I agree. If devs planned to not show character name upon one but made it visible only after targeting one then they should also add at least guild name under it. The point of most guilds is to be recognized and if there is pvp guild then they for sure want to make enemies *** their pants when they see their guild name. It is possible if devs would add one thing to guild system - representing one guild (running under its tag). In guild wars 2 it was really great as you could've been in many guilds (like in eso) but you were representing one guild at time. I also think that it would improve game and make it more "playable". I completely have no idea why devs decided to make the mmo without such essential thing.

K/D is not pointless or meaningless at all. I have seen a huge focus on pvp in mmo's that have this. It gives players a goal to work towards and therefore more motivation to play the game.
Dye and Tabards are coming but is it enough to make guilds worth it?
On the sandbox side you are totally right, but in Eso it simply doesn't work. For those of us pvpers who love the game but struggle to find motivation, battlegrounds would be our salvation. We are sick and tired of hammering away at usually empty keeps.
My main problem with ESO, like I know with many of my guild mates and many others, is that there is way too much anonymity. You are literally just another pointless soldier fighting in the war. Thats not why people play mmo's! We want to be able to stand out, be recognised and be able to notice, fear or love other players.
I honestly believe that with a few simple changes the game would not only stop dying but grow in population. Sure there are many problems in the game currently but this problem is the true problem for an mmo. A few essential changes could include:
-A K/D ratio. Sure it encourages K/D *** and people being cowardly but it also gives players a goal to work towards and to strive to bring out their best, instead of mindlessly running into keeps.
-Guild Emblems and cloaks. << This is a must! There is absolutely 0 recognition of guilds in ESO making them virtually useless besides being able to keep track of your friends easier. Having your name on a keep doesn't quite cut it. In my opinion Keeps should get your Guild Emblem on the walls. Cloaks should be available with the emblem on so you can be recognised by others. Even a logo by someone's name would be great.
-More equipment and colour varieties. The Dye patch will help this somewhat but its tiresome right now running around Cyrodiil and seeing so many people dressed the same or wearing the same disguise. Its like seeing a load of generic mobs next to each other.
-Finally the pvp front. I can suggest many changes here but by far the most important change which is needed ASAP is minigames/battlegrounds. There should be 4vs4 or 8vs8 small battlegrounds with leaderboards. This would catch the interest of many pvpers and i'm sure would lure alot of people to the game.
Well this is my 2p. What do you guys think? Should recognition be encouraged? Or is being another anonymous fighter a quality of this game?
I never understand the need some have to be special snowflakes. I wear gear that pleases me to the eye, I couldn't give a monkey's if everyone is wearing it too.Well this is my 2p. @Verkheart
1) They are by no means addressing every issue. 2) Any issue they are addressing is not up to a good standard in the slightest.
You seriously can't try to defend ZOS here.
