I've been loving the questing, best I've experienced in a long time. The world is breathtaking and immersive to me and I love the combat. I know the game has it's problems, but for me personally it hasn't made me want to stop playing, I'm way too addicted :)

It was immersive for me until Vet 1. Then I was left standing in Auridon with a perfect WTF face on. I mean, I just killed the all powerful Molag Bal. And now, I have to babysit these other factions? All who have no idea who I am? The nerve!

The Elder Scrolls Online probably isn't the worst MMO I've ever played.

In early access, I thought the informal grouping with strangers, as you happened upon each other, was annoying, especially competing for quest items, but now with patches fixing that, I like the informality of coming together and meeting the challenge at hand, sometimes without saying a word to one another, and then moving on. Sometimes, you can just wait a few minutes at a boss, or other challenge, and it's not long when someone will come along to help you it. But if you want a formal group, you can do that with the grouping tool, or joining a guild, or advertising for help in zone chat. It's that kind of freedom, that strengthens "play your way", and that makes ESO attractive as an MMO.

Play your way? I lol'd you for that. I dont run with a stick and skirt so I cant play my way.

Yeah, but like the OP said, this isn't the thread for that. I was just pointing out that informal grouping strengthens "play your way", and obviously the skirt and stick problem takes away from that, which should be discussed in another thread, or two, or three.

Almost full support for multi monitor spanning setups and low requirements that allow playing on older machines at a reasonably high GFX setting. I like the outdoors IRL but just wandering in this game is giving it a run for it's money.

I would much prefer the impatient typical mmo player leave over "all the problems" and a core group of casuals RPGers can keep this afloat and see it at it's true potential. I've played 20+ hours a week since launch and have reached level 34 and 18 on my 2 characters so I'm still 2-3 months from caring about end game.

I get where you're coming from with that having hit Vet 1 myself the other day, it it is a very jarring experience and I'd class that as one of ESO's problems. I do hope that it will be something that they'll address at some point. In the meantime I've just decided to roll with it and set my cap at lore book hunting and stuff, but that's just my perspective.

To be fair, getting those toons to 90 can be some of the most tedious times of any mmo. But that wasn't the point of those. Blizzard has completely shifted their game play from hardcore customization to casual style, so that is specifically for them.

Yes they stopped "working" this game due to likely lack of demand for gold. Draw your own conclusions.

Dungeon finder with a heal button.

I typically get 90 in less than 4 days realtime, if only because I've done it 10 times and can do it blindfolded.

It does go to show though how much people hate leveling in games that there's even a market for those guides.

This is the most fun I've had in an Elder Scrolls game since Morrowind.

Lots and lots of Daedra! Was bored stiff by killing basically the same dragon over and over again in Skyrim. Lots of games have dragons. Only Elder Scrolls has Daedra. And so many Daedra! Most of our old friends from Morrowind and Oblivion have returned, but we also have cool new ones like Watchers and Harvesters.

I have been playing since early access and I am only about halfway through Bangkorai. And it is not that I have been playing 1 hour a week. I play every night. There is just *that* much content. Between quests and crafting and selling stuff and buying stuff and just exploring. And once I finish DC, I still have just as much content in AD and EP waiting for me, although I am not sure if I will do it as VR or start a new character.

I love love love that they encourage helping people, there is no punishment for helping somebody that is getting a beat down. its rewarded by being able to loot the mobs you just helped kill while they still get to loot as well.

I like that veteran content filters out the bad players so the end game is a LOT more fun.

I don't like that this will eventually kill the game because people want to faceroll.

I also like the customization - people say you have to wear staff and light armor to be the best and while that is true I'm sure they will fix it.

I go melee and my own builds while solo or pvping and go the FOTM spec for raids (like...every mmo ever)

    1. Name another MMO with better written and voiced quests. I can't.
    2. Nostalgia.
    3. The in-game community has been strangely polite and helpful to me. Weird.

Side note to the OP, I thought about posting this same thing a while ago but decided against it for fear of being troll bait. Kudos to you, sir.

I feel like reading these forums can be a bummer. Doesn't have to be.

I really really like the combat system. They removed cooldowns and replaced them with resource management. Combine that with reactive combat (block, cc break, dodge, etc.) and you have one the most revolutionary steps taken by an MMO in a long time. I love building around "if this happens" rather than set rotations.

Cyrodiil is also a ton of fun. The siege system is amazing. Even in 100 v 100 I find myself rushing back from the rez because I feel like I can be the difference between defeat and victory. They did an amazing job making you feel like you impact the map and battles.

I love the crafting system. I love how powerful and plentiful they have made potions...

I actually could go on for days on all the things I love about this game.

The thing about getting to max level in WoW is that there are many different ways to get there. There is something for almost everyone. So you're brand new to WoW and if you get bored leveling then an mmo probably isn't the kind of game for you.

ESO IS a fine game, that has managed to capture the "magick" of the Elder Scroll series to a satisfactory degree. If we wanted to be honest we would admit that the task of transforming the unique world of Tamriel and Elder Scrolls, with 20 years history behind them, into a perfect MMO experience, would be quite overwhelming and probably impossible.

So, in this department, I would say ESO has delivered much of what was expected. It can still be a great gaming experience, simply because one can be immersed in the environment and story, even if not totally familiar with the Elder Scrolls saga. And artistically the game is also a high quality product (yes, even if not quite to the Skyrim level, but again, it is an MMO).

    So far, so good.

There have been some fairly striking disappointments though, I just hope all this is down to "inexperience" with actual MMO design and functions. Admittedly, Zeni have been fairly quick in combating (or at least trying their best) some important issues, like bots and gold sellers (and YES, it is indeed evident those said chaps are far fewer these days).

On the other hand they have been rather slow in addressing some other issues that have to do with gameplay itself, and these were known since the Beta days, and now kinda blown out of all proportions. From what I read, they promise they are working on those and soon we should see results. Again, I do hope so.

So, in conclusion, I still vote for ESO as being an overall good gaming experience. Well, at least until "VR content", ah and those "class and resource management" issues. These are the parts where it loses points. Apart from those, I give it the thumbs up.

ESO is the first ES game that has not to be rated 18+ because of the ugliness of its character models. Kudos for giving us nice looking characters and NPCs for once.

I also like all the shiny details put in the game, that you will not notice if you don't take time to smell the roses as I do. For instance, the siamese cat licking and cleaning up in one of the shops counter on Khenarthi's Roost, I took at least 5 screenshots of this cat. All these little details + the huge lore (hundreds of books all interesting to read) make the world of Tamriel feel ALIVE.
