. Story - Character, Fighters Guild, Mages Guild. These three stories kept me engaged and coming back for more as I leveled 1 through 50. Excellent voice acting and writing in all 3.
    2. Music - Perfection. Needs no explanation.
    3. Lighting - Walking through Auridon to have the light show throught leaves in the trees or to be in a dungeon and approach some sort of flame and watch your shadow grow as you get closer. The lighting sets the mood for this game perfectly.

My only complaint with any of the 3 I chose is once I reached Coldharbour while leveling on the AD side, I wondered what had happened to the people from the Fighters Guild and Mages Guild I had grown accustomed to and had developed relationships with.

Not having Raz or Merric fight along side me against Molag Baal was a huge disappointment.

Number one has definitely got to be the cooperative design of the world they have built. It is so integral in fact, players often don't realise they have all the benefits of a party, without actually having to join one. The only downside is that (very) occasionally you will complete an achievement without contributing, but it's a tiny price to pay for a mostly non-instanced world in which 'kill-stealing' isn't a thing.

Number two would be range and challenge of combat. VR5 with no complaints about the so called difficulty at Veteran level and I am an average player at best. ZOS got this just right, in my opinion.

There are so many areas I could choose for #3. Lore, environment, exploration, crafting and money/time sinks are all satisfyingly in depth. I don't want content I can rush through. Yes it may seem artificial to take a month to research a trait on an item just because it happened to be the 8th one I learned, but how satisfying it is to achieve. I'm a lover of longer learning curves, so will plump for the pace ZOS have set as my third favourite thing.

Nicely done. I agree with everything except putting "limited action bar" in "good."
War, give me war, give me war.

I would disagree with some of the things you listed as "good," and move them to the "bad" list (after some slight tweaks to adjectives), myself.
This is all part of the game.
