We've got good news! When our next content update is released next week, you will be able to craft light jerkins.

    Thank you!

Wow, that is quick! Thank you so much. :) I love most of the robes in this game, but some of the pants' designs are so nice, it would be a shame to never show them. Yay for jerkins!

it'll likely share with a toggle button so unlikely it's more traits

Yea it's not going to be a trait... They wouldn't make you have to choose between adding xx to enchantment vs a look.... Would they? Omg that would be the ultimate troll on their part and I might even applaud that one lol

So is this an extra item as one person thinks or is it a toggle or similar. I guess we find out on Monday :)

So yea... instead of fixing manly armors, they are turning dresses into manly versions. I assume that is giving up on their part?

You are denial! You just want them to let you turn your metal Cuirass into a metal dress :D

I expect that it won't, as I expect that it will simply be an option you select at the time you're crafting your light armour chest piece. At least I hope so, given how low the drop rate is for light jerkins.

So instead of dresses and a stick, we're getting sweater vests and a stick? not much of an improvement.

We going to have to research Light Pants again? I mean those of us that have 8 trait set bonus gear are going to be screwed. Crafters and those wearing.

Styles of jerkin vary, from the simple homespun style of peasants, to rich embroidered styles favoured by gentry

Um, no, pants aren't going to be affected.

What you probably should have asked is are we going to have to relearn the traits on light armour tops (where robes and jerkins are), to which the answer is most definatively... I don't know. Hopefully it's just a toggle, and our research is already done.

Just to calm those who seem to have that fear - you do NOT catch the gay virus from letting your TESO character wear a robe. I've done several sorc characters, and is still 100% hetero.

Wow... probably the first thread with a positive, satisfying answer from Zenimax. A welcome change from the usual silence, the 'please remain civil' warning or a 'yes, of course... sorta... kinda... soon... well, not really' reply :P

    - marcusstratus's wife speaking -

This is something I would really like! And I know I'm speaking for my husband as well.

I've actually saved a level one homespun jerkin I got in coldharbour and figured I would just forget about the armor loss there and 'make up' for it with other items. I'm actually a fan of robes, but I'd still like to see the ability to craft Jerkins rather than having to rely on finding them, since some mage characters just aren't the robe type.
