New Armour

Humm, I just hit Vet 2, i just made a week ago a beautiful Vet 1 set, but im wondering if I should make a new set at each vet level or if that's just a waste ??? Wondering what people think about that

You'll want to make a new set at each vet level IMO. Things happen fast in the vet areas with regard to NPC trash working you over so armor up.

Not to mention it seems if you do ride out a piece of armor from say vet 1 into a vet 2 or 3 area, it feels as though it degrades a lot faster with use...just something I noticed when I had a piece I liked from a V4 area and used it up into V6 ( I was being stubborn lol).

I wouldn't @Arora‌, unless you want to change the special crafting set you have.

I upgraded all of my gear when I hit VR3 and all I got was an extra 1 point of armour for each pice.

Total waste of mats.

I will not make any new pieces till I gain at least another two ranks.

Nah. I ran the same set (blue crafted) v1-5 and v5-10. You get so little each level that it's a complete waste unless you have more crafting materials than you know what to do with.

Hell I still havn't changed most of my coventant v10 gear for v12 equivalents yet because all i get is like 5-7 more armor a piece.

Only thing you might want to upgrade more regularly are your weapons

same.. I did gear at VR1, VR5, VR10 and then VR12 when it came out.

I wouldn't. The increase in stats on gear throughout VR levels is minimal. I would just upgrade at each new mat. (Calcinium, Galatite, Quicksilver, Voidstone for instance)

i used my purple own crafted full medium vr1 on my nightblade (dual-wield) up until vr4 without a problem. i could have gone through vr5 as well but i was bored of that style so changed it.

I'm collecting mats for my VR12 legendary set. I currently wear a couple of Level 50 (NOT vr1 - level 50 - not sure the reasoning for that) pieces, 2-3 VR1 and 1-2 VR2 pieces. Most are Legendary because I just wanted Legendary pieces.

I'm planning on making new gear when I ding VR3 this weekend, but only going to Purple with it. The Lvl 50 pieces are starting to show their age. But i won't do it again until VR6 or 7 and unless my experience with Purple gear is bad, I'll keep it to Purple level, saving the 100K worth of legendary mats for my VR12 (if that's still the level cap).

only weapons worth upgrade, not armours. If you have a nice set, it should last you minimum to V3.

I kept falling into the trap myself, I craft new set whenever I levels up, mostly for the looks. But the reality is it doesn't matter in battle.

True, example is that on damage mitigation the difference on a 600 DMG hit between 800 armor and 1800 armor is only around 80HP

I made a new set because my set was 50 not vet 1 was not picking up new glyph to use.

I did new sets at:

V1
V4-5ish
V8-10
V12

Worked out ok, probably could have done it less, but just wanted new looks once I got some motifs in the later zones. I usually just used blue mats, saved the purple and yellow for later. YMMV.
