I know i would be playing something else if i felt like that.
Will never understand why people post crap like this.

I don't like what i'm playing i leave and move on.
Really a simple thing try it .

I was playing another mmo that didn't have much population. A bunch of people came to this game and started telling me how great it was and how it was so full of people that sometimes it is hard to find mobs to kill in dungeons.

So I migrated to this game and two weeks later all my guilds started growing empty and when you look at the levels of people who have left they are usually VR1-VR3. It is pretty obvious here the problem is.

I haven't rushed through the game and I have enjoyed it so far but apart for some pvp it feels like just another single player game which is not what I was looking for. I haven't decided if I will sub for another month. It all depends on where things stand in 2 weeks time or if I want to play an alt 1-50.

I am hoping they will make some changes and that many people will come back but I am growing worried that even if they do make the effort people have made up their minds about the game and will stubbornly refuse to return.

not dead. just has some issues. my only 2 problems. Vet zones could be better, and PvP seems almost impossible to have any fun in till high VRs unless you don't care about dying a lot. that's just me though

I have been saying that since beta... Back then it was, 'oh this is the beta, there will be more with the full release'.. then it was 'oh can't wait for the first update' now it's... 'why am I still paying for this again?'.

Wait, you mean this ain't still in beta?;)

The game hasn't died as in ended. It's just that fewer people are logging in and as often. It could be due to seasonal reasons. ZOS doesn't care if people don't log in as often as during the first month after launch. What matters to them is that players keep paying their subscription. The real test to see if the game has "died" will be when ZOS introduces new content.

While I can not speak of the 'game' personally what is reducing the amount of fun for me would be 2 things (yup just 2 thus far):

    1) No server wise auction house (this is a really big thing with me)
    2) Need to press my mouse twice to fire my staff (#1 to move staff from store to hand and #2 to fire) I reeeeaaaalllyyy hate that..with a passion and this could be the reason I quit the game...just destroys my fun..While my staff is stored if I press mouse attack button I want it to move to hand and fire with ONE press.

Not a other post about this *sight*

Well i don't know about you OP but after year of playing different mmo i know that under summertime the player base number is dropping big time even in game like WoW that have been around for years and it have do with thing call school holiday and vacation you get from work and if good summer with that i mean not so much rain. Here in Sweden our schools is close for 10 weeks and most people that work take between 4 to 6 weeks vacations so ofc number will drop for people tend to go away on there vacations and not stay home.

Also WS went online early this month and many people are playing that atm many do only play the 1st free 30 days then the move on to new mmo or go back to there old ones so i would not worry that much about this game is dead i think it will pick up the close we get fall again.

The only people I have seen fleeing are mostly the 'end-game race levelers'. Then you have to ask yourself, is that really a bad thing? These were people who completely skipped 90% of the games content to get to MAX level as fast as possible.

Once there, they complain that there is nothing to do... well, duh.. You skipped the game!

I see a whole lot of people playing the game 1-50. So its hardly dead.

I don't think so. The game has been out 3 months. I have not been an "end-game racer" by any stretch. My main is VR10 and I haven't skipped anything. I have a guild and I have lost more people than I can recruit to replace them. Many of them quit after getting into vet content. I had hoped to field a guild trials group but that doesn't look likely any time soon because people aren't sticking around long enough to amass 12 max level players to try.

Even though I haven't quit myself I can understand why some have left. The game is lacking a lot of polish. Missing features. Poor performance. Bugs galore. Out of balance difficulty in veteran areas. It starts to become a chore to level and there isn't enough variety. Don't get me wrong..I like the questing but it starts to drag on so it would be nice if there were more options for PvE or at least any reason to run the dungeons more than once to get the skill point. It's also getting quite old fighting with the god awful guild bank and guild stores.

Also, a lot of the people you are seeing in the 1-50 areas are people playing alts instead of the vet content. I have seen this first hand. Earlier on there were many more in the vet areas like everywhere else but they are ghost towns now. The ones who haven't quit are leveling up alts (including myself) because it's more fun than the vet areas and they just get worse as there are less people because then you can't complete dolmens, WBs, public dungeons and even some solo content.

I still have hope this game will be much better eventually but I'm losing faith that it will be any time soon.

The game seems unfinished and lacking a lot of features. Not something that you should pay a sub for. And some of the features the game has is pointless or broken like fishing could of been good, but is worthless and buggy. Iam only staying until Archeage Online is released as that game has a truck load of features. Then maybe after a while ESO will be a more finished and I can return to a game that ESO should be.

100%. Archeage is the only thing out there I am even remotely excited about anymore. Major plus that its by Trion Worlds. I had way more fun in Rift than I ever had in this game, sad to say. :(

EDIT: I take it back. Archeage is starting to look more and more like an overly gimmicky and "next big innovation"-driven arrow flying far off the mark of the formula that works for MMOs. Hope I'm wrong, but honestly, its looking a lot like a new shiny gimick catering to the "grind to level cap" pvp-pre-teens like everything else on the market.

I dont think the game is dead. There's still alot of people playing, especially in the lower level zones.

But I am guessing that there are some people that have the same experience I have:

Before the game was launched with a monthly cost, I was like "meeeeeh is it really worth a monthly compared to GW2 WvW? How can I know? Well maybe if the guild is moving over". At roughly 30+ possible people that where going to play ESO in the guild, I decided to sure, I'll go for it. I'll take a chance on your monthly fee, maybe the game is so good it'll be worth it.

Then the game launched and many where dismayed by the bugs, glitches and crap that should have been resolved with the beta. Personally it wasnt as horrible as the open beta for me, but it wasnt good to see bugs within hours of playing as a noob. The later server downtimes annoyed something incredible, but most people endured the lower levels at least.

As we leveled up, the guild started to grew apart. Since there is no good way to group quest in this game or go help lower level characters, we just when further and further apart. A couple of weeks later we where all over the place and lots of people had left due to bugs/glitches/annoying little things.

When we tried to go into Cyrodiil as a group to sort of buff the morale of the guild, it was pretty much a disaster because we're playing on the so called "EU" server. The latency issues and skill lag just put everyone off (even ignoring the plethora of bugs).

Then after a while there came a point where we couldnt even gather a group in Cyrodiil, because there are too few peeps. And Cyrodiil isnt all that fun solo. Its better now in terms of lag than what it was on release, but its not good at all compared to much smoother games. You can gather a pug group sure, but we're really lacking the tools for it.

And now, months later... I'm mostly waiting for my subscription to run out. Because its not really any fun anymore. EU moving to the EU may be a redeeming factor but I honestly doubt it. I cannot warrant paying a monthly fee for not having fun with my friends. ESO is a beautiful game and I like soo many things about it but when weighing it against games that doesnt have a monthly fee, I question the amount of money I will be forced to put into it.

So really, I've come full circle on the subscription reasoning, lol. I was against it at first, I accepted it later, I thought it was worth it at a glance, then I started having doubts and now I fail to see the point. Its petty, I know.

First of all, please define "Dead". Everywhere I go its tons of players, its even more players in the 1-50 zones than at launch, just check a random bank anywhere.

Bots and goldspammes has really been taken care of, only the most persistent is still around. Its ALOT better than it was 1 month ago!

Why do you pay 13€ for 1 month? Should get it for at least 15% less at a bit over 10€

First of all, with the megaserver architecture you wont really notice a massive drop in players until the numbers are below what it would take to fill a single regular server in another MMO.

You can get a better grasp of the game population if you are in any full guild where anyone who can kick inactive players is also inactive. In these guilds you will see that there are 500 players (accounts) and that less than 25% of them have logged in within the last week.

The game is not dead but it is in decline when the expectation was that it would be highly successful because of Elder Scrolls name and Skyrim fame.

Its a sub based game so the bar is set pretty high! By now people have realized that 'play how you like' if for 1 to 49. If you want to have fun and do well after 50 its light armor and a staff in one hand (resto). What makes it even more limiting is that if you want to DPS forget Templar! So the game is basically one build with 3 different flavors.

To add insult to injury we have no central trading house which has produced zombie guilds filled with hundreds of players for the sole purpose of using guild store....

Stamina might have been intended to be a resource that can stand on its own two feet as a main source of damage or it may have never been intended to do so..no idea and that is another negative...

PvP is ok for a start but we need more variety and more maps...many more maps...

I unsubscribed today together with my partner.

    Reasons we unsubbed:
    - Sorc and DK only good classes for PVE (Templar and NB suck)
    - Takes ages to find a group for PVE dungeons
    - No reason to run PVE dungeons, crafted gear is better and epic gear is faster to grind in Craglorn.
    - Too many bugs (large groups crash and kick random players from server everytime someone zones in or out, or relogs), bosses bugging, raid bugging. The game feels like an alpha or beta, certainly not a stable release.
    - Not enough players for PVE, resulting in waiting for 1-2 hours.
    - Templars don't bring any value to the raid. Sorcs bring Negate Magic which allow you to bypass raid bosses, DK's bring fiery chain to pull mobs into volcanic rune pits etc... Templars bring nothing.
    - Only light armor is viable for DPS and even tanking in most cases.
    - Too hard to switch BARS and GEAR. Yes there's Wykkyd outfitter, but there's no such thing for castbars. When I swap from DPS to tanking gear, I want my bars to swap too. Developers locked that down, for no reason

In the end, the main reason is that the game feels dead at VR12. Noone seems to be doing PVE at VR12, and we simply couldn't be bothered anymore to wait sometimes HOURS for raids or PVE dungeons.

We'll be trying Archeage, I hear the PVE is pretty good, I hope to find some of the friends I made in this game over there.
