I actually agree. The more difficult content does drive those of us who are stubborn or apt to learn into becoming better at our class. That's been my case 100%.
Sadly, not all players want to be forced to get better to play. I like the more difficult content, personally, but I don't see anything wrong with giving players a handicap.
