A Nerf is Coming ....

Many of you have asked what we’re doing to make skills, passives, and builds based on stamina more viable and as attractive as the magicka-based options. Below is a first look at some of the improvements we’re making to stamina-based skills and passives. As with all our balance efforts, this is an ongoing process and there will be more to come. We look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Medium Armor
  • With the Wind Walker passive, medium armor will reduce stamina costs by 2% per piece equipped.

Soon, my light armor wearing brethren, you will find yourselves in a quandary. No longer top of your hill. No longer king of your domain. No longer 'the only choice'.

Some of you will celebrate, free of the shadowsilk bonds that strap you to that musty bed. To you, liberation will be at hand. Don those leathers. Take up against your oppressors.

But to many, you will be visiting these forums, trying to rouse up the masses to support your 'horrible situations'. You will see them doing as well as you, sometimes better, and you will cry 'OhPee'.

Why will nobody see?

Why does nobody understand?

And we will laugh! Silently, menacingly, because we don't want to break stealth before we double crit on ya.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

I would not mind dusting off my dual wield/bow VR1 one Nightblade. But no stamina build buffs are going to motivate me to level through VR zones again until they fix that mess.

    Got kinda into it.

Just predicting the cries of 'foul' when this goes live and more mages start losing battles or getting passed over for dps roles.

Any buff nerfs someone else, in some way.

Could you link to the post the quote was taken from? I missed it somewhere but would be interested to read it.
Will the Wind Walker passive be gaining this in addition to the Stamina Recovery, or will it be replacing it?

I never really had an issue with the cost of Stamina based skills while wearing full Medium; I just found the Stamina based skills to be mediocre and not worth the tradeoff to build for compared to Magicka based skills.

I think the passives should be exactly the same for each armor type with the only difference being that Light passives deal with Mag, Med with and Stam and Heavy with Health. Then no one can complain one armor type is OP.

i dont know guys, Full light, destro will probably still be better. There are no really hard hitting spammable Skills on the stam side. We will see what that change is going to do.

But i dont think that changes much.

You obviously dont PVE lol. leather will give you a 14% reduction while light gets you 28% lol. And this is what zos is balancing around? a stealth chr that runs around griefing people with ones shots. no wonder the game is so F'd up. Enjoy it while it lasts . None of those changes will bring a stam build up to par with a stave and light armor DPS in sustained fights for end game PVE.

It is what i did. My sorc in light armor Vr 4 Decimates my VR 12 dk in heavy armor on all fronts Tank DPS and healer. Ive done all the VR dungeons with the sorc there is litteraly no difference in mitigation. the Magica regen is incredible and ive only 300 HP less then my DK. With two abilites im 1200 points over soft cap on armor. Laughable.

My biggest problem with the classes is all the crying. Seriously. In a fps, if someone says a weapon is OP, I tell them to use it. No one is forcing you to use a harder class, and perhaps you did not consider that they are intentionally harder. I mean, I really don't care what the devs choose to do with their game, but seriously, stop crying about NB already. If the game is too hard for you, choose a different class. Or keep crying, whatever. You're free to cry, and I'm free to cry about how lame crying is, but you started it, so I win.

You're right, after the patch medium armor will have 24% reduction, 21% recovery (same as light, your 28% is miscalculated btw), and 21% crit. Depending on class and weapon set, we can get anywhere between 40%-80% armor penetration.

You make it a medium armor passive, then anyone who wants to be a pure stamina dps build can use their magicka for blocking/dodging etc
This would serve to make tank build variety much more interesting also.

Yours is probably the most ridiculous comment in this thread.

You're assuming you can change classes and make V12s as quickly as you can choose a different weapon in a fps. This is a game where balance is needed (mmo), because people put so much time and effort into one character, they don't have the time to make another one just "because the other class is stronger".
