Should they increase the size of the ability bar (nr of available action bar slots)?

Yes. We need a bigger skill bar. Keep weapon swaps the way they are.
Keep weapon swap as is. Extend ability bar to 1-9.

    1. If I am a Conjurer I have to consume 2 spaces on each bar, meaning 4 abilities for the same 2 skills. If I want Inner Light on both bars, that is 2 skills. We don't really have 10 skills like some people say.

    2. Weapon Swap is fine in its current form.

    Within; Without.

I think the current sistem its fine, but maybe increasing the bar in 1 skill will make a huge (and possitive) difference.

I believe that a limited skill bar forces you to think more strategically. It also requires you to have skills and be competent in your character.

That's exactly my opinion in that matter.
I like systems with decks/builds like that.

Works great with a PS3 controller.

&$^% controllers, &^#$ limited skill bars, @#!$% shoddy UI design. I am a hero I know lots of things. These things should be available to me at all times. I would as a result very rarely 'die'. Boo hoo.

I say let people put every skill they know on unlimited bars. Why not? I know this would deviate from the vision for the console version, but complexity is one of the advantages of PC gaming.

Mostly the builds I have could use 1 more slot.

Just 1 more would work for me

A bigger bar, maybe 8 to 10 slots... Plus 2 potion slots & 2 ultimate slots... But no skill bar swapping in combat.

Ability to store at least a couple of alternative skill bars.

Since potions are timer limited, ultimates are ultimate limited and skills are resource limited the extra slots add extra tactics of how to best spend finite resources rather than just slotting 5 skills and mashing away.

And swapping weapons in combat needs to be independent of the skill bar and take some time as it would if one were to stash a staff and whip out a two handed mace... But skills should be readily available as you just know them.

I would LIKE to have one or two more, but I am perfectly happy with the current arrangement.

1 more slot and have it assigned only for Alliances war skills.

having only 5 active abilities is so BORING.

I'm sorry, but if I wanna ONLY use dual wielding on my nightblade, than I'm either stuck just using the same 5 freaking abilities from lvl 15, or I use 2 sets of daggers to switch to use other abilities....but weapon swapping to the same type of weapon just so you can use an ability that is more situational is just dumb.

and all these people claiming it makes you "think" about what you use more and makes the game more "strategic"...give me a break. All it does is makes you choose the abilities that are most OP and are good for the most situations. It gives you no flexibility and makes your character feel like a one trick pony with no utility.

I prefer the limited action bar slots. Turns combat into a strategic challenge instead of a memory challenge. I sometime would give an arm or a log for one more but on the whole I like having to make those hard decisions about what should be on there for which encounter.

Having a limited action bar does not make combat strategic. It makes combat about pressing one or 2 buttons over and over, after your opener.

Having more buttons would make the game strategic. Then you could discover different combos - longer combos - and have a greater variety of responses to differing situations.

If you had as many bars as other mmos it would be near impossible to use them. Go ahead try moving your mouse around while moving with WASD and trying to hit 9 on your keyboard

Nope. I've keymapped 40 or so keys in my previous mmo and had no issues using any of them. It's just a matter of becoming comfortable with the choices you've made.

It forces you to choose instead of getting everything you want. It's the same as everything else in the game. What class, what skills, what armor, what faction, etc. Be happy you have a spell bar. Imagine if you had to swap spells like in Skyrim or Oblivion. And then remember that you only had two hands to use everything, so 1 weapon and 1 spell or two spells, or maybe only a two handed weapon. Welcome to TES. Take it or leave it. The current layout seems to work well, and anymore abilities and there will be too many buttons to press.

There is far too many skills in the game just to allow 5 normal and 1 ulti on the skill bar. Allowing more skills will also help deal with different situations better and may increase skill, since currently people just pick the 5 best spells and just rotate that. Allowing more skills may help counter some of the "best" spells.

Five skills is very limiting and forces spamming the same 1-2 abilities (often just 1 ability) repeatedly, making combat less strategic and more about ability spam and rolling away from red circles. This makes builds more cookie cutter and increases PvP cries to nerf the current FOTM ability.

More ability slots = more chance to include support and CC abilities into gameplay and to enable players to actually use the range of abilities each weapon has.

If the problem is trying to balance PC gameplay around console control design then adding a couple of slots to enable passive/ buff abilities to be included would help a little.
