Kuta & Purple VR5 recipes (Question for those in the know!)

Just wondering if anyone knows what are the drop rates for Kuta enchanting runestone and Purple VR5 recipes? I never found lots of purple VR5 recipes, maybe once ever in my life. But I used to find a somewhat decent amount of Kuta. At least enough for my own personal crafting needs (not enough to use for crafting and selling glyphs).

Anyway, has Kuta drop rate lowered that anyone else has noticed? I've found less out in the wild and I haven't seen ONE in any of my 5 trading guild stores in about 2 weeks or so. And the purple VR5 recipe rate seems to have always been low, but I farm good locations for hours sometimes, on many days that I play, and never come across one.

That being said, can anyone suggest some of the better locations for farming those purple VR5 recipes? I've been doing the Vulkhel Guard manor house/bank in Auridon and in Reaper's March at the Rawl/Kha inn...

Thanks in advance, oh knowledgeable ones!

I can't speak for VR5 purple recipes, but Kuta certainly have not been lowered.
You must be having a dry spell. RNG is a fickle mistress.

The sale of Kuta in stores has less to do with the drop rate and more to do with the influx of VR10-12 players who suddenly want to use them instead of selling them.

I never thought of it that way (with more VR10-12s coming in)...good point.

I've always thought that the drop rate for harvesting Kuta to be around 5%. I haven't seen much change since launch, frankly.

Also, probably one of the largest influx of Kuta (and other gold items) was from the hirelings. There was a bug/exploit with the hireling containers. You could get say an enchant hireling on multiple characters (at lv3 Enchant only) but if you opened the container on your main enchanter, it'd look at that enchanter's passives. That means instead of the really low chance for Kuta from a lv3 enchanter, you'd be getting the much higher chance of say a lv40 enchanter with maxed passives for all those containers. That's why you now get items directly instead of the containers.

So yeah, increased demand + a bugfix to reduce supply = price increase.
Although the increase in nodes does help increase the supply some.

    Great explanation, thanks!
