You'll have to elaborate on that. What exactly happens?

Sorry I just die immediately. I shoot a coupe of arrows or use my staff, then I'm done. I am a wood elf sorcerer. I don't have enough coin to leave.

Get yourself some healing skills ready, this battle is pretty complicated otherwise. Concentrate on skeletons and later when bone colossus (or whatever his name is) come up let Lyris tank him. If he starts coming to you run away until she grabs him. With that you should be fine. Obviously make sure that your armor and equipment is of appropriate level and have plenty of healing pots ready. If you really struggle with health, use some health raising food as well.

TBH the Main Story fights are horribly over-tuned compared to everything else, they just get worse as you go through them.

As @pavelcherepanskyrwb17_ESO says, the NPCs with you can tank quite nicely if you let them, though some of the adds will come for you.

One tip here is at the end of the first wave let Lyris tank the remaining skeleton(s) while you pause to regen, this'll mean you'll start the next wave at full again.

The fire mage skeletons do a lot of damage so try to get some CC if you can and make sure to interrupt their casting whenever possible.

Personally I loathe the Main Story fights due to their stupidly insane mob buffing, there's no reason you have to do these on-level or anything like, in fact my latest Templar didn't do beyond this fight till he was 44 because I just got tired of them on earlier characters.

You mean you have no gold to even leave the instance using a Wayshrine port?

If that's the case then you should be able to use Travel To Player to get out if you know someone in your faction you can do that with or maybe get someone to mail you some gold to use.

Yeah, it's biased against Light Armour, my sorc level 23 just got killed twice in the first rush. He's now waiting a few moree levels before retrying.

My Templar did it level 20, although it was a struggle, but my Sorc needs more hit points, better Armour and some new skills. They need to rebalance enemies, whats an easy fight for one class is near impossible for another, unless you build them the same, at which point why have different classes.

Basically 2 thinks one needs to learn in this fight.

1.Move and move constantly if needed
2.Prioritize, the mages just must go down first

Most quests reset after a while, I'm not sure if this happens with the main story but I don't see why not.

I must say, this was the hardest quest of them all up to VR for me.

I found that on the main story quests I had to be two or three levels above the recommended level - I found them to be hard. Two or three levels made them doable.

Yeah, it happens to main story quests too.
It helps if you log onto an alt for a while, maybe do some crafting.

I couldn't do it at level 20 on my light armor templar but managed it on my medium armor dw/bow NB.
As a poster above mentioned, in the early rounds, kill the fire mages first. Once interrupted, they die easily.
Let Lyris tank the bone guy and you should be good.

you can get out, after you die the whole story starts over. Don't talk to abnur thar but go back were you came from, there is a portal there to beam out.
it's a hard one, the skeletons are hard.
If you have a skillpoint to spend it's worth it to use it on the fightersguild, the first one you can get, it stunns death and deadra. That way you shoot two and take others down... that's how I managed.

Silver Bullets morphed is indeed a pretty powerful skill for many fights like this.

@apisto I just beat that quest with a 25 level Altmer Sorc, so I will add to what the others have been saying.

    Use Silver Shards/bullets.
Use a health boosting food, a good high boost helps a lot.
Use Bound Armour, if you don't have it get it, it helps keep you alive.
Use a staff, I used fire, but it's up to you, you will run out of magicka in this fight.
Move around a lot, take out the skelton staff weilding magic users first.
If you use summons refresh them when they die.
Have a high level health potion in your quickslot, and have it selected.

Finally the higher level and better gear you have, the more likely you are to walk through this one. In rectrospect I might have been able to do it level 23 if I had had bound armour and silver bullets.

You don't specify staff type, but if you are using restoration staff, regeneration is pretty amazing for the heal per magicka spent.

That plus silver bolts and circle of protection from the fighters guild (which are awesome for most of the fighter guild quests AND the main story quest as well as lots of other content) helped me do this quest first try at level.

As others mentioned, take out the fire mages first, they hit hard!

This was a pain. After being pummelled several times I eventually beat the SOB by going into sneak straight away while he prattles at Abnur at the start - just before the skelly's spawn. I picked a pillar behind him crouched right next to the forcefield. Lyris will engage the skelly nearest her. Wait. The others will look for you but not see you and they'll return to their positions. Attack Lyris' opponent with a ranged ability. Both of you should take him down easily. Go back into stealth. Range attack the next one - Lyris will now attack this mob. And repeat. Just remember to re-stealth especially before the other waves. The final large mob will see you and attack but Lyris will pile in. Run then hit stealth again. He will be drawn by Lyris' aggro. Heal up if you have to then restart ranged attacks. A few trash skellys will spawn around the main mob at intervals but keep re stealthing then attacking from range and you should be able to do it. Abnur then helps to deal with Mannimarco.
