I don't mind the regular maintenance. Just wondering how long it should be. Perhaps a proper maintenance time frame?Hlaren_shortsheath wrote: »i played an mmo that had maintance one day and never came back online. i think was called "craft of the god's"
im glad we do get regular maint. to help and fix things even if it's just small things and slow in progress.
i will admit i do love eso even with all of it's flaws.
Here's the kicker. People always complain about maintenance. Here's what you can do during maintenance times.
1) Go do something nice for your wife/husband/child/dog... They will probably LOVE the attention and may give you a bit more leeway when you are spending the other 90% of your time glued to your computer.
2) Do some housework/repairs. If any of you are like me, then you probably have a mental list, if not a physical one, with about 20+ things on it that needs to be done around your house. Pick of few of them and do them. Its like performing your own routine maintenance.
3) Exercise. As I am getting older, I have to perform "routine maintenance" of my own (even if I don't want to do so 99% of the time). Server downtimes are a great excuse to do so. Prevents me from having to do it while the servers are up.
I could go on... but I think you can get the point. Pick an activity that you normally are forced to logout and do during the day... and do it now.

Thats all well and good, but we have next to no idea how long the maintenance will be. I want to know whether to commit to a 2 hour activity, or just go for a quick jog or smash out some study. I feel the reason people sit around and moan is because they feel that if they keep refreshing the page there is every chance the next refresh will be the one. Tell us to *** of for 2 hours rather than just being 'down'.

If you have a 2 hour activity that needs to be done, then go ahead and commit to it. Even if the servers come up 90 mins later, you "saved" yourself 90 mins that you would have had to log out and do later anyway. The server will be there when you are done. Is it that important to login the instant the servers are back?
It takes as long as it takes. They don't want to work any longer then they have too either. How long do you think this maintenance should be?
Well, it's less than an hour! Befits the patch note oh so well! Time to get back to Tamriel!

Maintenance should be as long as it needs to be, simple as that. Devs shouldn't define a fixed timeframe as that leaves the door wide open for forum ranting when it goes 30 seconds over schedule.
If it needs 3 hours for some reason, then it should take 3 hours
